You don't need to get an artist marker, unless you want to. A pretty decent marker is just a sharpie. They aren't that pricy and come in a lot of colors. I do plan on getting more artsy markers, but for fun drawings and an easy marker to use, Sharpies actually do a pretty good job. And you can get those at craft stores.
I vote whole heartedly, Ohuhu (They aren't at Joanns or Michales but are on amazon and are really good and are pretty cheep). Other than that, I'd say Artist's loft (They are at Michales, but those are pretty expensive)

I don't use markers, but I agree with Wind. From the art videos I've watched, ohuhus are seem to be really good.
