My birthday is coming up and people keep asking what I want, I want art supplies but I'm not sure which ones are worth getting so I was wondering which art supplies are your favorite.
Depends on what you want to do? But i will tell you my favorites and what i use them for.
for sketching I recently bought a new pencil set with my birthday money which i call The Sketch Gang. It is from Arteza. A brand i would recommend. I have used this set to do my recent sketches and i am extremely happy with my purchase. The link
For coloring i really love my Prismacolor pencil set. The pigment is very bright and due to its high wax level the colors blend very well. my picture of San Braze with the half helmet is colored in with the prismacolor pencils. Just be aware that with a wax based pecil someting called Wax bloom happens. Wax bloom is when the wax makes a covering on top of the color. It will make shine sometimes textured looking surface. You can scratch it off, but it also acts as a cover for the color and keeps it all sealed and hard to smudge. the link
Another brand of pencil i like is called blackwidow. I have bought their skin tone sets and they work really well. They don't blend as well as the prismacolor ones, but you can get a very similar result if you work them hard enough. I used these on my OC's Firesongs body( My profile pic). link
Another fun thing to try is Arteza's real brush pens. I used these on my picture of Hida. They are basically watercolor in a brush pen. It is really fun though i really recommend watching some tutorials first...and if you ask for these. i recomoend some watercolor paper. You will have the best results with it but it isn't needed. link.
I like Prismacolors + a ballpoint or Pilot G2 gel pens to outline. (You have to wait for it to dry so it doesn't smudge though.) And just a regular pink eraser. :)
~ A Sketchbook (Strathmore brand, 60 or 70 lb paper)
I use the Amazon Basics Premium Colored Pencils 72 set, which are very similar to Prismacolors, which are more expensive. I like to have a bug variety of colors because it's easier to shade with.
I also use a large pencil set with different lead softnesses, and the set also came with charcoal and some other stuff, but I don't remember the brand.
if I come up with anything else I'll let you know.
The pencils that I LOVE are the Prismacolor premier. They're kinda expensive, but worth it.

Then just art paper. I like arteza and clear art paper the best do far.
(The links are the kinds i have. A lot of them have different options for the amount of you get or the price of said thing.)
Also...you can't go wrong with a sharpie!

I often use any sketchbook I can get my hands on that won’t bleed through with sharpies and a thin line sharpie
Sketchbook (watercolor/ sketch/ muti media)
Prismacolor pencils (or the ones Riverglade said)
Kneaded eraser.
Ink markers? Idk what type of art you like to do so yeah
