Long ago there was a pegasus named Ashstarflight she was the creator of Anok she had 5 sons and they had their children: Whitewing, Waterwing, Hazlewing, Ashwing, Blazewing and Darkwing they ran away though. They each made a herd for themselves. Blazewing made the Fire herd, Hazlewing made the Wood herd, Ashwing made the Volcano herd, Waterwing made the Wave herd, Darkwing made the Rain herd and Whitewing made the Crystal herd, the last brother to make a herd. When he made the Crystal Herd, at that time there were wars over territories, unfortunately Crystal herd had the best grazing grounds and had war with Fire Herd. But when war came Crystal herd didn’t fight; they wanted peace with the six herds of Anok, but they refused. Once they were kicked out of their territory they knew they had to find a new territory where there would be no wars and fast! They had 1500 pegasi in their herd with pregnant mares and foals on their way. The only place left for them to go was the mountains in the north. “We will travel to the mountains in the north.” Their over-stallion Whitewings voice boomed over his herd. A white mare with purple wings cried “But it will take days to get their and the little ones are on their way.” Frightened mares started chaos over the herd one said “Yes, I agree with Flameflower. What will we do with the foals days away?” another said “How will we get there it is like a death trap?” The frightened mares feathers shoke in fear. Right as Whitewing was about to say something a dark Shadow appeared in the sky and said “Everyone calm down.” Whitewing sighed with relief. His mate Crystalcloud had heard the commotion. “What is going on?” She questioned the herd. A sky blue winged filly said “Are we really going to go to the north mountains?” Crystalcloud saw the fear in her eyes and answered “At this point it is our only hope. We will migrate to the mountains tomorrow.” Clearly she and Whitewing had this discussion. On the day of the migration the herd was desperate to get to the mountains in three days hopefully. “Once we get their what will we eat and live?” A bay stallion with emerald green wings asked. Crystalcloud looked at Whitewing unsure what to say. “Under the mountain there is untouched green grass. And we will live in the caves.” Whitwing said. Once he said that it seemed that a huge weight had been lifted off of the herd. He scanned over his herd and was overjoyed with pride. His herd trusted him; there lives were in his wings. They stayed with him when they were kicked out of their territory. Crystalcloud interrupted his train of thought. Do you think we should start flying so we can get past the obstacles?” He thought over this for a minute. “Yes it will be a little safer.” Crystalcloud had a surprised look on her face “What do you mean a little safer?” “Well, before I became over-stallion I patrolled all of Anok. When I came to the north mountains…….” His voice trailed off. “It’s a good thing our herd are the strongest flyers in Anok. The winds can reach the speed of 85-90 miles per hour without making a tornado.” Whitewing turned around deciding to inform the herd before they got their. “We will start flying but let me warn you the winds are so strong that it can knock a pegasi out of the air but, we should be able to fly through it.” A gray stallion with dark blue wings said “What about the yearlings, they aren't the strongest flyers?” Crystalcloud spoke. “They can draft off of us.” “Okay it is time to fly.” Whitewing said. Whitewing broke into a gallop with the herd at his heels. Once they were in the sky everything seemed so peaceful even though it wasn’t. By the time CrystalCloud or Whitewing started talking to each other hours had passed and they had flew ahead of the herd. ”What should we name them?” Crystalcloud said. Whitewing had a puzzled look on his face. “Them? What do you mean them?” “Well, I can feel 2 sets of hooves kicking my stomach.” Whitewings face immediately shot up. Twins, I am going to be a father for twins? He thought. Crystalcloud cleared her throat waiting for an answer. “Um, well, it depends on if they are boys or girls or one of each.” Crystalcloud thought over this for a second. “That is true but, what would you name them? Say what you want for two boys and girls.” He thought for a moment. “Okay, um for the boys Firetrail and Blacksmoke for the girls Everhope and Crystalheart.” Whitewing thought about the names; he really liked FIretrail and Everhope. “I…..” the wind howled through the air and cut CrystalCloud short. They were here. The herd stopped going forward and just flew in place. Whitewing turned around. “As you can tell by the wind speed we have made it. There is over a mile or 2 of this wind protecting the area, once we cross the border of wind the winds won’t be as strong. Crystalcloud will tell you how we will go in and out as quickly as possible.” As Whitewing flew backwards Crystalcloud flew in front of the herd. “The colt’s will draft behind the mares and the filly’s will draft off of the stallions. We will also fly in a V formation with the little ones behind some of you. Fly slow at first when I tell you fly fast. Now get ready for my count.” Everyone shifted into position. They were doing good progress and they on their timing. They were at the border of the north mountains, which usually takes two through four days to get there. “One, two, three. Let’s go!” Crystalcloud said. There was an excitement in her voice and she seemed really happy doing stuff like this. What if he wasn’t doing enough for her? What if...he shoke these thoughts off of his mind so she didn’t notice but, she was already looking at him weirdly. “Are you okay?” she asked. “Ya.” He said and tried to smile. “Why do you ask?” He said. “Your just acting sad. Never mind.” Crystalcloud said. As they flew in silence CrystalCloud know knew what he meant. The trees were to thick to fly throw and you could be seen through the air, there were also sharp rock all around. It seemed that all of this was like a barrier for the east mountains. She also realized what he meant about flying being a little safer there was ice chunks in the air and cut her skin and it was snowing. She looked backwards. Yearlings of all shapes and sizes were freezing cold. We have to get their soon she thought. They were also so close to getting out of this border. It was time to fly fast. “Okay everyone lets fly fast.” The herd neighed with excitement. Even their feathers of all colors rattled with excitement. A silver mare with sapphire wings cried “Help!” CrystalCloud and Whitewing looked back and seen her falling from the sky. “Oh no!” Crystalcloud said. She and Whitewing and two other stallion rushed to save her. Once they got to her they tried not to hurt her but it didn’t work they had to grab her with their teeth by the roots of her wings. She grunted but she knew it was what had to be done. Right before impact with the trees and ground they got control of her. Crystalcloud looked into the distance; she saw the north mountains! “We are almost there.” she told the pregnant mare. “We will take her. You lead the herd.” She told Whitewing and pointed in the direction of the mountains. Without talking Whitewing told her to stay safe then he flew away. Crystalcloud got a closer look at the mare and she realized it was Dimondleaf. It is one of her friends when she was little they stuck with each other no matter what. “Let’s hurry.” She said. They were almost there but was running out of time. “Dimondleaf, breath just breath. It is okay.” Crystalclouds voice smoothed the frightened mare. “Thank you Crystalcloud, you talking helps me calm down.” “You’re welcome Dimondleaf.” They flew harder and harder until the winds pace went down and the sky brightened for them to see a big mountain with caves, green grass, a lake with a stream near it, and trees. “Let go of her please and thank you for helping me carry her.” They let go of her and Crystalcloud helped her run into a cave. Once Dimondleaf was inside the cave Crystalcloud waited outside and seen that the rest of the herd had made it. “Whitewing! You made it!” She said. She galloped and shoved her muzzle into his mane.“Yes I did! I also see that you made it too.” Whitewing said. Suddenly a little paint filly with blue wings tipped with purple flew out of the cave and Dimondleaf came out close behind her. “Skypaint,” she said with a laugh “slow down!” Crystalcloud laughed. Everyone laughed at the site. “Okay everyone! Listen up.” Whitewing said after everyone finished talking. “Okay we will divide the caves for your family. Dimondleaf and her family will sleep over their.” He said pointing his wing to the far left cave. “Stoneclaw and his family over their.” He pointed to the farthest right one. As the list went on Crystalcloud didn’t feel so good so she ran into their cave and layed down. “Know for Snowblaze and his family above the middle cave to the left. Harperstone and her family above the middle cave to the right. Last but not least Mapleheart and her family will go above the middle cave.” Out of the middle of nowhere came running Limestone the medicine mare into Crystalclouds cave. “What are you doing?” Asked Whitewing. She had a happy expression on her face. “Why don’t you go see for yourself.” Whitewing ran into his cave and lying on the floor was Crystalcloud and two newborn pegasi; one boy and one girl. Crystalcloud had a happy expresion on her face and laughed. “I can’t believe it.” Whitewing said sigh. “What is wrong?” Crystalcloud asked Whitewing. “Well, know we have to choose names for them.” The filly flew around her sire. “I say we name the filly Everhope.” “Everhope, I like it Whitewing! Everhope it is!” Whitewing stared at the colt. Firetrail. He thought. “Firetrail.” Crystalcloud said as if she read his mind. “I like Firetrail for his name.” “Yes I like Firetrail too, Crystalcloud.” Whitewing said with smile. Firetrail was a red roan with yellow tipped in orange wings and Everhope looked a lot like her mother; she had a gray body and mane and tail was also gray too, she also had evergreen tipped in pink wings. Everhope flew out of the cave along with Firetrail at her side. The herd cheered when Firetrail, Everhope, Crystalcloud and Whitewing walked out of the cave apparently Limestone told the herd the good news. “What are there names?” Mapleheart asked. “Well, we like the names Everhope and Firetrail.” Crystalcloud told the herd. “Look out!” But the warning was to late. Skypaint ran right into Firetrail. She looked at Firetrail. “I’m.. I am.” She stumble.”Sorry.” She continued her courage building. “I am sorry.” She looked up at Whitewing. “It is okay. Just you need to work on your flying, okay?” Whitewing said with warm eyes. Skypaint nodded and looked at Firetrail. As Whitewing stared at them they stared at each other, blushing. He looked around as he walked away in silence newborn filly and colt’s where practicing there flying, lying by their mothers, playing with family members and friends, or walking or running around. Snowblaze ran in circles with his new colt Stormlight, a gray appaloosa with white with dark blue tipped wings. “Everyone’s so happy.” Crystalcloud said. “Yes they are” Whitewing agreed.
