Well, Cass, Sun Herd is all the same herd, so their bodies are probably similar, but not their coats. That being said, there are raids so often that the herds probably have a mix of body types

I see them like Flamefrost but Sun Herd I picture as wild mustangs

I imagine them like that too! Except Sun Herd probably consists of many breeds because it is made up of all different pegasi. For example, Echofrost is like an Arabian, Bumblewind like a Paint horse, Star as a Thoroughbred, and Morningleaf a Arabian/Quarter mix. (Thats how I see them)

I picture star as a Throughbred. They are extremly tall (could be wrong, usually am :L).. almost as tall as a shire o.o

I remember that Star is taller than 3 of the over-stallions, and I looked in the book and it didn't say anything about whether the horses were taller that them, but it did say they were long-legged

I think it works like this. I know the pegasi aren't different breeds, but I picture them as follows:

Sun Herd: Thoroughbred

Snow Herd: Clydesdale

Mountain Herd: Quarter Horse, but shaggy

Jungle herd: Haflinger but not as chubby

Desert Herd: Arabian

Star in the series is 19 something hands. I think horses are smaller

for some reason I think it's the other way around, but I'll check

I think it is that horses and pegasi mature faster, but live longer as an adult. Cass, 5'7" is 16.3 hands, and Nightflare, the tallest horse ever was 19.1 hands, which is super rare. So I don't think a 20-hand or 24-hand steed would actually happen.
