Summary:
The rescue was mostly successful! Skysong, Skysun, and the foals (Rainfeather and Skystorm) have been rescued! However, Galewind is still captured and Tealflame and Spiritstorm were killed in the rescue attempt, leaving Aquafeather devastated over her brother’s death. Moonsky and Aquafeather got into a small fight over something Skystorm said. Tealflame’s death has caused other members of Freedom Herd to think of their own family members sacrifices. Aspenleaf, Nightheart, Moonfrost, and Crystalroot recently joined Freedom Herd. Aspenleaf is pregnant with Woodwind‘s (her friend killed by Riversun) foal. Meanwhile, Galewind is trying to escape from Night Herd. Ashflame is following her, thinking that Galewind will lead her to the foals. Riversun is furious, so watch out everyone...

He hung his head. "I'm sorry Aquacloud. I was out of line. Please forgive me." He said, "Skystorm say you're sorry."

”I am sorry too.” She nickered. “I shouldn’t have snapped at Skystorm like that.” She looks around. “I’d better get some sleep.”
She picks up the feather trudges to a far corner of the shelter.

She growled, chasing after Galewind. Flapping as fast as she could when she suddenly had a thought, 'If I follow her...she may take me straight to the rebels...and the foals...' She thought with a smirk.
Galewind:
Wait- Why aren't they yelling? She thought, confused. Surely it can't be this easy to escape.
Ashflame:
She dove to the side, watching Galewind from a distance but keeping out of her line of sight.

"So THAT'S what I feel..." She murmured.

"How are you all doing?" SHe asked.

She looks at Skysun. “Her heart is beating!” She nickers. “She is coming back!”

Back at the Trap, her heart began to beat, weakly, but it was beating nonetheless.
Snowstone:
He looked away with tears in his eyes. "Tell my sisters I'm proud of them, Skysun. Your body is calling you back." He told her.
Aquafeather:
”At least Skysun and your foals aren’t dead.” She nickers. “They are still captured though, and we will have to save them. Duskfeather just lost her sister, and I know how she feels.” She nickers sadly.
Tealflame:
”Thank you.” He nickered. “Oh look! You are waking up!”
Riversun:
She nickers in anger, but can’t do anything because she has to maintain the shield.
Skysun:
She then felt a tug, as if something were pulling her in the direction of the Trap.
Stormsun:
She hit the orb.
Skysun:
She nods, "Of course I'll tell her..." She murmured.
Moonbreeze:
She lifted into the sky, heading for the trap.
Moonsky:
"We are both grieving." He said.
Tealflame:
”Tell her to get over my death. I am happy here, with my parents. She has a herd to lead.” He nickers. “Thank you for being such a good friend to her. I know she really appreciated it (Just look at her farewell speech to Skysun!)
Aquafeather:
”How is Duskfeather holding up? It was her sister who died...”
ASpenleaf:
She got the herbs she was looking for, and headed back to the others.
Crystalroot:
"Just Duskfeather and Moonsky's wings I think." She said
Aquafeather:
”Well, Petalfir is still dead.” She nickered sadly. “How are everyone’s wounds?” She asked Crystalroot. “Who is hurt?”
Snowstone:
He gasped, watching Galewind risk her life to protect the foals.
Stormsun:
She shook her head. She felt weak, but she wouldn't leave.
Skysun:
She looked at Tealflame, "Of course...what do you want me to say?"
Galewind:
"Go," She told Stormsun, not wanting her to get captured.
Dreamflight:
”I am not a little filly, I am weaned. Can I help?” (Like when three year olds say that they are “big kids” now. 😜)

She glared into the black piebald mare's eyes.
Galewind:
"Just stay behind me," She told Dreamflight.
Moonsky:
"I will too Aquacloud. I will give my life for them. Thank you for being my friend." He said softly

”Really?” She nickered. “I guess we will have to wait for her. Hopefully it won’t take more than a moon.” She shivered. “But, Moonsky, I meant what I said earlier. I will do whatever it takes to rescue your foals.”
Stormsun:
She neighed.
Icewind:
Where is Riversun? He thought. She's been gone for a while... He took off in search of them.
Moonsky:
"Like what happened to Star." He blurted out
Moonsky:
"The starfire didn't kill her look!" He pointed to the bruse. "That's all it did."
Stormsun:
She kicked the orb. (Will Riversun capture her????)
Riversun:
She was concentrating so hard on keeping the bubble intact and moving it, she was distracted from the battle (I find it hard to believe that she would do nothing!) She sees that they are being attacked, so she uses her starfire to give the bubble an extra boost.
Aquafeather:
”She is still alive?” She wipes the tears of her face with her wing. ”How?
Tealflame:
He finds Skysun. (Where ever she is...) “When you go back, there is something I want you to tell Aquafeather.”

Galewind:
SHe ignored the pain in her wings and face, and stood firm, pushing the twins behind her. "never," She told Ashflame in a firm voice.
Stormsun:
She hovered right next to the orb.

She grabbed Skystorm's tail, pulling him back and putting him behind her, her light blue wings spread angrily.

He barroled into Ashflame

She groaned in pain. "I'm fine, Skystorm, don't worry," She lied. She turned to Ashflame. "Do you expect me to give up after THAT?" She said.

She hissed and crashed down on the orb, sending it spinning.

"Stop!" He shouted
Ashflame:
She growled, "You think THAT will teach me a lesson?!" She hissed, rearing and crashing down on Galewind's broken wings, pressing down hard on the broken limbs, "You have NO idea what I'm capable of!"
Galewind:
She stepped in front of the foals. "How did it feel getting a taste of your own medicine?" She asked Ashflame.

"And what about steeds outside your herd? Do you care about them?" She asked, know she was pushing the limits.

What do I do? She sighed.

She nodded thoughtfully, pretending to be very intriguied. "You're connected by your leader?" She asked. "What about your connection to each other, as herdmates?"
Ashflame:
"We're all connected in our loyalty to our leaders." She nickered with a shrug, "Most are good steeds, just like ANY herd."
Galewind:
She pricked her ears. "That's the physical stuff, I was wondering about Night Herd itself, the steeds, their personalities, the community."
Skystorm:
"And you are fwll of jwrks!" He snarled
Ashflame:
She snorts, "For starters, we have the strongest pegasus in Anok in our herd." She nickered, "Secondly, we have enough grazing for everyone!"

She grimaced in pain and as a shock of pain shot through her broken wings. she looked at Rainfeather sympathetically, not sure how to tell her Skysun is dead.

"You ARE a part of Night Herd now, foal!" She snapped, "Night Herd is your new home!"

She looked at Galewind, "She no hurt us!" She nickered softly to Galewind, "Mama here!"
