Alright! So, here is some backstory! Back when I first finished the series some years ago, I was inspired! So, I drew the scene where Nightwing battled Star in Windborn. A couple weeks ago, I decided to redraw that picture! And I decided to show you the results today!
So, this is the original piece!

It's great right!? A mix of black and white lineart and Bumblewind's tower meshes with the clouds, which somehow don't cover the whole sky, XD Not to mention there's no shadows or lighting from the lightning, OR the hypothetical sunlight that MUST be peeking through!
Now, HERE'S the redraw! Drumroll please!

TADA! A huge improvement, am I right? NOW the weather is normal, there's no black and white lineart (I went with a dark gray so as to not melt into the main colors), and there are shadows and lightning! Overall, a GREAT improvement!
Well, I hope you enjoyed this little post! I just wanted to showcase my improvement! I may make a future Art Challenge where you guys have to redraw an old piece of art once the one I'm currently hosting is finished! It's really fun!
HOLY PEANUT BUTTER! dang, you were GOOD a few years ago! At first, I actually thought that first one was the After picture XDD a few years ago, I think I was still drawing stick horses LOL You have improved a lot, but a few yars sfo, you were
Thank you so much! That's what years of drawing will get ya! And the original was actually a product of YEARS AND YEARS of drawing horses on a drawing board! (For those who may not know, a drawing board was essentially a plastic board where you could draw and erase pictures at will, I spent a LOT of time on that thing, Lol!)
@Skysun XD yeah, I have SO MANY lined paper notebooks just FILLED with drawings from years like 4-10 LOL. I like to go through them and just laught at myself when I was younger. It's fun though, for me to look through them and see how much better my art's gotten over time : )
@Riverglade IKR!? Sadly most of my art in my early years was done on the drawing board, so it's lost to oblivion now, LOL! I wanted to see how much I improved artistically which is why I redrew the picture. It's a fun exercise and it a better tool to see how much you've improved vs two seperate drawings, although those can be good too!
This is your picture?!?! I remember seeing this on this sites fan art page and I thought it looked great at the time, but WOW, your redraw looks AWESOME!!!
By the way, I'd be totally in to doing a challenge featuring this picture
Thank you so much! I appreciate it! It makes me want to share more of my art with you guys! I'm SO glad I joined the Message ! :)
@Skysun Please do! Your art is Awesome, and I would LOVE to see more!
