Moon awoke in another of her dreams, but this time it was different instead of the pure white hill she was used to, it was black, and covered in ash. She bit back a gasp of shock, as she saw Pegasi bones littering the valley below her.
“I’m glad I could make it here tonight,” said a familiar voice, Darkheart landed Infront of Moon. Darkheart sadly looked at the surroundings, “You see all this,” he gestured to the valley below with his wing, “I’m capable of this,” Darkheart sighed, “But, I don’t want any of this to happen!”
Moon nodded “Alright,” she nickered a bit scared.
Darkheart looked down at Moon, “You’re not yet a yearling, you will get your powers soon,” Darkheart said, “You will choose your fate, at midnight on your first birthday, your power, will help set me free,”
“A-alright, as I’ve said before, I will help you, no matter the cost,” Moon said firmly.
Darkheart gazed at Moon, with sadness, “That’s what I’m afraid of,”
Moon tilted her head, “What? The cost it takes to save you?” she asked.
Darkheart lowered his head to look into Moon’s eyes, “That the cost will destroy you, I-I don’t want to lose you,” he nickered, a small tear slid down his face, and landed on the ash filled ground below, sprouting a single black and white flower.
Moon reached out her wing and gently brushed Darkheart’s face, “Don’t worry” she whispered, “You’ll never lose me,”
