Almost 6 months had passed since Star's death.
Brackensky was growing into a spunky filly. Sweetroot said she would live.
Morningleaf's heart was broken. She never smiled or laughed. Her herd noticed this change and were saddened by it. She had always been a happy mare till now. But at her 3 years of age she knew she would never have another foal or mate.
Starleaf ran up to his mother. "Mama can I go play?!" He asked happily.
"Yes," She mumbled as he flew away. Tears burned her eyes. "Star why did you have to leave me!?" She sobbed laying down. Then she was swept into a deep sleep.
When she opened her eyes she saw Star! "Star!" She whinnied happily as she flew to him.
"Morningleaf!" He whinnied back as he held her in his wings.
"Why did you leave me?! Why Star?!" She asked.
"It was my time Morningleaf. Yours is not now go back live your life. Don't stay here now! Please!" He begged gently.
"No! Star I cant leave you again!" She sobbed.
Star gently released her. "Morningleaf! Live the life that got cut short for me! Please don't stay here!"
Morningleaf Her eyes filled with tears. "Ok Star! I wont stay! I just love you so much I am so sorry!"
She opened her eyes and saw the dream fade away. "Star!" She moaned.
Echofrost looked into her eyes. "Are you ok?"
Morningleaf closed her eyes. "Yes. I'm sorry for how I have been acting I need to live my life for Star. Not just for me!" She smiled gently.
Echofrost smiled. "I knew you would know!"
Morningstar woke up to the squawks of Brokenheart wanting breakfast. "Coming boy!" She got up and grabbing some clams she raised her hoof and cracked them open then left them for Brokenheart. The water of the ocean was cold when she entered it but it felt good as the day became hotter and hotter. She had never seen another orca since that day long ago. She found a bed of kelp and dug in! She loved the taste of it. Her body was growing strong and lean so she kept swimming to keep her self fit.
I loved it!
