Ashley Tanya Chanel was one of those girls that didn't belong in large crowds. She's the kind of girl that like to talk, only to her friends, and loves strange things to "normal" people. For example, she is number one in the state for horseback riding and 17th in the state for Ice skating.

"Ash!" her mother called.

Ashley blinked and turned her head towards Wendy Willonburgh, her mother.

"what!?" she called out and got of the table of her Mini House's kitchen table. Her "house" was more like a big shed on wheels. The attic of Mini, as she calls it, was were her and all her siblings slept. A small indoor bathroom that includes a minature shower, toilet, and sink/cabinets. They had a minature kitchen, minature living room, and so on. Also, one bedroom for their parents built next to the attic.

Ashley's mom came in, "hey, were touring your new middle school soon, lets go!"

Ashley mumbled and sighed a "yes mom"

Ashley put on a t-shirt, leggings, combed her long shiny black hair into a ponytail, and tugged on her dark blue sneakers.

"i'm coming!" she said hurredly.

She heard the engine start up and rushed in to the back of her mother's beat up Prius. They headed towards Paradise Valley Middle school that supposedly had a stellar horseback riding program. Ashley heaved and sigh, she missed her old school in Minnesota and all her old friends she made going to 6 different schools.

California was first, then Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, Kentucky, Minnesota, and lastly New York.

They arrived at the school. blinding white paint blinded her momentarily, sky blue doors gleamed with gold frames. A breeze blew by, tousling her hair gently. The principal ran out and waved at us and said "hey!" as soon as we parked. "lets tour the 6th grade wings, follow me!" she walked inside, leaving us to follow her.

She whispered to her mom, "is it me or does she seem a little too cheerful"

Her mom laughed "the principal is indeed cheery today! lets go!"

Ashley giggled uncontrollably, "ok!" and followed her in to (not suprising) even more shiny white walls. When we reached the principals room, we sat down as bthe Principal gestured us to do.

"so," she said "my name is Alexandra Carter or Principal Carter" she said smiling. "lets meet some kids. Charlotte! Winter! here trhey are!" she called smiling a little too brightly.

"these are some of our best students" she smiled to mom. "Charlotte is the brown haired one, Winter is the platinum one"

I looked disgustedly at Winter. Her face was smothered with heavy makeup that didn't match. Then, I looked at Charlotte. No makeup, completely natural except for her small amont of honey blond tips.

Mom saw my face and smiled at me not to say anythging.

Winter noticed too and sneered at me.

Charlotte snorted and smiled apologetically.

Principal Carter didn't appear to notice anything.

she said "well, Charlotte, Winter, show Ashley around" she prodded.

Charlotte smiled sweetly "follow me, lets go to the stables"

It was Winter's turn to look disgusted "why? its not like Ashley's going to care"

Ashley scowled "I do care"

Charlotte grinned "as Alexandra sayed, im Charlotte and this is Winter"

I nodded.

She quickly added "you can call me Char"

I nodded.

Char, Winter and I entered the stabkles. the sweet scent of horses, hay, and manure calmed me.

Char went over to a pretty dark dappled grey mare.

She smiled. "this one is mine, her name is Stars in the night. do you have a horse?"

I frowned. 'no, i use the school's or wherever. My favorite so far is Ginger Honey"

Char smiled "thats great"

I sensed a friend.

Winter rolled her eyes "why are these dumb animal's name so like stupid and long?"

I glared at her "will you just back off?"

Char covered her mouth ad whispered to me "no, don't make her mad"

Winter grinned evily "how about never?"

I sighed inwardly and giggled "serioluly? thats the best you can come up with?"

Winter glared "and thjats what you can come up with?" and stomped off.

After the tour, Mom and I slept the whole day away.

My mind drifting away into dreamland.
