Hi! I am back with another chapter! I hope you like where I am taking the story! Please post comments so I know how I am doing. This chapter may raise a lot of questions...😉
“Why me?” Morningmist whinnied. Her confusion was plain on her face.
“Everyone would listen to the daughter of Star. You could convince the council of the United Herds to let me be Overstallion!” Icefeather trumpeted. Pebblewind rolled his eyes.
“Do you not realize he is manipulating you?” He questioned Icefeather’s guards. “If he becomes Overstallion, you are going to be treated like nothing more than a few flies. Trust me, I speak from experience.” Lakeroot nodded.
The guards stated to look uneasy, and a third of them went to stand by Morningmist. Icefeather looked furious.
“You can’t be talking, Pebblewind!” Spiderhoof neighed. “You are evil and manipulative! You wanted starfire too!” Pebblewind snorted.
“The same thing could be said about you!” Pebblewind turned to address the remaining guards. “What do you want to be known as? Betrayers?” More guards came to Morningmist’s side.
“Stop!” Icefeather commanded, horrified that his guards were leaving him. “Stop this instant or we will kill Starfrost!” Everyone stood still.
Riversun glared at Icefeather. “Our group outnumbers yours. Do you want to die?” She whinnied. Icefeather rattled his feathers in fury.
“Fine,” he snarls, “you win.” Icefeather turns and runs, and only Spiderhoof follows him.
Morningmist and Riversun fly over to Starfrost’s side. Riversun immediately heals him using her golden starfire.
“Thank you.” Starfrost neighs, and stands up. “Now we can finally get to the Trap. How far are we now?”
“You are currently in Canyon Meadow. You would just have to go through the Wastelands.” Lakeroot offers. Morningmist nods. “If you leave now, you will arrive just in time for your first birthday.”
“Why would that be important? I am not a black foal or anything.” Morningmist looks down at her hooves. “I don’t even get it. Why is everyone going after me?” Riversun and Starfrost shrug.
“So you haven’t heard the Prophecy of Five?” Lakeroot nickered, surprised.
“What is that?” Riversun neighed. “I don’t remember hearing about it. Can you tell us what it is?” Lakeroot nods.
“The Prophecy of Five was that last thing Star told us before he left and never returned. Some pegasi think that it is true, while others think it is false. It goes like this...
There will be Five
Sons and Daughters of heroes
One will be the Daughter of the Destroyer,
Her path leads in two directions, shadows and light
Another will be the Son of Fire and Snow,
He must beware the spider’s bite
Two of them are Twins far away,
They must not be left behind
The last one will be the Leader,
The Daughter of Stars and of the Morning,
She must find the Star’s secret by her birthday,
Then she can find the ones that are Lost
Together they will Stand
Between Destruction and Uniting
Of all Pegasi
“So I am supposed to be the leader?” Morningmist asked. Lakeroot nodded. Starfrost and Riversun looked equally shocked.
“Who are the twins? What is the secret of the stars? What is the spider’s bite? What destruction do we have to face?” Morningmist asked.
“How am I supposed to know? It is a prophecy after all. We have no idea what most of it means.” Lakeroot shot back.
Somehow, the prophecy made Morningmist feel even worse. How was she supposed to save all of Anok?
