It was a dark and stormy night. Ravenblaze's mane was pressed against his cloud-white blaze as he glided through the soaked trees. "Dapplefeather! Dapplefeather!" His desperate brays echoed in the deadly, dark, forest. Dapplefeather, his mate, had been banished from Storm Herd, accused of murder. Ravenblaze knew clearly that Breezecloud wasn't murdered by Dapplefeather, but a mare named Swiftleaf. Swiftleaf loved Ravenblaze, but Ravenblaze only loved one mare; Dapplefeather. Swiftleaf had made it look like Dapplefeather who killed their lead mare in hope of being left alone with Ravenblaze. She thought that mabye then she could make Ravenblaze love her.
Ravenblaze had escaped from Storm Herd to find Dapplefeather. As he thought of her, guilt pierced thogh his heart. It had been his fault that his beloved was gone. Tears rolled down his night-black fur. What if Dapplefeather had died? What if she was taken by the evil Poison Herd? His heart thumped with anxiety. He might even never see her again!
Suddenly, he heard a rustle in the bushes ahead. Trembling, the stallion landed on the damp mosy fort floor. He slunk slowly towards the suspicious noise. Ravenblaze was full of hope of finding Dapplefeather, but also full of fear of what else it could be.
Ravenblaze halted in front of the plant. Bracing himself ,he tentatively let out a shrill whinny. "Dapplefeather!" Unsease prickled at his fur as nothing responded. The handsome black stallion reached out with his wing and shook the bush. Then he pulled back and waited. A heartbeat later, a racoon burst out of the shrub and darted away between Ravenblaze's legs. Sheer dissapointment flashed through Ravenblaze. He turned and lumbered away into the forest.
Rain splahed down through the dark leav of the forest. Ravenblaze had been trudging for hours, and now he felt lost. He wondered what his hed was doing. He wondered where he was. Andmost importantly, he wondered where Dapplefeather was. As he sloshed around in the unstopping rain, blinded in his dreary thoughts, a splashing noise sounded from benind. Ravenblaze spun around, ready to fight.
In the middle of the drenched and gloomy forest stood Swiftleaf.
Ooo, I like where this is going
