𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒂 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒅, 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒈𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒐𝒎, 𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈. 𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉, 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒖𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓.

" Stormwing!" Dawnriver cried, as she was flapping her wings toward the overstallion. She got his attention. "It's happening!"

"What?!?! How could you leave her?" He cried, filled with rage at the medicine mare.

"Don't worry. My apprentices are with her. She appears to be fine." Dawnriver consoled him. "Would you like to see her?" She asked.

"Of course! Where is she?" The overstallion asked.

"In the meadow." She said.

"What are we waiting for? Let's go!"

Meanwhile in the meadow....

Brightcloud nickered with contentment as her newborn filly lay curled next to her, sleeping. She was a blue roan whose color was like rain, with brown legs, dark, dusty-blue wings, and covered all over with dozens of tiny white and light brown speckles. She had just sent Dawnriver to get her mate, Stormwing. Brightcloud knew he was patrolling the skies, and so it may take a while for him to come, but that didn't stop her from being impatient. This filly was their first foal, and she wanted him to be there when she woke up.

Suddenly she saw them. It appeared as though Stormwing was flying as fast and hard as he could, while Dawnriver followed calmly behind. They landed a few wing-lengths away.

"Brightcloud!" He cried, as he galloped over to her.

"Shhh.... she's sleeping" Brightcloud hushed. Stormwing gasped as he saw his filly for the first time.

"She's beautiful" He said. Brightcloud smiled.

"What do you think of Riverglade, for a name?" She asked.

" It's perfect" He replied.

The next day............

"Riverglade! Stay close!" Brightcloud whinnied to her filly. Riverglade was only one day old, and didn't know the dangers of the world yet. And, being so young and the overstallions' first foal, she was an easy target to be taken hostage by another herd.

Just as she was thinking this, she saw a mare walk out of the meadow with a pretty palomino filly. It was her friend, Sunflower, with her new foal! Brightcloud trotted over to meet the filly.

" Hello, Sunflower," She greeted. "Who is this?" She asked

"This is Lightbreeze" Sunflower said proudly.

"She is lovely"

"Thank you" She said.

Suddenly they heard a shout.

"Mama! Look! I'm flying!" It was Riverglade. She had recently discovered her wings, and had been practicing flying the whole day. Lightbreeze's eyes widened in fear and surprise as the blue roan filly came carreening toward them as fast as possible for a newborn pegasus. She crash landed in a heap at her mother's hooves, laughing and neighing with joy.
