Declan:
The girls squealed defiantly and each took a candy, not wanting their father to steal it. They ripped open the packaging and popped the little sweet into their mouth. Their eyes widened and they shared a long look. Cara smiled widely and flopped dramatically onto the sofa as her sister exclaimed in Irich, “Holy Mother of Farris!“
“Cloda,” Declan snapped at her daughters language and she snapped her mouth shut, but she was clearly still enjoying the candy. “This is great! So tangy!” Cara cheered from her place on the couch without using her sister’s foul language. “This is better than great! Best candy ever!”
Declan rolled his eyes comedically as the girls fawned and obsessed over the foreign fruit candy. “Thank you very much, Carmela. Now I’m going to have to take them to Joneirestown exclusively for that candy.“ He teased with a smile, then nodded.
“It’s been quiet here, mainly. We had a few guests stay with us from Joneirestown who were just passing through. One of them is still here, but the other had to leave and return home.“ There was a slight regretful note to his voice as he spoke, “Now, the herd is getting ready for the autumn festival.” He set Carmela’s food container on the dining table. “Is that why you came home? To celebrate with us?”
(Any recomments you have for ppl just post it below)
Summary: (By River ❤❤! Not me! XD Thanks so much friendo!!)
After the fight, with the help of Fig and Rayla, Ben was brought to Ulrani’s hut for both Rayla’s and Ben’s injuries. Now he and Rayla are sitting and talking about what happened.
Romie rescued Kilroy from the underground cave and I think he is bringing Kilroy back to his little campsite? Kilroy is skittish of Romie, and vise-versa, but Kilroy is focused on getting back to the herd. Unbeknownst to him, Sunpond and Callum are in Sun herd.
Carmela, Declan’s late-wife apprentice, came over to visit and have dinner with the family. She gave Cloda and Cara some candy she found from her short time in Jonhirestown. The girls eagerly tried the foreign candy as Declan and Carmela speak about Irichad herd life and her travels

(Y’all I made a new part!! So post your recomments in it!)
Sultaan:
”Did you ever get to hold one?” He signed, adjusting the flower behind Reba’s ear when they started walking. “I think I kinda know another orphan that may love lizards.”
Callum:
He sighed and shook his head as the hope that had sprouted in his heart just for Kilroy, wilted. He wondered if Fig had ever really tried to teach and discipline his child when Kilroy was in fact young enough. If Fig ever loved him enough to realize that his son would grow up accordingly.
Callum shook his head again. “I suppose I’ll pay a visit, and then go beg for another ambassador,” he said.
Rimecrest:
He watched the two yearlings interact with pricked ears, but guilt and grief, mixed in with a little hurt lingered behind his grey eyes. It was getting toward the evening time, so the wind began to die down a little more. Rimecrest fluffed his wings and folded them.
“I’m sor- please forgive me,” he corrected himself. Asking for forgiveness felt more genuine and meaningful than just saying sorry. “I didn’t mean it in that way, I promise! Grasswing is my hero- and Bumblewind, and Star, and Morningleaf.” He chuckled a little. “Okay, I have a lot of heroes. But I meant what I said as a compliment. I swear I wasn’t thinking about the whole story of Graythorn.”
Bhearit:
”Ay! Definitely. There’re so many details to my project, and just a couple hours ago I hit a stump,” he replied and his expression darkened a little when he remembered that fact. He still hadn’t figured out anything, even in all this time
emberflight:
"i'm sorry thornhill"
@Ravendove
Carmela: She still made no motion, only meeting Topaz's eyes and waiting for instructions.
Fig: He led Callum through the hallway and down to the mess, the smell of cooking food growing stronger. "He probably did visit his mother. As for his abandoning you, I can't completely explain that... but as a kid he could be... deceitful.
"There was a time some other students asked him to give them the answers during the test in exchange for candy. He agreed, but he gave them the wrong answers... the teacher told me when he aced the test and the rest of the class failed. You might say it was moral of him... but he still ate the candy. He wouldn't confess to the teacher until I pressured him."
Reba: She accepted the flower and tucked it behind her ear. "Thank you," she said, before switching signs. "They were tan, like the sand, with black stripes around their eyes and small horns."
Colchi: "No, I understand," he chuckled, remembering the hours of childhood spent scrubbing the grubby dishes clean. He cocked his head and closed his eyes. "The difficult part would be getting the water, right, and controlling it. And you're still working out what type of soap to use right?" He opened his eyes again, excited.
Ben:
His subconscious mind kicked in, and though he was asleep, he felt the warmth of Rayla next to him. A ghost of a smile tugged at his lips, which softened his features.
Groggily, he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close to him, muttering something about ‘not wanting her to catch a cold.’ His front legs intertwined with her’s, their hooves clacking together softly, before Ben relaxed again.
(not sure what else to make him do? Are they both going to sleep now?)
Thornhill:
His eyes widened more as he stared at Emberflight, slightly horrified and shocked. “He was legendary because he was killed! Yes, he was Grasswing’s son but he was dropped into Dawn meadow as if he meant nothing. He was a sacrifice to threaten and intimidate. His story was not a happy one.“ Thornhill’s wings rattled and he swallowed again. “I’m proud of my name and I’m proud of who it represents, but it doesn’t change the fact that Graythorn was executed and we are in the same situation that he was in a century ago.”
emberflight:
"I'm emberfight" she went closer to thornhill and coalwing "you should be proud thornhill greythorn was a legend!"
Thornhill:
The little colt stared up at Rimecrest as something in his eyes brightened at the mention of Greythorn. “My momma picked my name…I was named after Graythorn.” He replied skittishly, but returned a small smile. It surprised him that this Mountain herd steed knew so much about the legends, especially the legends concerning Sun herd.
A heavy sense of deja vu washed over Thornhill like a sickening wave; Greythorn got captured by Mountain herd and he shares a name with Thornhill. And now, here Thornhill is- in Mountain herd territory- a captive, just like Greythorn. Thronhill swallowed heavily and suddenly started trembling. Greythorn was executed; his wings broken and dropped from the cloud layer into the Dawn meadow to send a message to Sun herd. Is that what Rimecrest was trying to say?! Was Thornhill going to be the next Greythorn; a sacrifice and a threat?
(I know that’s not what Rimecrest was saying, but to Thornhill it makes sense to connect the two)
Rimecrest:
He pricked his ears in a little surprise. “Your name reminds me of the name of Grasswing’s son, Graythorn,” he said with a smile, hoping Thornhill would take it as a compliment. “I don’t really know any pegasi that have the word thorn in their name.”
Thornhill:
He looked up at Coalwing, then back to Rimecrest. There was something compassionate about Rimecrest; a compassion that none of the other Mountain herd steeds possessed. Rimecrest almost reminded the young colt of Callum; both were genuine and understanding, and that made Thornhill feel more at ease. He didn't trust the foreign stallion completely, but the fact that he was here, talking to captives, and risking discovery spoke loud enough.
Thornhill blinked then exhaled, "Th-Thornhill..."
Coalwing:
“Hm?” He had been watching the pegasus authorities when he turned his head and looked down at Thornhill.
Rimecrest:
He looked at Thornhill and sighed, nodding understandably. “That’s okay,” he said, offering a smile. He wished he could get closer- who knows how long these captives have been here. They were probably gonna die from boredom. Speaking of dying, what were his people going to do with them when it came nighttime? They would freeze to death up here.
Rimecrest dared an inch closer. “My names Rimecrest, if you wanted to know, which I doubt you did,” he added with a shrug of his wings.
Thornhill:
Rimecrests' question made him pause and he took a large step closer to Coalwing, unsure what to do or what to say. He looked up at his over-stallion for guidance. This stranger seemed like a kind pegasus with genuine interests, but he was still a stranger; Thornhill knew better.
They didn't know this stallion. The only thing they knew about him was that he was a Mountain herd steed, and frankly, Thornhill's first experience with their foreign, northern neighbors has not been a pleasant one. He swallowed and shook his head.
(recomment for @Earthquake)
Avery:
She grinned as she approached Cole and finished the braid at the same time, “Nope! I’ve got it,” Avery said and expertly tied a band around the tips of her hair to keep the braid in place. She looked up at Cole and nodded eagerly. “Oh, perfect! And yes, I’m ready.” She eagerly glanced towards Cole then reached out and grabbed his hand, “Lead the way!”
Rimecrest:
His stomach churned at the thought of his own herd being first to break the peace probably among all the five herds, again. Why did they always have to be the bad guys? Why couldn‘t it be someone else for a change? Or no one at all, ever?
Rimecrest swiveled his ears and eyed the huddled group of Sun Herd steeds with a little compassion. “What’re your names?” He asked softly, but in a genuine way, like he really wanted to get to know them. And he did. Somehow he had a feeling that, even as unimportant as he was, he couldn’t let things turn out this way with a loop of kidnappings, wars, and constant hostility.
(OH I HAVE AN AWESOME PLAN!! Rimecrest is total history geek and Star fan, right? His views are based on Star’s, and he believes in an united, peaceful Anok STRONGLY, correct? Well, that could influence him to help Thornhill, Emberflight, and Coalwing!!!)
Thronhill:
He was shocked, to say the least. He was shocked that this Mountain herd stallion almost seemed considerate and empathetic towards them. "W-Well...Y-Yeah, it's bad." He remarked with his head chocked to one side, confused. "Of course it's bad! I miss my momma! And now Sun herd and Mountain herd hate each other again!"
"Something like this hasn't happened since Star was a yearling; we've been at peace with one another. Our herd is probably panicked and worried and preparing for the worst." He snorted gently before staring at the stallion, his round eyes filled with confusion and skepticism.
Rimecrest:
His jaw dropped as he sucked in a sharp gasp. “Oh my- so it’s true!?” He squeaked and then plopped onto his haunches in shock.
“Oh my stars...” Rimecrest rasped, bringing his volume down more. He covered his head in his wings. “Oh no, no no no no no. This is bad, this is very very bad. This is gonna undo everything that Star fought for! I thought Sun and Mountain Herd‘s hostility was of the past- old stories. History !“ He groaned.
Thornhill:
He frowned at Rimecrest, his eyes filled with caution and suspicion, before nodding at Coalwing, "This is our over-stallion. We got captured after he did, but we still don't know why. Aspidistrafire said something about "fixing us" but I'm not sure what she means...I just wanna go home." He mumbled that last part mostly to himself, then shifted his weight from hoof to hoof as he glanced from Emberflight to the over-stallion.
Bhearit:
He shifted his weight from one hoof to the other. “Well...” he blushed sheepishly. “It’s not all that great now that I come to think of it. I’m trying to create an automatic machine that washes dishes. You see, I got so tired of washing my dishes by hand, even if I do live alone. I can get pretty lazy, and I keep finding dishes all around my place. So I got the idea that maybe, just maybe, I could create some kind of box or something that can hold multiple items that are tin or even wood. Then you fill it up with water and soap of some kind- still working on that part, you can’t use soap bars very well with multiple dishes at a time- and then close the box up, press a button, and the boom, within a half hour to one you got clean dishes to dry and put away!“ Again he ran his hoof through the dirt. “That was my very un-detailed version of it. I’m still working on a lot of parts and all that.”
Rimecrest:
He flattened his ears at the insult. “I was just asking,” he muttered with an offended snort. “I just came down by accident because I was wondering why you all were up here. No one goes up here. I’m no one special, I promise! I don’t know why they captured you, honestly,” he replied, eyeing Coalwing. “Were you all captured- along with that stallion?” (I do want them to become friends eventually, I’m just scraping the bottom of the barrel right now to remain realistic and keep things moving)
OOH WOOPS for some reason the other comments didn’t load for me! Hold on!)
Callum:
”He said that we was going to his mother’s, as if that would help much. But I assumed you‘d know where that is so that I can have a little chat with him,” he said ending with a slight growl.
Sultaan:
He grinned in silent laughter. “What kind of lizards?“ he signed, reaching down and plucking a daisy. He twirled it and then offered the flower to Reba.
emberfligt:
she nodded
Thornhill:
He nudged Emberflight‘s shoulder hard with his muzzle and leveled her with a serious look. “Shhh! You’re attracting attention!“ He said sharply as he desperately looked around to see if anyone had noticed the stranger.
He looked back to Rinecrest and pinned his ears again, his voice dropping to an angry whisper, “If you must know, yes we are from Sun herd. What does it matter to you though? What do you want from us?”
Colchi: "Oh..." he paused. Bhearit's troubles were understandable, progress rarely came easily, it didn't take a genius to know that. Yet he was slightly disappointed. "What sorts of things are you working on?"
emberflight:
"what does it look like idiot!"
Bhearit:
”Oh. Hehe, sorry. Well, to tell you the truth, I, uh... I haven’t exactly finished any of them yet. I get a spark of inspiration, begin workin’ on it, and then I get another idea or just a sudden stop of creativity,” he replied with a sigh. (I gtg)
(did Kilroy say he was going to his mother’s?)
Rimecrest:
He lowered his head and swiveled his ears. “I’m not gonna hurt you. I’m just asking if you’re from Sun Herd. Well, of course you are. You all got real pretty wings. Why did they capture you?”
Fig: He held the door open for Callum, revealing a well stocked barracks mostly empty of people. "No. I'm sorry, but I don't. Did he say where he was going?"
How could he salvage this and make Callum trust him while forgetting Kilroy at the same time?
Colchi: "Not from you, but your inventions," he said gently. "I just want to see them and learn what they are capable of. I'm just curious, that's all."
Reba: "There were not any sparrows, where I come from. Though sometimes I would watch the lizards run across the dunes or bask in the sun. It would be boring, until one suddenly caught a bug I did not even know was there."
emberflight:
"GO AWAY!"
eric:
"you do?"
Gosh, I have SO many OCs to be)
Coalwing:
”That‘s a Mountain Herd steed, you know,” he murmured with a small nudge against both yearlings.
Rimecrest:
He already regretted showing himself. He shook his head. “I’m Rimecrest. Are you the Sun Herd captives?” he rasped, looking beyond them at the pegasus authorities.
Callum:
He frowned sharply. “Your son supposedly left early this morning leaving only a note saying that he quit, along with some other rude comments,” he replied. “That’s one of the main reasons I came back, besides my appointment with you. I thought you would possibly know where he is now. And maybe why he left.”
Bhearit:
He gazed at him for several moments as if trying to comprehend what Colchi really meant. (Loading sign on his forehead lol)
“Wait, you want to learn from me?“ he laughed sheepishly. “You wouldn’t want to learn from me, not in all the universe would you want to do that!”
Sultaan:
“Oh. Have you ever watched sparrows?“ he signed, looking around for any birds as he walked. Suddenly he tripped momentarily over a root, stumbled, and then caught himself before his fore leg buckled.
Rayla: by the time she finished eating she was half asleep. She yawned and laid down next to Ben
Thronhill:
He jumped and snapped his head towards a stranger’s voice. His ears immediately pinned at the sight of the Mountain herd steed and he eyed the stallion wearily. “Who are you? What are you doing here?” He whispered sharply as he tried not to draw too much attention from the other captains and guards.
Fig: "No... I thought he was with you?" he said, brow furrowed. "We aren't very close these days." His voice was clouded with regret and he accelerated his walking pace. The barracks were right ahead.
Colchi: In his own life, he had made plenty of modifications to already existing items, but he rarely created something from scratch. Bhearit had a spark of creation to him... that was rare.
"I have some technical experience, so I'd love to learn more."
Reba: "I do like birds, when I get to hear them," she said, amused and heartened by Sultaan's release. "I do not typically dream of flying."
Her dreams were more hallucinogenic, stretches of colorful sensations that defied reasoning or chronology.
Rimecrest:
He startled and raised his wings. He thought no one had seen him! Slowly, Rimecrest peeked around the boulder, flicking his ears forward.
"Yeah?" He whispered, his eyes wide. He didn't know what else to say.
emberflight:
she turned around "you behind the bolder come out!" (cue from thornhill)
@Embermoon Okay, here's what you missed involving GOSH I FORGOT HER NAME AGAIN!! Your yearling filly!! Well, tell me, I'm gonna go on with it.
Thornhill, Coalwing and Ember-sumthing are still in the same situation, prbly hungry by now.
My new OC Rimecrest (of Mountain Herd) flew down by mistake and is now around three to four wing lengths away behind a small boulder. So you can be Ember' according to that and make her the first to notice him if you want.
As for Eric, just look at my last comment with Bhearit. They're currently talking about his work with inventions and machines.)
summary! was at the stable all day sorry!)
Callum:
”Ay, thank you,” he said as his stomach growled softly. As they walked, Callum remembered the other part of the mission for why he was back in Johirestown.
“Fig, do you know where Kilroy is right now?” He asked.
Bhearit:
”Oh, you’re interested? Wow. Okay, well. I really like to create things that would better our society, and make work easier,” he replied with a small grin. “Although, most of them don’t ever work out...”
Sultaan:
He looked back at Reba and slowed his long stride, remembering it was a walk. But he couldn’t help but have a spring in his step; Sultaan hadn’t felt like this in a very long time. “Do you like birds? Do you ever dream that you’re flying, always trying to find the open, light filled, free place within that world?” He signed suddenly, gazing ahead.
Colchi: "Inventing?" he asked, eyes glittering with curiosity. "What sorts of things?"
(yes, Callum knows.)
Fig: "Great! One of my soldiers, Yoske, is a budding cook. I'll take you to the barracks."
Reba: She stepped lightly after him, trying to keep mud from getting on her hooves. That was one new aspect of Anok she didn't like.
(Ben’s asleep so the Tavern is probably locked. they may have to eat elsewhere)
Sultaan:
He smiled at Reba and took her hand. The mute centaur led the foreign mare forward, his chest tingling with excitement. (Sry I gtg, we got company!)
Bhearit:
”Oh, just fixing stuff people turn in- doing a little inventing on the side,” he said casually. Although really he was unsure if Colchi and his friend would appreciate such work. Most centaurs didn’t.
Callum:
”I wouldn’t mind a bite,” he replied, eyeing Fig. (I forgot, but does Callum know that Fig is Kilroy’s dad? And sorry for the short answer, I need to know if he does)
Kilroy: He watched as his mother smiled endearingly at Romie. "Of course not. You're our guest and Kilroy's friend. You are welcome here."
She got some chickpeas and spinach together and began preparing a curry.
Colchi: "And what work is that?" he asked, all pretenses about being polite and cautious dissolving.
Fig: His experienced eye caught Callum's stiffening, but he made no comment to it. "I'm doing very well. Are you hungry?"
He planned to take a meal with the man at the barracks, then show him some of the soldiers. After that, it would be time for the Council to meet.
@Windfeather (That should give you some time to prepare Rayla if you want her to attend.)
Reba: "All right," she said, curious about what was beyond the trees. She did not know yet if Sultaan was the type of person with innate intuition, but she hoped he was.
Callum:
He stiffened as Fig suddenly appeared with a greeting. “Doing fine, thank you,” he replied hastily. “You?”
Sultaan:
”How about this- we go beyond this forest, just outside the trees, and have a nice look around, and then we can come back as soon as we want?” He gestured, looking at Reba sincerely.
I was hoping one of the foals would notice him but wutever, I’m not gonna make him leave lol. He needs sum friends that aren’t created by me)
Bhearit:
He grinned widely. “There are plenty of them, if I do say so myself,” he said, adjusting his collar dramatically. “But most of the time I’m just back at my place working on some... work.”
eric:
he glanced at colchi giving him the REALLY look
Romie:
”Thank you,” he said in a manner that suggested that he was about to sweep to one knee. “How much do I owe you?” From his experiences, there was a price for everything.
Colchi: "Nice to meet you, Bhearit," he said, testing the name on his tongue. "Vacation for me. And Eric is here see more of the world... and more of the ladies too." It was fun embarrassing Eric like this.
(Should I bring Aspidistrafire in or should I give the action more time to develop?)
eric:
"yeah but it doesn't really seem like he's my boss though"
Bhearit:
He chuckled and rubbed his neck. "Bhearit; it's Bhearit," he said quickly. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself!" He ran his hoof through the dirt. "So... what brings you into Johirestown? Or did I already ask that?"
Coalwing:
”If so, I don’t know the reason why. It would be rather pointless for kidnapping us, don‘t you think?” He murmured with a glance toward the Mountain Herd pegasi.
Rimecrest:
He was just about to go down when he spotted the pegasus authorities below. He had a more fear driven respect for them, so he kept his distance. Rimecrest glided down opposite of the authorities and on the other side of the foals and grown stallion shielding them from the wind.
From there he could see. They didn’t at all look like Mountain Herd steeds. Were these the prisoners? His tail tucked between his legs slightly. He was behind a bush and a small boulder, but that was it. Already his frogs felt cold from the snow he was standing in.
(Also, Aspidistrafire has a... thing about nutrition so she would make sure everyone is having enough to eat. I'm sure you all remember the force feeding incident.)
Colchi: "My name is Ian Colchis, but my friends call me Colchi. That includes Eric. And what's your name?"
(AAAAAAWWWWWWW BENLA!!!! I AM CRYING MY H E A R T!!!! AAUUUUUUGGHHH!!!! JUST GET MARRIED ALREADYYYY)
Bhearit:
He laughed. “Well, I hope you’re not enemies,” he replied with a broad grin.
Rayla
she covered him with a blanket, "Love you too."
Colchi: "Of course we are! Though technically I am his boss, at least temporarily. I plan to stay here a few weeks, but Eric might be here longer," he winked.
Reba: "I am not sure..." she signed.
Fig: After a few minutes, he located the handsome centaur near the Tavern. "There you are, Callum! How are you?" he asked genially.
eric:
"i'd like to think so" he looked at colchi
Thornhill: (FINALLY get to use my baby again)
He repeatedly flexed his wings out of boredom then snuffled his nose through the snow in search of grass. His stomach rumbled and his ears blushed. He had hardly eaten anything on the journey to Mountain herd, which was foolish of him.
He swallowed and sighed, shifting his weight on his legs so he was more comfortable. He nudged Emberflight then glanced up at Coalwing. "Do they intend to starve us? Or let us die of dehydration?" He asked, half serious.
These Mountain herd captains seemed to be the type to not care if their prisoners were suffering, and he snorted at the thought.
Rimecrest:
He looked up as he took his time going down to the trees below at the foot of the mountain. His eye caught movement up on top of the cliff farther away ahead of him. “Hello?” He muttered, throwing his wings forward to stop himself. A flutter of wings just peeked over the ledge. There were pegasi there, but why? It’d be awfully windy.
With Rimecrest’s curiosity fuelin his muscles, he began to pump his wings as he steadily make his way upwards. Higher and higher he went until he was well above the cliff, overlooking everything. There were several pegasi there, actually. Two small ones, presumably foals, and several adults. Why were they up here?
(OOOOOOOOO!!!! We got new pegasus characters!!!!)
Bhearit:
He smiled in greeting. “Hey. Are you two friends?” He asked, gesturing between Colchi and Eric.
eric:
he waved "hi i'm eric"
Rimecrest:
He folded and spread his wings uncomfortably. The loud movement and humming of conversation thrummed louder and louder in his ears the more he gave it attention. So Rimecrest briskly trotted out of the cave with a snort and lifted off awkwardly as the winds beat against his side, tossing him to the left for a moment. But soon he gained momentum and glided on the current toward the less mountainous lands of Mountain Herd.
Callum:
He made his way through the village toward the Tavern without being noticed as much as possible. But he had also to remain casual, as if he did this everyday.
To his surprise he arrived at his destination without much trouble. Now he had to just wait for Fig.
Bhearit:
He looked slightly relieved. ”Okay, dandy. How long are you gonna stay for? If you know,” he asked, and moved over to a shadier spot when the sun started shining down on him.
Sultaan:
“Personally, I have no clue. I don’t usually believe in something until I have solid evidence. And it would be nice to see something new for a change,” he signed with a shrug. Sultaan stopped and looked at Reba. “We could go back, if you’d rather.”
summary!)
Colchi: "Ah no, you're right on the money today. I'm from Mt. Cutonon," he said in friendly tone, trying to mask any apprehension. The young man seemed nice enough.
Fig: "I have something to attend to," he said after a moment. "Reiyzl, you can take charge of the class again."
His right hand woman nodded her assent and he set out for the outskirts of town. As Callum said, he should be arriving any minute now.
(I gtg, i’ve got sum chores :P)
Bhearit:
He cocked his head slightly, but then shrugged. “Where are you from?” He asked. “You’re new here, I can tell. But I actually don’t get out that often so you could just be a new resident and I’m being ignorant again.” Bhearit sighed with slight frustration.
Reba: "Well... sometimes stories are just stories. But sometimes it is wise to respect them. The gods often communicate with mortals through stories."
She looked at her hooves. "What do you think? I trust your judgment. Are they real?"
Colchi: "Oh no, I'm sorry," he said, looking away, embarrassed. You are in another city, not a zoo! his internal voice reprimanded. Are you trying to start a fight?
He knew what it was like to be stared at.
Bhearit:
He rubbed his leg and let it down with a slight thud. Upon looking up, he realized that two centaurs were staring at him. The redhead blushed in embarrassment.
“Do you... need something?” He asked, straightening his back quickly.
Sultaan:
”There are rumors and stuff,” he signed casually with an additional shrug. “We can go see if it’s true.” He smiled at Reba, but then it shifted into slight concern. “What’s wrong?”
Rimecrest:
”Ma! What’s the recent news on the kidnapping?“ he shouted over the wind, which had kicked up especially that day. “Who did they kidnap?” Dewhill whipped her head toward the current so that her dark mane would flow behind her out of her face. “I’m not sure, but the gossip has been consisting of the capture of a couple of Sun Herd foals and the over-stallion! I won’t believe the last part though! Sun Herd would never let us get away with such a thing.”
Rimecrest sucked in air with disbelief. What? Really!? The Sun Herd over-stallion- Coalwing himself? “That would pretty stupid if Mountain Herd actually did that. It would start a war for sure!” he shouted, and his dam agreed with a nod.
The two made their way into a cave, which hosted several other sheltering pegasi. “And besides,“ Rimecrest said with a low voice to Dewhill. “Ever since Star’s time, Sun Herd has a pretty high reputation, and has a closer relationship with some of the other herds like Jungle Herd and stuff.“
Dewhill nodded. “I’m going to go listen in on gossip of the latest news. I’ll tell you the highlights later.”
“Okay, ma,” Rimecrest chuckled. “Have fun.”
Kilroy: He blushed, flattered by Romie's compliment. "No, he eats food like any other person," Chandra piped, missing the point. "Well, Romie, I'm going to cook you up something better than mushrooms and berries," said Lily, entering the kitchen and pouring the contents of a rice sack into a pot to boil.
Reba: "That is a strange thing to say, especially if no one has ever seen pegasi before," she said, a quizzical expression on her face. But then the expression quickly faded as she thought of her fear when she first arrived, that the local tribes would be hostile to her own. What did the gods say about such unusual settlement?
Carmela: She still made no motion, only meeting Topaz's eyes and waiting for instructions.
Colchi: Teabags in hand, he headed out the door with Eric behind him. It would be best to turn in for today, wouldn't it? But he wasn't satisfied yet... he wasn't ready for the day to be over.
As he exited, he noticed a youngish centaur standing around, as if to say, 'look at my Johirestown red hair, bet you don't see that at home, do you?'
(How should they start interacting?)
@Ashsong (Should Fig come out to greet Callum?)
Ben:
"Alright..." He smiled to himself then gently took her hand and interlocked their fingers. He guided Rayla's hand closer to him and planted a soft kiss right on the back of her hand. "Try to...get some sleep. Love you." Right as he trailed off, his body relaxed, his breathing slowed, and his gentle grip on her fingers loosened as he fell asleep.
Rayla She smiled at him, "I will after I eat."
Ben:
“Mhmm…” He mumbled faintly before rolling over to face Rayla. His eyes were closed as he reached out and gently stroked her knuckles with the back of his fingers.
“…you should try to…to get some sleep, too. You…had a long day, love.” He said groggily and already half-asleep.
Rayla: She closed the door for him, eating her sandwich after sitting next to him, "Sleep."
Ben:
He nodded thankfully with another wide yawn and groggily lumbered towards his room, barely able to keep his eyes open. From the exhilarating fight, to the near-death chokehold and injuries, and the restless sleep from the night before, Ben felt like a sinking boulder as he opened the door to his room. Without bothering to shut it, he pulled his jacket off, leaving only his shirt, and flung it carelessly into the closet. He was too tired to care that his tattoos were utterly exposed; he didn’t think Rayla would mind since she said she liked them anyway.
With a groan, he all but collapsed onto his bed. He stretched and sank deeper into the soft bedding, but before he would forget or fall asleep, he slid over so Rayla would have enough room to lay down besides him.
Yeesh! Where is everybody? XD)
Callum:
When he got well into the forest, exiting Sun Herd lands, he broke into a lope to speed up the journey. Now that he was alone, he could go at any pace he wanted. But due to his large size, it’d be harder to go any faster with the trees and bushes constantly getting in the way.
. . . .
Callum heard the commotion of a town before he could see it, and soon enough he arrived at the brink of Johirestown. There he took a pause for breath- which was the reason, he convinced himself.
“Okay, they are your own people and you’ve been here before. It’s a village, they won’t notice you,” he muttered, heavily shifting his weight from one hoof to another. “Yeah, for sure. They won’t notice a large, blond haired, mismatch eyed centaur suddenly arriving into town at all.”
He growled and lashed himself with his tail. “For Sun Herd,” Callum mumbled rather weakly as he made his way into Johirestown.
Bhearit:
He watched a young mare with crutches limp past from the Healer’s hut. Blimey, it must be hard to get around with her state, he thought consciously as he observed his own fore legs. He pawed the ground with his right and then lifted the other, examining the part below his knee. (This could be Colchi’s cue to come out now lol)
Rayla
"I'll go with you."
eric
"no problem!"
Evvie:
She smiled back at Eric’s reply. “Thank you Eric!” She called back as she exited the Healer’s hut. Oh dear, stairs. They were the hardest things to go down. With a frustrated grunt, she heaved her crutches forward onto the ground before the first stair and carefully stepped her hind legs down one after another before finally arriving safely on the flat earth. Evvie blew a stray strand of hair out of her face. Whoever must’ve watching would probably be weirded out by how strange and unnatural it was the way she descended the stairs. With a defiant shake of her head and straightening of her shoulders, the young mare continued on to the market.
(I forgot that Ulrani said that the Tavern should be closed early, so let’s just say she gave Evvie some money to buy her some lunch)
Ben:
He smiled and nodded, “Perfect; your sandwich is done, too.” He set it on a plate and handed it to her, but not before affectionately kissing her forehead. “I won’t deny it this time; I’m exhausted. I’m going to retire. If you’d like, you can eat in my room, or out here- where ever you’d wish.“
I want her close though…hopefully she chooses to eat closer. As he finished speaking, he yawned widely and rubbed a tired hand down his face.
Rayla
"the dishes are done, so we can relax." she told Ben
Hawkflight:
He landed back in the herd and traded breath with Sunpond for a moment. The young mare seemed relieved to be home, but also slightly sad and forlorn. Fawnroot, who had a full wingload of different roots and plants, bumped Hawkflight with her hip. “How’d it go?” She asked with a smart, smug look. Hawkflight snorted and rolled his eyes. “Fine…he…he gave some advice.” He grumbled, the tips of his ears turning pink.
The mare smiled, “Uh huh.“
“I could’ve figured something out on my own though! I didn’t need his help.” Hawkflight insisted in a last attempt to save any dignity or egotism he had left. “Right. Of course you would.“ Fawnroot’s voice was heavy with sarcasm and her wings shrugged.
Hawkflight snorted again then gathered the captains and they resumed their patrol, leaving Fawnroot in charge of the meadow.
eric:
"hope i see you soon teach!" he lokked over at colchi "nah i'll come with you"
Ulrani:
”Yes, and speaking of the Tavern, I say it’d do your legs some good to head over there and pick up my lunch usual, Evelyn dear,” she said suddenly, turning toward the malformed mare. “But take your time, just as it’s not too long. Oh wait, no- not to the Tavern, to the market.” She gave the young mare a few coins.
Evvie nodded silently, but her expression was no where near happy about it.
Evvie:
“It was nice meeting you, Eric,” she told him softly before heaving her crutches forward to make her way toward the door. ”Excuse me, sir,” Evvie said and the appaloosa in the way of the door quickly backed out.
“Sorry,” Ashtohn replied hastily.
Evvie couldn’t help but notice him hesitate a moment when he saw her legs.
Sultaan:
”I don’t know,” he signed, straightening. “We came from the land Centauri, (Latin for centaur :P) and are one of the first congregations to settle this far west.“ (Kind of like Jamestown in the 1600s) Sultaan shrugged slightly. “Some say that Anok isn’t free to take, and that it’s owned by pegasi,” he added, beginning to walk forward again.
Romie:
More food sounded really good! “In fact, Mrs. I-Chose-A, berries and mushrooms are some of the foods I eat.” He nudged Kilroy. “I think this man eats knowledge.” He was unaware of the relation between Kilroy’s parents.
Colchi: "I think I'm gonna head back to the Tavern, but you can chill here if you want."
eric:
he sighed "okay thats good"
