So when I was recently rereading Starfire I noticed that there are ranks listed the book that are not seen anywhere else in the series. For instance, in chapter 15 it says Hazelwind was promoted to the rank of under-captain, and later in that chapter it states that Crystalfeather had been appointed captain by Maplecloud. I was wondering if anyone else noticed positions/ranks that were mentioned in the books but weren't heavily emphasized.

I was always wondering if mare captain ended with fire! :D
Yeah
I think it does.
Lol. We should ask Mrs. Alvarez about that.
I wonder if a female captain's name would end with 'fire' as well, it would make sense, but it doesn't say in the books
Yes. I forgot to mention that. Also, a male captain’s name always ends in “fire”.
Well, then can't the stallions also become Captains?
Yea.
I think that any stallions in the army if they aren’t captains or under-captains are under-stallions. Battle mares are the same rank as understallions, but they are obviously mares. Mares can become captains, as shown with Crystalfeather.
Is Under-Stallion one of the ones you mean? Because in Starfire, Hazelwind is also an under-stallion, which is a stallion without any position yet basically, but I don't think it's mentioned elsewhere in the series
