Its been a few days since Brackentail heard Star's and Morningleaf's conversation. They havent told the herd anything yet, and Brackentail was grateful, but they were always together. Those past days Brackentail was planning on how to win Morningleaf, and he had come up with one quickly.
That night Brackentail saw Star nicker to Morningleaf, saying he was going to the lake to get a drink. The lake was about 2 miles away, so Star couldnt see Morningleaf. This is my chance, Brackentail thought. Once Star left Brackentail quickly went over to Morningleaf. "Follow me," he nickered. Morningleaf had a questioning look on her face but she followed. Brackentail led her into the forest where no one could see them. Brackentail stopped and turned around, facing Morningleaf. He brushed her face with his wing, making her tense, but soon she relaxed. "You know I would do anything for you right?" he asked. Morningleaf's eyes widened but she nodded. Brackentail put his wing over Morningleaf's neck and pulled her up to him. He pressed his face onto hers and breathed into her nostrils. Morningleaf tensed again and didnt relax. She didnt move though, wanting to see what happened. Brackentail moved his head and brushed both of Morningleaf's cheeks with his wings. Morningleaf's eyes widened again and she moved away, then mumbled "I better get back to Star," and flew off. Brackentail sighed but was excited. He made his first move, and the rest should be easy.
