Chapter 6 “We’ve arrived,” Stormtail brayed. Riverblaze looked up and gasped as she saw over a thousand winged steeds, grazing in the meadow. They landed in the grassy meadow, that still had a few spots covered in snow. Stormtail turned to Thornfrost and the grey stallion, whose name was Seastone. “You will not let the fillies out of your sights,” he neighed and lifted off and flew away, greeting his herd, who did not seem all to happy to see him. Stormtail landed beside a black piebald mare, who didn’t look to happy to see him, either. Riverblaze reared. She remembered her father saying that Nightwing and Petalcloud had a filly before they died, a black piebald with black tipped violet feathers! This mare looked just like her! Riverblaze squinted, yes this was definitely her. She nudged Stormsun, who was grazing on the lush green grass. “What is it?” Stormsun asked. “I think Riversun is here.” she answered, and pointed at the black piebald mare, who was now preening her feathers, while Stormtail stood over her, watching. Stormsun gasped. “You think it’s her?” But Riverblaze couldn’t answer, for now Seastone was speeking. “Will you watch them?” he asked Thornfrost, and pointed with his wing at Riverblaze and Stormsun. “I want to see my mate.” Thornfrost said, “Of course.” Seastone nodded and lifted off, flying towards a steep mountain, were many pegasi were standing or flying. Thornfrost turned to the fillies. “Let’s get some sleep, shall we?” The sun was already starting to set, and they were exhausted from the long flight. Riverblaze’s knees buckled and she lay down in the grass, and Stormsun lay down next to her. Thornfrost leaned against Stormsun, and he put his wing around both of them. Riverblaze woke up when she heard whispering. She heard Thornfrost’s voice, and also a female voice, that did not belong to Stormsun. She tried to peer at Thornfrost, but Stormsun was asleep in between them, and Riverblaze didn’t want to wake her up, so instead, she listened. “I’m sorry I couldn’t visit you earlier, but Stormtail’s been watching me like a hawk,” said the female voice. “That’s alright, but someday we’ll have to tell him about are relationship,” Thornfrost said and sighed. “I want to escape from this nonsense, and join River Herd and be free,” the female whispered. “Someday we will, and we will have a foal of our own, that will be safe from Stormtail and his worshippers.” Thornfrost said. “You really think so?” the female voice asked, just as Stormsun opened her eyes and looked up. Riverblaze stood up in surprise, and Thornfrost looked up at her, his eyes wide, but then he smiled, and looked at the female beside him, and back at her. “Good morning Riverblaze, I’d like you to meet Riversun, my mate.”
