RECOMMENT FOR NIGHTMISTTTT)
Heisly:
She giggled. "I know right? Do you think this might have an owl or two?" She asked excitedly.
Teirron:
"Uhhh... well, she can't... because... she's too hurt," he replied. "You need to come to her." Teirron hoped that the old mare would believe him and follow him back to the pegasus mare he still didn't know the name of. (SOBZ NIGHTMISTTT)

(DONT COMMENT I'M MAKING A NEW PARTT)
Raven:
She tried to make sense of what he was saying. What does 'care for you' mean? she wondered. "O-ok?" (Bye)
Zayne:
"I mean, I care for you, Raven. I want to help," he said. (I gtg!)
Raven:
She looked away. "I-I remember, but I also don't really know what that means."
(Make your comment and then I'll make a new part)
Raven:
She looked up at him, "Really?"
Raven:
"Sorry to bother you with my issues." she said quietly, staring at the floor as if it was the most intresting thing in the world
Callum:
He hugged her tightly, kissing her cheek, all his words gone out of him except for the ability to express himself through touch.
Zayne:
He looked down as he held her hand in his, studying it. He didn't know what to say, having not experienced this before.
Fawnroot:
She smiled sheepishly and wrapped her wings around him in return. “I feel the same-you know I do.“ Her voice lowered to a whisper so only Callum could hear her. They already confessed their relationship with the herd, so she wasn’t worried about anyone hearing them. But, she wanted to share a personal moment with just him-like how they used to do in the privacy of the cave.
“I choose you, Callum. Over and over. I’d leave my herd, if you asked. I’d jump in front of Opalla’s sword. I’d sell part of mysef...and I’d do it for you.” (IM LITERALLY DYING)
Sunpond:
“I find a lot of meaning in his stories. Other than the centaur and landwalker legends, the ones about Star and his friends are my favorite. He was so inspiring and compassionate. I admire him-not just for being the Healer, but simply by thinking of himself less, and others more. If we had more Pegasi like him, then perhaps peace with the centaurs would be a much easier feat.“
(Did Zayne and Raven want a slow dance moment? Or are they getting food?)
Raven:
She shrugged. "I'm used to it, it's nothing new, I've dealt with these nightmares for 5 years."
Zayne:
He pricked his ears toward her. "I'm sorry," he said, looking down.
Sultaan:
He looked at Reba, unsure of where to start.
Raven
"But in my experience you can never outrun your nightmares."
Reba: ”Ok.” she signed, awkwardly, feeling timid for no good reason. How strange, to go from the courageous high of performing, and then be nervous at a kind centaur’s attentions.
Raven:
"Thanks. Unfortunatly I can't jsut forget the past. I see it all around me all the time."
Sultaan:
He looked around. "Would you want to get something to eat?" He signed, turning back to Reba.
Zayne:
"Ah, of course," he said with a slow nod. "The past is the past, Raven. You'll have to let it go sometime." He took her hand in both of his in a reassuring way. "I'm here for you."
Callum:
"Me as well, Fawn," he said, stepping closer. He pressed his forehead against hers, wrapping his arms around her as much as he could. "I love you to the farthest star and back..." (AIIIIII OUR SHIP IS JUST MURDERING ME)
Kilroy: He cringed. “I’ll keep it in mind.
“Fawnroot told us about Star and how he saved the herds. What meaning do you find in his story?”
Merrick:
He smiled and nodded. “Sure. I think I see a deer meat and pork booth. Or a stew and salad booth. I just need food-I don’t care what kind.” He playfully flicked his tail over her flank. “I’ll pay.”
Sunpond:
Her eyes brightened. “Thank you for telling me, Kilroy. Oh, but I’d love to hear about the knights and young heroes on daring adventures! Any and all legends are my favorite.” She giggled and spun in another big circle, before returning back to Kilroy. “Maybe you should think about it more often-your a very good storyteller.” Sunpond grinned up to him.
Kilroy: “I don’t think anyone really believes that particular myth... they prefer the stories of generals and knights and young heroes on missions for their states. But, I think there is a significance in the Deity story because it illuminates the chance destiny we have... all it took was a drop of sweat to create an entire culture of people, and someday maybe we will return to it...” He stopped, and began wringing his hands. “I don’t think about this sort of thing much.“ he confided.
Kelly:
She blushed. "Hmm, well, we could check out a few booths and see what we find?" She smiled.
Sunpind:
She listened with wide, curious eyes as Kilroy spoke of this Deity and how he was the basis to centaur life and their lifestyle. When he finished, she smiled, “Woah...that‘s so interesting. I never thought of centaurs that way before-laboring to survive.”
She blinked up at Kilroy and cocked her head thoughtfully. “Do you believe in Deity? Do you believe the legend really happened or is it more of a myth that you feel a connection to because it’s meaningful to you?” It wasn’t a super important question, but to Sunpond, legends are events or memories that are passed down from generations. She wasn’t sure if that was naive or just plain stupid, but she wanted to know what Kilroy thought.
Ray:
She didn't know if Ben had heard her question so she didn't repeat it
Kilroy: “So. In the beginning of time, there was nothing, an empty unconscious mind of a sleeping being. That being was called Deity. And, because time was being born still, fast was slow and slow was fast. After eons, though they could have been seconds, Deity awoke. Everywhere Deity looked, a star was born, and as Deity explored the eternity, its actions and perceptions created the world. At last, Deity finished and came to the end. A drop of sweat came from Deity’s brow, and the fluid gained life and became a centaur. And thus centaurkind will always be bound to a life of toil. We are the essence of life, yet with each breath, we labor to survive.
“And that’s the story. It doesn’t have a happy ending, though it doesn’t fit comfortably into the category of tragedy, either. Nothing was lost or gained. Though it’s not the most favored myth, I find meaning in it.”
(That was based off of the Serbian Creation Myth)
Reba: She smiled lop-sidedly at Sultaan, hoping he would not suggest dancing (way too intimidating, even from him), or eating (was the food fit to eat). That did not leave many options, to be fair. And whatever he chose, she yearned to make his heavy eyes lighten up again.
Merrick:
Once Reba had finished singing, he looked back to Kelly. Blushing, he tucked a strand of light golden hair back behind her ear.
He smiled down to her, “So, where would you like to eat? We could check a booth? Or we could go to my uncles‘ tavern? What would you like?”
(AAAAAA THE SHIPS)
Fawnroot:
She stared into him and pressed her muzzle back into his lips when he drew back, yearning for his warm touch. She pulled back but only far enough to speak. When she exhaled, her breath ruffled his long blonde hair. “We have. And we still have a long way to go.”
She smiled, “But, there’s no one I’d rather go on this journey with than you.”
Sunpond:
She smiled brilliantly and took and step closer, her wings buzzing with excitement. “Oh, please tell me! I’d love to hear an origin story!” She bleated, her ears trained on Kilroy.
(I gtg again soon, so if I don’t reply, then that means I’m.... actually I gtggg)
(Do centaurs have chairs? If they do I REALLY want to see a picture of a centaur sitting in a human sized chair XD)
Raven:
"They vary, mostly they're about the centaurs I killed."
Raven:
She turned back to Zayne, wondering what to say, she hadn't told anybody about her nightmares in years
Callum:
He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her muzzle for several moments. When he released Fawnroot, he gazed at her for awhile. “We’ve come a long way,” he said, smiling.
Sultaan:
He shrugged. He had seen many centaur couples dancing, but he couldn’t even imagine him doing such a thing. And besides, even if he could, he had no type of courage to ask Reba anyway.
Kilroy: Oh, did he feel like a fraud when Sunpond spoke to him! But he swallowed back his doubts and responded to her question. “Really I’m not the best person to ask, I was never much for stories.“ he thought for a moment. “There is one story that comes to mind, an origin myth. I don’t know of anyone who believes that it is true, but sometimes people tell it...“
Reba: ”Well now you know what I did back at home!“ she signed, feeling slightly awakened but knowing why. “So, what should we do next?”
Ray:
"I don't know what a sandwich is."
Ben:
He nodded. “I should, yeah. Would you like a deer meat sandwich?”
Ray:
"Do you have deer meat?"
(YES CALLUMROOT WE LOVE IT)
Fawnroot:
She smiled and relaxed into his touch. Fawnroot stared into his twinkling mismatched eyes -the same eyes she stared into countless times and each time she falls in love all over again- and she found herself getting lost in their warmth. She sighed lovingly and stepped closer to him.
Ben:
He nodded, but before moving into the back room, he stopped next to Ray. “Would you like something?”
(I gtg)
Callum:
Once they were alone, he turned to Fawnroot, taking her face in his hands. His eyes twinkled down at her as he gazed into her blue ones.
Zayne:
"Oh yes, um, two chicken soups and a large salad," he said quickly.
Ben:
He tensed, unsure and awkward. “Well..I’m glad it went good...um-can I get you anything?“
Raven:
She nodded. "Yeah. Every night. They're less when I run until I can't move or think I'm so tired, they're worse when I don't."
Raven:
"What do you mean? Is there something wrong with running?" she asked Zayne, then she turned to Ben. "My father and brother are in prison."
Zayne:
He fell silent for a moment. But then finally, he spoke, "Why do you always run?" He asked.
Fawnroot:
She smiled to Callum and nodded. ”Good idea. I think they’re enjoying each other’s company.” She nickered gently, nuzzling Callum’s palm as they stepped out of the cave and into the bright afternoon sun.
Ben:
“Coming.” He walked to Zayne and smiled to Raven. “Hello, again. What’ll it be?” He asked, then remembered the last time he spoke to the couple, Raven was about to head to court with her abusive family.
He cast a concerned glance to Zayne. “How did the trial go? Were you successful?“
Raven:
"The later I stay up the less laps of the obsticale course I have to run before I can sleep."
Raven:
"I'm not tired," the later she stayed up the less laps of her obsticale course she had to run till her body shut down and she could sleep
Raven:
"Why wouldn't centaurs want to sew? Or have peaceful jobs? I've seen enough fighting to last a lifetime."
Raven:
A peaceful job sounded amazing, she smiled. "You sure they'll hire me?"
Raven:
SHe nodded. "Ok, I need to find a job." and get to sleep before dawn
Raven:
She stood next to him, still holding his hand
Zayne:
They both returned to the tavern and stood at the counter. Zayne rang the bell for service. (River!)
Ray:
"Do you have deer?" she asked
Raven:
"Ok." she said, following him
Callum:
"Come on, let's go leave these two alone," he suggested with his arm still draped over Fawnroot's withers.
Zayne:
He smiled gently and hugged her. "Let's go get something to eat," he suggested, taking her hand.
Sultaan:
He looked at Reba and smiled softly. "Yes, thank you..." he signed, and then his smile faded, but his eyes were still the same as though he had kept the expression. "I needed it."
Ben:
He stiffened but nodded. “Fine. No one should harm you.” He turned, moved into in Tavern and held the door open for her. “What would you like to eat?”
Sunpond:
She nodded slowly and blinked at the ground. “I understand...Some Pegasi are like that as well. However, it is almost the opposite. They see the centaurs as a threat for that very reason. As long as there is such distrust between our species, then these feelings of caution and hatred will never go away.”
Her eyes lifted back to Kilroy. “That’s why we need diplomats like you, who are trying to stop the war before it starts.” She smiled afterward, as he spoke of his camp. “Oh, wow! You can create fire? That’s...weirdly cool.“ She said with a giggle. “What about your myths? Do you have any favorite legends or stories of your herd?”
Ray:
She looked at the centaurs at the celebration. "Fine, but understand that I am not giving up my dagger, and if anyone comes near me I'm not afraid to use it."
Kilroy: He sighed. “Sunpond, not all centaurs...” he stopped. It was so difficult to bring himself to say it to her, when her face was so bright with excitement and hope. “Not all centaurs want peace. A significant part of our camp does not see pegasi for who you are, but the land you live on. Like the Northern Herds, there are some who would take your meadows. But I swear that I am doing everything in my power to prevent this. The peace summit will work. It has to. Even with only a few minutes of conversation, I can that our races have so much to teach and offer one another. If we can just get each other to realize that...“
He shook his head. “But what am I saying? You wanted to know about my camp! We typically sleep in tents or huts, and in the winter make fires to keep warm.”
(Totally got side tracked while writing this... I started off googling Metternich (19th century diplomat) and ended watching clips of bad docudramas.)
(hi! :)
Ray:
She looked at the centaurs at the celebration. "Fine, but understand that I am not giving up my dagger, and if anyone comes near me I'm not afraid to use it."
Ben:
H paused and slowed to a halt when he didn't hear her hoofbeats. Noticing her standing on the edge of the woods, he frowned and crossed his arms over his chest.
"If you want to stay in the woods and get yourself killed, then be my guest. I'm offering you a place to sleep and some food to eat. Either you stay here for 12 hours overnight and in the morning I'll help you, or you can stay out there where no one can help you." He called loud enough for her to hear him. "Your choice."
Ray:
She followed Ben, she reached the edge of the forest and debated staying, she had lived in the forest ehr whole life, it couldn't be that dangerous.
Ben:
"Now. Come on-I'll take you back." He turned and trotted back to the herd.
Ray:
"I'm tired. When can I sleep?"
Sunpond:
She relaxed when he spoke again and paused to decipher the tone of his voice. Mainly resigned, but there was a hint of something else...pity? She cocked her head to the side.
"You fear for my herd? How come? Are you worried that your peace summit will not work?" She asked, then offered a genuine smile. "I bet it'll work! If the centaurs have no need for war, then why should the pegasi? I'm sure everything will turn out alright." She said, her normal cheerful expression and light-hearted tone of voice returned.
"So, enough about my herd. Tell me about your's. Where do you sleep? Do you have preparations for winter?"
Kilroy: “Oh! I’m sorry! I was just thinking about what you said.” Poor things, did they know what was coming? Their Star was long gone, and in real life, there was no magic power that would just stop war. (Fatalistic and Paternalistic. Attaboy, KR! 😐)
Ray:
"I'm sorry," she'd been startled and it was an involuntary response. "Just a reflex."
Ben:
He recoiled backward at the feeling of her knife pressed against his neck. He was about to reach for his own, which was in his jacket pocket, but he reframed from doing so when she pulled back. He glared down and her and rubbed his throat. "What was that for? I'm trying to help you." He sneered, lashing his tail.
Sunpond:
She flicked her ears towards him and expected him to reply, but when he said nothing, nervousness rolled through her stomach. She wished more than ever that she could see his expression or read the emotions in his eyes. Was he angry? Scared? A combination of the two or something entirely different?
Just once, she wanted to see someone and look them in the eye, but she couldn't, so she was literally left in the dark.
She swallowed when he continued to stay silent. "Did I say too much? Will this affect his plans for the peace summit?"
"Kilroy...?" She flicked her ears towards him again and leaned forward as if she was straining for something.
Kilroy: Picking up on Sunpond’s anxiety, he intuitively knew that all was not well in the herds. The Northern Herds needed more grazing and threatened those who had it. It was written all over Sunpond’s face, the fear all haves posses of the have-nots. Apparently there was a need for Centaur grain after all. But one thing at a time- relations were not good enough with Sun Herd to use them as an intermediary with the Northern Herds, and any overtures made independent would turn Coalwing more against them than he already was.
Ray:
She woke up, her dagger pressed at his neck. "Oh, sorry." she put away her dagger
Ben:
He frowned, his ears flicking in every direction as he scanned for danger. He leaned down and gently shook her shoulders. "Ray? Ray, get up. This is no place to rest. Come back to the herd with me and I'll give you a place to sleep."
Ray:
"I know what deer hide is, we have blankets made of it at home." she lay down on the ground and dozed off, tired from the long day of searching for her family
Ben:
"A tent? You don't know what a tent is?" He asked, his mouth hanging open in surprise, but he closed in and shook his head. "Uh-well...It's like a portable house. It's easy and reliable. It's made with a canvas sheet or sometimes even a deer hide."
Sunpond:
She swallowed and took a small step back, not because she feared Kilroy, but because she feared his question.
"Oh...ah..w-well...Sun herd is just one of the 5. Yes, they live in different climates and they have different appearances. They value different things and each has their own battle tactics and strategies."
"Based on the legends, Snow herd steeds are the best swimmers, Mountain herd eats bird eggs, Sun herd has the brightest feathers and the best grass lands, Desert herd are the best fliers, and Jungle herd are the most resourceful and the only herd who knows how to build nests."
She swallowed again, her purple wings tight. "U-Uh...I suppose Sun herd gets along with them...the only thing is the Northern herds, because it snows almost year round- resources are thin and grass is non-nutritious. They often get in disputes with Sun herd over the grazing lands. As I said before, Sun herd has the best grass and the most abundance of it." She tried to smile, but it came out as a concerned grimace.
"Of course, the wars and battles were before Star came. Ever since he brought peace, the Northern herds have had no need to attack. And hopefully they never will."
(OOOF LONG SORRY)
Kilroy: He took a moment to decide what to ask Sunpond next. He could play it predictably and follow the topic of grass shortages, but something in his gut told him to ask about the other herds. “Fawnroot mentioned other herds to me earlier... so they live in different climate regions and have distinct appearances? Does Sun Herd get along with them?”
Ray:
She yawned, covering ehr mouth with ehr hand
Sunpond:
She grinned and clapped her wings together briefly, before settling again to answer Kilroy‘s question. “We are lucky. Sun herd never gets too hot or too cold and the temperatures year round are usually comfortable, but we still migrate anyway. In the summer months when it is hot, we migrate North to Sky meadow where the temperatures are cooler. And vise versa in the winter months-we migrate from Sky meadow to Dawn Meadow.“ “We sometimes migrate if there is a shortage of grasslands.”
She explained then shifted her weight to rest a hind hoof.
“As far as preparations go, we do not. Our coats grow out very little, but it is nothing compared to the thickness of the Mountain or Snow herd steeds up North-they’re practically built like bears.”
Ray:
"What's a tent?" she mumbled, not looking at Ben
Kilroy: “I promise.” he told her, though he knew it would be hard to keep. But then, the relationship between the two races could really only go two ways. If it strengthened and improved, he would certainly fill his obligation. And if it failed... well Kilroy did not intend to be around to see it fail.
“So, what are the seasons like here? How do you prepare?” he asked, hoping to hear about some sort of difficulty centaurs could help with.
(did we want Zayne and Raven or Reba and Sultaan to have a slow dance moment? Or did that already happen? I wanna get this show on the road so we can capture someone hehehehehe -rubs hands together evilly-)
Ray:
"Sure." she said, not sure what a tent was
Ben:
He frowned and shook his head. "No, no. You don't need to-" He snapped his fingers. "Oh! I have an extra tent. I could pitch it for you if you'd like. That way you'll have a little bit of shelter."
Ray:
She shrugged. "I can sleep outside, I'm used to sleeping outside, I'll just need a blanket."
Sunpond:
She smiled and gasped gently, her head craning upward to look in Kilroy's direction. Her gray eyes widened, "Really?! Oh that would be amazing! Please come back! You will love it. It's the most beautiful thing."
She realized that she couldn't exactly promise that he would love it or even if it was beautiful, but from what she's heard about it and the reactions from her peers, she figured it must be quite a spectacle.
Ben:
He pursed his lips. "I might have a guest bedroom in my Tavern. Or I could ask around and see if anyone had some room for you."
Ray:
She nodded. "Yes that makes sense. But where will I stay?"
(YIKES IM SO SRY. I want to the mall yesterday, and then watched something with my mom. What'd I miss?)
Reba: She stepped back down to where Sultaan was standing, and signed, “I am glad this makes you smile.” Really, anything that could make his solemn face lighten up a little was worth it.
The musicians of the band had come back from their water break. Reba smiled at them sheepishly. “I thank you?” she said. The musicians seemed to shrug it off, as she had not damaged the drum or the audience. Some of them grinned back at her, though one or two scowled. Reba turned away and back towards Sultaan.
(I don’t necessarily want to turn the whole camp against Reba, it’s just that there are probably a couple members who don’t take as kindly to strange looking/sounding foreigner...Just as it would be today.)
Raven:
She nodded, trying to remind herself that Zayne was nothing like her brother and father, he wouldn't yell at her or hit her..... she hoped. She folded her hands behind her back and looked at the ground
Raven:
She hoped he didn't notice how jumpy she'd been. "Ok, s-sorry."
Zayne:
"You left and returned so fast I hardly noticed. That music was so- so- so mesmerizing!" He exclaimed, laughing.
Sultaan:
He opened his eyes, pricking his ears toward Reba when he realized she had stopped. A slight smile was spread across his lips from the song and as a result it had warmed his sad heart.
Callum:
He looked down as Fawnroot nosed his ribs, causing him to blush slightly, but he didn't mind. He knew that he had had fatal stab wounds before his death, probably being part of the cause of it, and then now they were perfect scars. He wondered at the fact.
(I have to ask, why and how did Callum die? I wasn't here when that happened and I was just wondering)
Raven:
She walked back to Zayne. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you where I was going, I should have." she ducked, half expecting to be hit
Reba: She watched Raven go, at a loss. Hopefully other centaurs would have more patience with her.
Raven:
"Oh, I'm sorry, I don't know your language." she said
Kilroy: He smiled indulgently. “I guess that means I will have to come back here by then to experience them with you.”
Reba: Oh goodness, she thought. The centauress, Raven, thinks I speak her language! “I am Reba,“ she said, before hastily adding, “No listen Centak good.”
Raven:
"Are you new here? I'm Raven."
Reba: ”Thank you,” Reba said carefully to the centauress with interestingly colored eyes who had just addressed her. It was clear she had enjoyed the music.
Raven:
She trotted over to Reba. "That was beautiful!"
Reba: Finishing her song, she moved to put the small hand drum down. The responses of the spectators were varied, she saw a small crowd had gathered to hear her. They had faces of surprise, and curiosity, enjoyment. Of course, there were a couple that looked annoyed or disgusted. And the look on Sultaan’s face, the way he closed his eyes, his face full of wonder... it her heart swell in a way she had not believed was possible.
Fawnroot:
She saddened as well and leaned into him, re-wrapping her wing around his back. Without realizing it, she brushed her muzzle over Callum's ribs as if his fatal rib injuries and stab wounds were still present.
Through the fabric of his shirt, she felt the rise of his skin from a scar. She still didn't understand how Callum was healed. Was it the fact that she'd given up part of herself for him? Was it the magic of the Golden Meadow?
She sighed gently and felt her ears droop. She didn't know the answer and she likely would never know.
Raven:
SHe was impressed
Callum:
His eyes softened as the form of his smile saddened. "Yes, me too."
Raven:
She heard the music and froze, it was beautiful. She listened to the music, stunned, it was beautiful
