Chapter 7 “Your mate is Riversun?!" Riverblaze exclaimed, shocked. Thornfrost quickly shushed her. “Be quiet, you're going to get us killed!” Stormsun frowned, “How?” Thornfrost sighed. “If Stormtail finds out my mate is Riversun, he will kill me,” Thornfrost growled, “He guards Riversun all day, because her mother was Petalcloud, and he doesn’t let her be around anyone for too long.” Thornfrost snorted, “He thinks he’s helping her, but ever since last year, she’s been wanting to escape, because no one can live a real life here.” He nudged Riversun. Riversun looked at him, and leaned against him. “All I want is too leave this horrible place,” she said. Riverblaze lay down next to her, “Don’t worry,” she said, “Me and Stormsun will escape, and we’ll take you guys with us.” Riversun smiled, “Oh, sweetheart, I don’t think it’s that easy,” she said, just as a large shadow past overhead, and Seastone landed in front of them, glaring. “Well, well, well,” he said, “What’s going on here, hm?” he raised an eyebrow, staring at them. Riversun stood. “Nothing,” she said, her expression blank. “Then why are you here?” he hissed. “I’m leaving right now,” she said, glaring, and took off. “You stay away from that mare, yeah? Or I’ll tell Stormwing,” Seastone snorted. Thornfrost took a deep breath, “Yeah,” he whispered, and watched Riversun fly away, her tail waving behind her like a banner. Riverblaze inhaled, and took a step towards Seastone, but Stormsun blocked her. “I know what you want to do, don’t,” she said to Riverblaze. Riverblaze huffed and shoved her nose into the tall green grass. Stormsun did the same and so did Thornfrost and Seastone. Riverblaze silently cried, her wings shedding feathers and her body trembling. All she wanted was too go home and be with her family! Stormsun bumped Thornfrost with her hip. “Can we, like, I don’t know, fly? I don’t want to be around him,” she pointed her nose towards Seastone. Thornfrost shook his head. “He won't let us,” he whispered. “We are going to the cave,” Seastone neighed, “Where the other foals are.” Thornfrost glared at him, but then turned to the fillies. “Follow me,” he said, and lifted off after Seastone. They flew towards a small mountain. On the side of it was a large entrance to a dark cave, and they landed in front of it. They slowly walked in, and Riverblaze gasped at what she saw. Moss and small green plants grew on the floor of the cave, a small pond was in the middle, and the light coming from a small hole in the celling reflected off of the multiple jewels and crystals that were incrusted in the stone wall. But what was most surprising were all the wide-eyed foals and nickering dams, playing or resting in the large cave. “What is this place?” Stormsun asked and turned to Thornfrost and Seastone. “This were the mothers and foals stay. We have this cave because it’s always cold for the newborns and foals, especially for the ones that aren’t from the north.” Thornfrost said. “Do they ever leave?” Riverblaze asked. “Of course! They just stay here for the night and evening,” Thornfrost answered. “Tonight, you will also be staying here,” Seastone said, “Thornfrost, you’re coming with me.” Riverblaze watched them fly out of the cave and sighed.
