In every genre of any story whether it be a book or a movie, there will always be favorites. There will always be antagonists and protagonists to every series, but that what i love about it. Good vs bad, light vs dark, heroes vs villains! Also, in every genre, there are the favorite heroes.

My favorite heroes in TGH, in my opinion, are Star, Silverlake, Bumblewind, Shadepebble, and Dewberry.

But, no one really talks about the favorite villains.

Like in the Marvel Universe, all the focus are on the Avengers-the heroes. But what about the villains? The villains are the whole reason why there are heroes. Without villains and tragic backstories, heroes would not exists. My all time favorite villain in the MCU is Loki-the God of Mischief and Thor's adopted brother. I love his cocky and mischievous attitude, not to mention his shapeshifting and illusion powers.

But what about in TGH? Which villains are the worst? Which are the best? Who strikes fear in the hearts of heroes? Who is the most powerful? Who makes the best heroes look like weak, vulnerable foals? Well, I'm go talk about my top 3 favs and why they are my favs.

1. Petalcloud: OOOOHHHHHH BOY! She was a GREAT villain, even better than Nightwing in my opinion! Sure, Nightwing was the more powerful villain with the sinister plan for Anok, but Petalcloud was cruel, power-hungry, and manipulative. She knew what made the heroes tick and how to make them weak. Just thinking about all the things Petalcloud has done gives me chills. ALSO, she sold her own and only son for freedom. Like, who does that? That's just terrible and THAT'S also what makes a good villain.

2. Rockwing: Oooh boy like Petalcloud, he was a GREAT villain too! I mean they are related so I'm not surprised. Being a vengeful over-stallion, he was an amazing villain and I was happy to see him die-he was a jerk-face and tried to make a pact with Star when he was just a weanling. WOW-that's a low blow Rockwing. Ordering Frostfire to capture Morningleaf from Star and torture her in Jungle herd-Rockwing's idea. Trying to make a pact with Star-Rockwing. Trying to make a pact with Nightwing-Rockwing. Killed Grasswing and his son(in the bonus short story)-ROCKWING. YEAH-he did some awful stuff

3. Riversun.....? : Okay okay I know. She's a newborn in WINDBORN, but I think she'll grow up to make an AWESOME villain. The daughter of both Nightwing and Petalcloud; OH YEAH you better believe she'll be good! Now, I know, she's a newborn and we don't even know if she has the Starfire. But, she's being raised by Stormtail, Petalcloud's most trusted, and right-hand stallion! The point is, Stormtail stayed behind in the Interior to raise Petalcloud's filly, while Star, Morningleaf, and the rest of the herd moved back towards central Anok to rebuild Bumblewind's tribute elsewhere. But BECAUSE Riversun is not with the heroes of the story, is why I believe she'll grow up tp be the new villain. She's being raised by Stromtail and all the other warriors from Petalcloud's army to teach her. Both parents are dead, and Stormtail is going to fill her head with lies and that's what's going to lead her to the dark side-an innocent filly being persuaded by cruel, angry, and cold-hearted stallions, while we all know the truth.
