I was teaching my youngest sister how to write a story and this was what came of it.
Percy Jackson was running through the woods with a bunny on his tail, “Help!” He called
“Get back here!” The bunny said chasing after the foul-smelling boy.
Percy Jackson wouldn’t risk a glance. What kind of monster could this possibly be! Did it spit acid? Breath fire? Turn into something else? Something deadly? He didn’t really want to stick around to find out. He vaulted over a fallen tree and continued his sprint through the trees. The sun beginning to set.
The bunny was gaining on the boy as it flashed across the green grass, it’s white fur sprinkled in brown flecks from the mud he was kicking up.
He couldn’t help it anymore. With a glance behind him, he tripped over a tree root and fell to the soft wet ground getting covered in mud. He turned towards the bunny and bit his lip. “Please don’t kill me!” He didn’t really think this would work, but at least then he could tell Annabeth when she came to beat him up in the underworld for dying that he had at least asked the monstrous bunny not to kill him before it had chomped his head off.
The bunny leapt onto the boys stomach and crawled to his chest looking into the sea green eyes. “Hello! I had fun playing chase and it looks like I won!”
Percy cocked his head and gave the bunny a funny look, “Wait, What! So, you aren’t going to kill me?” he was both relived and confused. He had questions but decided those could wait.
“why would I kill you? We were just playing.” The bunnies eyes widened, “Do your games usually end in death?”
Percy bit his lip. Strang thing was that he could answer yes to that, but he didn’t think it would be right to do so… so he answered, “Maybe,”
The bunny jumped a foot in the air before it flashed out of sight. Percy sat up and looked at his Mud stained self. ‘How will I explain this one?’ he thought to himself as he walked away. ‘I know. I will say I was attacked by potty sludge! Ya…wait. No. Bad idea…no one wants to hear that. Oh, I know!’ He made it back to camp and no one paid him any mind, “I was attacked by-,”
“No one cares! You are the main character. All the bad things happen to you, but you won’t die!” A random camper called.
