Greywood flew low and fast. He had a mission. And one he couldnt live without completeing. Greythorn was the best brother he could ask for. He passed the Grandmother Tree and soon came to the Vein. A few minutes passed and he crossed the border onto Mountain Herd. His plan was to use the canyons and mountains for cover. He landed on a ledge on the side of a cliff. Thousands of pegasi streamed from the canyons to Canyon Meadow. "How will I find Rockwing in this?" he asked himself. "Umm... okay... uhh.. if i was an over-stallion where would I stand?" he thought about it for a while. "Maybe somewhere high, so he could watch the whole herd." at this thought he dove down the side of the canyon, carefull not to make a sound. There was still several hours before sunrise, but he couldn't take a chance. He landed behind a grove of trees and peeked out. He saw Rockwing standing next to a white stallion. The white stallion was standing next to a brown colt. The colt looked content and pleased. Rockwing was drilling his warriors into the sky for training. Rockwing's eyes skimmed the land and stopped on a circle of pegasi guarded by warriors. Greywood followed his glare to see his brother... protecting a silver weanling filly. He was soon tackled and held down by 2 steeds, one at each wing. The silver filly tried to help but they pushed her off. "Secure that colt." Rockwing said in a voice that seemed to shake the mountains. The 2 steeds holding Greythorn bit down harder. He squealed and relaxed, staring at Rockwing with a steely-glare. The filly was taken away by a small group of yearlings. It took all of Greywood's strength not to jump out. If he did he could get caught too. "You two, come with me." Rockwing pointed his wing at the 2 stallions holding Greythorn. And they took off. Greywood quickley skimmed his eyes across the meadow. He saw the silver filly, following Greythorn with her eyes. She looked mad, sad, and lonely. Greywood turned away from her and galloped through the trees, scanning the sky for the 3 pegasi. He flew back to his ledge, and then he saw Greythorn, his wings where broken.. and they where holding him over a cliff..."ROCKWING!!" he whinned his fury into the canyon. He galloped in to the sky.. he didn't care if he was caught.. he didn't care if he died... all he wanted was Greythorn. Something grabbed his tail and yanked him back. He turned and saw his mother. "Let me go!" he said, whimpering. She pulled him down to the ground and wrapped her wings around him. "Please.. if you fly up to Rockwing he will kill you! I cant lose you both." she said, crying. "I dont care!" he said, but deep down he knew she was right. He heard wingbeats behind him. She settled him and turned. Starsun landed along with Star and Morningleaf. "Come on! Before they see us!" Star said urging them to the woods. Greywood said," But, what about Greythorn??!" "I am sorry but there is nothing we can do..." Morningleaf said. They all cantered toward the woods. Greywood snuck a peek behind him. "Dont look." his mother warned him, catching his eye. He closed his eyes... he could feel Starsun's warm breath and Diamondsky's comforting hide. He was glad they where there. He felt as weightless and dizzy as his brother fell toward land....
