Whirlstar:

”Yes,“ he said softly. “Out of all the warriors who vied for the position of deputy, you were the one that spoke the most to me. You were compassionate, kind, and only wished to serve your clanmates.”

Moonstream:

She was very flattered. “Thank you, Whirlstar. It will be an honor to serve by your side.”

Whirlstar:

He nodded and continued to address the gathered clans. “Crowleaf, my medicine cat, sadly passed away in the flood. We will always remember Crowleaf’s name. Shadepaw will become RiverClan’s next medicine cat.”

Shadepaw

She didn't know Moonstream very well, but she sensed that she would be a good deputy.

Whirlstar:

”Moonstream,” he called. “Please take your place by the other deputies.”

Moonstream:

”Me?” The word fell out of her mouth without her being able to stop it. She had been hopeful during the deputy trials, but she had never thought that she would be chosen. The once kittypet? It seemed impossible.

Riptide:

She rolled her eyes. Moonstream was far too humble.

Whirlstar:

He could feel Stripestar’s look, but he did not acknowledge it. “Clovertail, our deputy, served RiverClan well for many years. We will continue to miss Clovertail’s presence, but we must move on. Over the past few days, I have been searching my clan for the new deputy.”

Riptide:

She knew that it wouldn’t be her. Too bad. She had lost the battle, but the war was still undecided. The next battle? It would be against either Whirlstar or his new deputy.

Violethaze:

Who would the deputy be? She watched Whirlstar carefully. There were plenty of choices for the position, but not all of them would lead RiverClan to greatness.

Stripestar

He shot Whirlstar a disgusted look.

Beechstar

He dipped his head respectfully in return.

Shadepaw

She looked up at Whirlstar.

Hazelleaf:

Was Stripestar going to say anything about this? She felt slightly miffed.

Whirlstar:

He was grateful for the distraction from what had just happened. “That is excellent news. Thank you very much.” He dipped his head in gratitude towards Beechstar.

Violethaze:

She was jittery and nervous, but she had done it! She exhaled and tried to calm down.

Beechstar

He informed Whirlstar that a rogue had found one of the missing kits, and that kit was resting in SkyClan's medicine den. "We will bring the kit back tomorrow if possible" he added.

Shadepaw

She looked around, seeing the tension and feeling awkward. She missed Crowleaf...

Whirlstar:

He hesitated for a moment. “Violethaze,” he began, “if you wish to change the name I have given to, you can talk to me about your reasonings after the Gathering is over.” He struggled to maintain his calm. “We will talk about your options, then.”

Violethaze:

She nodded, satisfied for now. “Thank you,” she muttered before finally stepping back.

Hazelleaf:

”Apprentices these days,” she muttered. “So rebellious.”

Beechstar

His expression was only one of curiosity.

Stripestar

His expression was unreadable.

Sunspot

He was surprised but not angry at his apprentice.

Hazelleaf:

”Unthinkable,” she whispered. “Absurd.”

Whirlstar:

He glanced nervously at the other leaders. He felt stuck between a rock and a hard place. Let Violetpaw change her name and make his authority seem weak? Or appear cruel by refusing her? Neither would help his clan.

Violetpaw:

The silence of the Gathering was getting to her nerves. “I can help you,” she offered. “I thought of a few names.” She looked towards her mentor in hopes that he approved of what she was doing.

Shadepaw

She looked at her sister, surprised but not mad

Hazelleaf:

She frowned. The young RiverClan cat wanted to change her name? Preposterous!

Whirlstar:

He was startled from his thoughts. “Why?” He was confused and a little bit angry at Violetpaw for making a scene.

Violetpaw:

”It doesn’t feel like…me,” she said tried to project her voice all the way to the Four Trees. “I would like another name.”

Shadepaw

She watched her sister with interest.

(Oh, you did? That is useful! I am going off of what I remember. I do have the guidebook, though.)

Whirlstar:

”Violetpaw, you will now be known as Violethaze. We welcome you as a full warrior of RiverClan.” Haze. His mind was on dark thoughts right now. The haze of the mist glistening over their flooded camp…

Violetpaw:

Somehow, that name just felt wrong to her. Haze sounded cool, but it didn’t describe her. She stood there mutely for a moment.

”C-can I choose my own name?” Was it even allowed?

Riptide:

She watched Violetpaw carefully. Rebellious? She liked this.

Sunspot

"Without a doubt" he mewed.

(me just now remembering that I typed out all the ceremonies on the character page XD)

Whirlstar:

”Violetpaw,” he called.

Violetpaw:

She looked up at her leader with a hopeful light shining in her eyes.

Whirlstar;

He looked down at the older apprentice. “In the past few days, you have proved to RiverClan that time and time again, you were a true warrior. We admire your willingness to help others as well as your quick thinking. Sunspot, would you say that Violetpaw is ready and deserving of a warrior name?”

(yeah I guess we should wait)

(I realized that CloverFlame plays Moonstream, the cat who Whirlstar would make deputy. I guess we would have to wait?

I do think you are right about your kit, however.)

Shadepaw

She twitched her tail nervously, as she knew she would probably be going to the Moonstone tomorrow night to receive her medicine cat name. She looked down, missing Crowleaf.

Sunspot

He looked proudly at his apprentice.

(if I remember right, one of the kits has already been found by SkyClan)

Hazelleaf:

She edged closer to the medicine cats’ area to get a better look at Shadepaw. While she didn’t want to interrupt the leaders, she could still examine the young cat.

Whirlstar:

At last, it was his turn to speak. He walked forward slightly in his branch. “RiverClan experienced a flood that ravaged our camp,” he meowed loudly. “If any clans would like to provide aid, we would be eternally grateful. Some of our kits were swept away by the flood. As all know, according to the Warrior Code, it is everyone’s duty to look after kits, even when they are from different clans. Please escort them to RiverClan territory if you find them.” He waited a beat.

”However, even in the wake of the destruction, clan life goes on. RiverClan has a new warrior, deputy, and medicine cat.“

Violetpaw:

She eagerly stepped forward. What would her warrior name be? Or Shadepaw‘s name, if she was getting one tonight?

Shadepaw

She was aware of the other Clans looking at her in the spot formerly occupied by Crowleaf.

Lightstar

She made the routine announcements: new apprentices made, kits born, and Twolegs being really annoying.

Whirlstar:

Leaf-bare. He had almost forgotten about it. During leaf-bare, his clan should have been warm and cozy in their camp. Now, they were living in a makeshift one.

He looked to Lightstar, hoping that he would be able to go last, or at least close to the end.

Violetpaw:

”Thank you,” she whispered, “I just need to find pride in myself, that’s all.” She quieted down to watch Lightstar.

Beechstar

"Fairly well, though leaf-bare is coming in fast" he replied.

Sunspot

He brushed his apprentice's shoulder with his tail. "I do too" he replied softly. "But I'm proud of you"

Lightstar

She said the words to officially begin the Gathering.

Whirlstar:

He attempted to make some kind small talk with his fellow leaders for a few moments. “Has prey been running well in SkyClan?” he asked Beechstar to deflect the oncoming question.

Violetpaw:

”I wish…I wish it could have been different.” She looked down at her paws as she contemplated her life as a ‘paw.

Riptide:

She was watching the leaders hungrily. Dreamkit was back at camp.

Stripestar

He didn't reply to Hazelleaf and climbed onto the branch just a bit higher than Whirlstar's.

Beechstar

He looked at Whirlstar, a question in his expression.

Sunspot

He sat beside Violetpaw.

Lightstar

She noticed that Clovertail was nowhere to be seen, and frowned.

Shadepaw

She watched as WindClan and ShadowClan arrived.

Whirlstar:

He forced his fur to remain flat as he stared back into the gazes of the other clan leaders. He wasn’t giving an inch. He then turned away and clambered up onto a branch of Four Trees.

Hazelleaf:

”The whole clan looks like they fell into the river,” she mumbled. “Maybe it’s all the rain; makes everyone miserable.”

Violetpaw:

She wished that she could sit by her sister tonight. Both of them would need the comfort.

Why was she getting her warrior’s name on such a sad occasion? It tasted bittersweet.

Beechstar

He led his Clan into Fourtrees.

Stripestar

He looked at RiverClan, wondering what happened.

Shadepaw

She looked around nervously as she sat down in the place formerly occupied by Crowleaf.

Whirlstar:

He wearily entered the Gathering clearing. He attempted to keep his head held high, but it was clear to see that he was worn down. The entire clan was. He reminded himself what he was here for. He needed to get help for his clan.

Hazelleaf:

She was the deputy of ThunderClan. She walked next to her leader, Stripestar. She glanced at RiverClan curiously. What had happened to them?

Violetpaw:

She had entered the clearing with her tail held high and a grin. She had passed her warrior assessment! However, that grin immediately faded when she saw the other clans. Compared to them, her glorious clan must look like they were trampled in the mud.

(so as long as we don't do TOO much tonight, she should be able to jump in tomorrow :)

Whirlstar:

He nodded. “That is perfectly okay, Shadepaw. At tonight’s Gathering, I will seek help from another clan. Maybe they will listen.” But he was wary. Other clan’s help usually came with some kind of price or drawback, and he didn’t want to invite his territory to be conquered.

Branchtail glanced at Moonstream.

"We should keep going."

Moonstream swallowed hard.

Shadepaw

"I...I don't know...." ;-;

Whirlstar:

”I would tell you to take as much time as you need, but we simply don’t have the luxury,” he went on as he drew his tail back from Shadepaw. “Crowleaf seemed to think that you are ready; I feel the same. Do you feel that way?“

Violetpaw:

She found a small clump of bramble drifting lazily in a puddle. It had once been used to mark the entrance of the camp. It could be useful in ways, but she wasn’t sure if it was useful enough to count.

Sunfire smiled exited

She nuzzled her mentor's pelt sadly.

Riptide:

She brought Dreamkit back into the temporary camp and set her down. She wasn’t very surprised as she saw Crowleaf’s body lying still. “She was old anyway,” she muttered. “StarClan was going to come for her sooner or later.”

Dreamkit:

She carefully padded away from her mother, trying to figure out what she had witnessed at the bridge. What had that metal thing been?

Crowfeather left him

(I have not come up with anything regarding Riptide's mate besides the fact that he is dead. It is likely that she was responsible for the murder. If anyone wants to have a character be related to him, feel free.)

Whirlstar:

He made his way over to Shadepaw and rested the tip of his tail on the apprentice's shoulder. "She was a good medicine cat," he said softly. "She served me faithfully for many years."

Violetpaw:

She found a few shells that had been lining someone's nest, but she was hardly call those useful.

SalmonFur was mourning the loss of his beloved mate, his other daughter ShallowKit beside him.

Crowleaf nodded

Fogpelt

She walked over to Crowleaf's body, her tail drooping sadly.

(btw who was (cause you said he was x_x) Riptide's mate?)

He wasn't sure if this was the best way to see if his apprentice was perceptive and perseverant as well as skilled, but was proud of how she was handling this.

Shadepaw

She nuzzled Crowleaf's fur.

(I would prefer Whirlstar to be awake.)

Whirlstar:

He could feel the presence of his former medicine cat by his side. It was a glimmer of a feeling, but he could feel it and felt sure of it. "StarClan gave me a prophecy recently," he whispered. "Shadepaw will have to help me in interpreting it."

(How is Crowleaf visiting Whirlstar? Should I say that he fainted and is dreaming? Or is she communicating through subtle signs?)

Violetpaw:

She found a long stick that she used to scrape through the mud. She was hopeful that her scratching would reveal something valuable. She needed to find something in order to become a warrior. Internally, she was questioning the system. Was this really the most logical way to test her? Well...a warrior did need to know how to be perceptive of the world around them...but what if there was nothing salvageable here at all?

Thunderkit

BeeKit smiled softly. “Thanks.” She whispered.

Thunderkit licked her

BeeKit laid down beside him.

She sighed. "I guess I can stay around here for a little while..." she mewed quietly.

DarkRay led his team back towards the base.

She gently touched the kit with her tail-tip.

Bumblekit ran up to Shadepaw
