Callum:
His heart skipped a beat as he remembered descending from the cliff, hitting slick stone, hearing Fawnroot's terrified cries and feeling pain for her and in himself.
He closed his eyes for a moment, inhaling slowly. "What could I do? You were forcibly taking her away, against her will." He opened his eyes and the moment he did they flashed with fury and pain. "If you hadn't come, things wouldn't be this way. Your over-protectiveness of the mare is hurting her. You don't care what she thinks, so you do everything in your wretched power to tear her away from her desires! She's not JUST a medicine mare! She's not a tool! No one is. Fawnroot's a living, thinking, intelligent pegasus that has thoughts and feelings of her own. But you're too SELFISH to even care! For once, stop thinking of yourself, Hawkflight! Stop being a fool. You know you can't convert her, so why try?"
Callum rubbed his face. "And if you try to hurt me, you will probably prevail. And also prevail in hurting her as well. Why don't you let it go? It's may injure your ego a little bit. But that's not important. Let go of your pride! It does you no good. How about you start looking around you and see where your deceitful and selfish heart has led you. Look, Hawkflight, I would never try to hurt her. Ever." (BOOM BABEE)
Summary:
Okay so Hawkflight and Callum are just roasting each other right now. Merrick and Kelly and Aaron (Merrick's father) Raven and Zayne are hanging in the library. Rayla is being told to rest by Ulrani.
Heisly:
She giggled. "I know right? Do you think this might have an owl or two?" She asked excitedly.
Teirron:
"Uhhh... well, she can't... because... she's too hurt," he replied. "You need to come to her." Teirron hoped that the old mare would believe him and follow him back to the pegasus mare he still didn't know the name of. (SOBZ NIGHTMISTTT)
(Making a new part! Post your recomments in there. Windfeather, you're the last one to comment so I'll have it up there)
Grayson:
'I still feel responsible for ehr death."
Merrick:
He smiled affectionately at her and waited for her to turn back to him, allowing her to take as much time as she wanted to take in the vast, beautiful view. "It's not the only thing that's pretty." He thought as his ears grew hot.
Kelly's golden hair fluttered behind her and her eyes glimmered in the sunlight. Merrick's blush reddened even further and he focused on pulling out the rest of the food.
Once Kelly looked away, he patted the empty spot on the blanket next to him for Kelly to lay.
(AAHH)
Grayson:
"No, I didnt kill her. But because of me she was killed."
Grayson:
"It was my fualt when I didn't watch ehr back well enough, she was trusting me! I failed."
Grayson:
"It WAS my fault."
Grayson:
"She was one of the only people who put up with my dedication to constant training, she encouraged me to become a better warrior and we would train together for hours. But when I really mattered I wasn't good enough to svae her."
Grayson:
He shrugged
Grayson:
"Me either." he wiped away tears
Fig: “That’s not a battle I’ll ever forget.” he said, unusually softly. Because that was the battle that had taken his son away. He set his jaw and closed his eyes a moment.
(Awwww!!!! Grayson!!!)
Grayson:
"Yeah, she was a warrior, one of the best I've ever seen."
Grayson:
"The girl I was in love with died in a battle a year ago. I was suposed to be watching her back but I was distracted by my own fight."
Rayla:
"THank you, Ben."
Ben:
Nodding, he moved to grab a leather backpack that was up against a far wall. "Here. You can put whatever work you need in here. It'll be easier to carry." He offered and helped her to pile the papers neatly into the leather knapsack.
Rayla:
"I should return it to the council build since it's finished, yes."
Ben:
He nodded. "My pleasure." He nodded to the stack of papers next to her hooves. "Do you need that paperwork?"
Grayson:
He shook hsi head, "No sir, I'm not in love with any girls and certainly there are no girls in love with me." his eyes were slightly sad
Valentina:
She hid her frown the best she could, pressing her lips together. ”Well... alright. Okay. Thank you, Fig! But I-“ She stared down at the coins in her hands, before nodding.
Grayson:
"They don't seem to like me, maybe because I'm busy training all the time," he shrugged. "Whatever."
@Stormsun Last thing said to Val~ Fig: Suddenly, he remembered the council meeting he needed to attend. “Espen, Val, I just remembered an important function I need to go to. I’m sorry.“ he said guiltily. Guardian fail. He handed them each a couple coins. “Buy something nice for yourself, yeah?” @Windfeather
Fig: “I hope you make some in our future campaigns. Life will be real difficult without ‘em. Sometimes- sometimes they’re all you have.” Again, he thought of his son, wondering who he spent his time with these days.
Rayla:
"Thanks," she said
Kelly:
She grinned widely and helped, before pausing at Merrick's question. "Well, it's... amazing. Really pretty," Kelly smiled and rested her hind hoof after a moment, inhaling the fresh air.
She popped an almond in her mouth without even looking. Her eyes drifted across the clearing.
Ben:
Still holding her hand, her gently helped her to stand, then offered his arm for her to balance on. "Lean on me, if you need to."
Merrick:
He smiled at Kelly then, as his father took in the view, he began setting up. He found the flattest part of the hill and strewn the blanket Aaron had packed over it. He pulled out the different foods and laid them in the middle of the blanket. The fruits, the sandwiches Kelly made, the nuts and chocolates. And of course, the bag of popcorn, which Merrick eyed hungrily as he laid everything out.
As he worked, he looked up at Kelly and smiled again. “Well...what do you think?“ He asked, nodding at the marvelous view.
(ACKKKKK im sowyyyy :((((
Could I have recomments?)
Grayson:
"No and no. But that's why I don't have any close friends."
Grayson:
"I saw more adults fighting then people my age. I saw most of the others my age hiding during the fightiing, not helping win the fight."
Grayson:
"I don't want to waste time goofing off when I could be doing something that matters, like learning to be a better warrior. If the others my age would focus on becoming the best warriors they can be we'd be able to better deal with wolf attacks."
Grayson:
"I don't know, I just don't really get along with the other kids my age. They're not focused on important things, they prefer to spend time goofing off and pranking people instead of training to be better warriors."
Grayson:
He shrugged, "Not really."
Grayson:
He snapped back to reality, "Uh it was ok. I finished checking ont he herd and then thought about my dad's message."
Grayson:
He nodded
Grayson:
"I think it's a good idea. There are lots of orphans who need homes." he was only semi paying attention, he was lost in thought
Grayson:
"I know they are, sir."
Grayson:
He nodded. "Understood sir."
Rayla
she stood, wincing slightly.
Fawnroot: “Perfect! That‘s what I always love to hear.” She said and briefly touched noses with Whitestar before lifting her head up.
She returned Callum’s smile with her own. She rested her hind hoof, and ever so slightly leaned against him. “Do you need a lunch break?” She asked with a concerned glance.
Rayla
”We’re mostly talking about how to protect the herd from wolves I think.”
Ben:
He glanced at her before gathering his legs underneath him to stand. "I know you'll be fine, but it'll make me feel better knowing I was there with you." As he stood, he stretched his stiff legs. "So, what will you be discussing? Or...is that classified and you're not allowed to tell me?" He flicked a curious ear towards her.
Fig: He nodded. “Good man- come with me then.” He led Grayson to the government building and into the conference room. “I invited Councillors Rayla, Bjorn, and Yorrick. They should be here soon.”
Grayson
”Yes sir!”
Grayson:
He was sitting outside his tent, thinking about the message his father had left.
Fig: Suddenly, he remembered the council meeting he needed to attend. “Espen, Val, I just remembered an important function I need to go to. I’m sorry.“ he said guiltily. Guardian fail. He handed them each a couple coins. “Buy something nice for yourself, yeah?”
Then he sought out Grayson to take to the government building.
Rayla:
"I'll be fine, I promise. I'll mostly be listening to people talk and perhaps be debating with Fig in a very raised voice (We call it yelling)," she smiled.
Ben:
He cocked a suspicious eyebrow. “You sure? You still need to take it easy, especially since you have stitches.” He said, then stretched and yawned. “I‘ll escort you to the meeting. It’s the least I can do.”
Rayla:
"You can come to the meeting if you want to and I think I'll be fine. I've just gotta go to this meeting then I'm taking the rest of the day off so I can rest."
Fawnroot:
“Perfect! That‘s what I always love to hear.” She said and briefly touched noses with Whitestar before lifting her head up. She returned Callum’s smile with her own. She rested her hind hoof, and ever so slightly leaned against him. “Do you need a lunch break?” She asked with a concerned glance.
Sultaan:
He nodded, moving a piece forward. Once he managed to get out 85% of the opposing checkers, he leaned back and glanced at Reba.
(where'd everyone go?)
Callum:
He smiled gently. "He's doing well. Perky as a newly bloomed flower," he replied, gazing at the colt and then shifting his eyes to Fawnroot.
(Peace, could I have Reba's comment? I couldn't find it)
Fawnroot:
She nodded and sighed. “Yes, me too.” Fawnroot shofted so she stood closer to Callum, her wingtips brushing against his sides. “How’s our little Whitestar?” She asked Callum gently, then lowered her head to the colt. She exhaled a puff of warm breath into his face-ruffling his fuzzy forelock- to let him know she was there.
Anybody here?)
Callum:
"That's good. Hopefully he'll heal soon," he said softly.
Rayla:
"You can come if you want to and I think I'll be fine."
Ben:
He straightened and stared at her. “Let me come-I could help you.” He offered gently with a kind smile. His brows then creased with concern. “Are you sure you feel up for it? The meeting, I mean?”
Rayla:
She realized it was getting closer to the time for the council meeting. She sighed softly. She just wanted to take the rest of the day off but she couldn;t. "I've gotta go to the council meeting soon."
Fawnroot:
She lifted her eyes to Callum as he spoke and hoped he didn’t overhear what that ignorant mare had said. Her eyes rounded as she felt an air of sadness surround him, even though he swallowed it down. Fawnroot stepped closer to him. “He’s alright. It wasn’t a bad break, but because I haven’t been here to treat it, it’s gotten worse. As long as he eats what I prescribed and doesn‘t fly for a couple weeks, he should fully recover.” She said gently then swiveled her ears towards him.
( igtg)
Callum:
He swiveled his ears, picking up Fawnroot's conversation with the anonymous mare. But what the mare was saying pricked his heart, causing him to swallow the hurt down painfully.
The moment Fawnroot returned, he looked up at her as if nothing had happened. "How's the stallion? With the broken wing I mean," he asked.
(I think Pease is just waiting for you to reply with Espen. Fig asked Val if she and Espen wanted to go to the market.
Fig: “Well.” he said, rubbing of his hands. “I believe we have a just enough time for a nice stroll before it gets dark. Would you like to go to the market?” He harbored ideas about taking Val to confront Jerry about her treatment...
Valentina:
She grinned, "Sure! Why not?"
Fig:
“Great! Let’s go then.” he said happily, corralling the children towards the market.
(Uhhh Ben had a nightmare and woke up once Rayla grabbed his hand and woke him up. Rayla's now just laying next to him and they're just talking about hi nightmare and his past)
(You were going to comment something with Callum I think? To this comment? I left it open so anyone can reply to it)
Fawnroot:
She finished up with the injured stallion-put his wingtip in a brace, gave him a heavy dose of pain medicine, and told him to only walk for about a moon until the break healed. Once she completed her instructions, she turned to go back to the cave, but the mare stopped her. “Why are you going back there?”
Fawnroot glanced behind her and huffed. “Because its the medicine mare den, and I’m the medicine mare. It’s where my work is.” She said simply, hoping her answer satisfied the mare into leaving her alone. But, in fact, it made the other mare irritated.
“That’s not what I mean. Why are you going back to the centaur? His presence will bring nothing but misfortune to us all.” The mare spat as if the sentence made her disgusted. Fawnroot pinned her ears and whirled to face her, her eyes blazing bright with protective anger.
“That’s quite enough. Be careful what you say about Callum. I invited him here and he is just as welcome as everybody else.“
Fawnroot didn‘t allow the mare to respond. She spun back around and swiftly stormed back into the den.
(and Rebaaa!)
Reba: “Good effort!” she winked. “Ok, here’s your last challenge...“ Reba smirked as she marked several additional squares off the side of the board. “Play the game with these extra squares.”
(could I get some recomments? I wasn't here at ALL yesterday bcus we went out for the WHOLE afternoon until like... 11 pm)
Rayla:
She nodded, about to say something but she changed her mind
Ben:
He nodded. "Irich. That's the language. Irichad is the territory where I grew up-the other members of the tribe named it that." He said softly. "I had to learn Centak when we first left Irichad and joined this herd."
Rayla:
"I don't know what language you were speaking in all I know is it wasn't Centak." She smiled.
Ben:
He glanced at Rayla and squeezed her hand, smiling gently. "No, don't be. It's like you said-I can't control what I dream about and neither can you." He said, then smoothed out his jacket. "So, if you couldn't understand me, I was probably just calling out to my parents." He paused, then smiled.
"I do remember that I was looking for you. You did help to wake me up and bring me back to reality, so thank you."
Rayla:
She listened, feeling bad for Ben. "I'm sorry."
Ben:
He winced slightly and leaned back, but still held onto her hand. "No, it's alright. I'll tell you." He swallowed to gather her thoughts. "It was about my family back when we were living up north and we weren't even apart of this herd yet. That's where my accent is from-we spoke a different language. It was a memory from my childhood that was ruined by fire."
He explained before taking a breath to continue. He told Rayla about his parents and about the original memory that had been tainted and turned into a nightmare. He told her about the fire and flames that took in his parents and the rest of his small tribe that he grew up with.
Rayla:
"I'm not tired and I already slept. I'm fine. Do you want to talk about your nightmare? if you do, I'll listen and if you don't that's ok too."
Ben:
"Are you sure? You don't have to. I promise, I'm alright." He said gently, not taking his eyes away from her. A flash of guilt coursed through him-Rayla's injured and instead of resting, she's here comforting him.
Ben flicked his tail and combed a hand through his messy hair, then offered her a kind smile.. "Don't stay up for me...It was just a dream."
Rayla:
"I'm good, I'll stay here."
Ben:
He sighed and rubbed his eyes with his other hand. "I'm okay...thank you." He gently squeezed her hand as he raised his eyes to look at her. "Go back to bed. I'm alright." He reassured gently with a forced smile, but secretly, he wanted Rayla to stay next to him. He didn't want to be alone.
Rayla:
"Shh, it's alright. You can't control whether or not you have nightmares. I know how it feels."
Ben:
His breathing slowed when he felt a soft, warm hand intertwine with his own. His nightmare diminished and he relaxed again. Ben swallowed a whimper as his eyes slowly cracked open. Ben wiped his eyes with his other hand and sat up. He spotted Rayla kneeling down next to him, but he didn't say anything as he caught his breath and allowed his heart to slow.
"I'm s-sorry. I didn't mean to wake you." He said finally as he looked down at his hooves, embarrassed that Rayla had to see him like that.
(aaawwwww!!! RAYLLAAAAA SO SWEEETTTTT)
Rayla:
"I'm here, Ben. I can't understand what you're saying, but I'm here," she reached out her hand and gently held his
Ben:
He heard the distant voice of someone familiar. Someone he cared about. But her voice was drowned out by the sounds of the flickering fire. Ben twisted and kicked out his hind legs as if something was attacking him. He inhaled deeply for breath. "Nach bhfeiceann tú an tine? Rayla, cá bhfuil tú?" (Do you not see the fire? Rayla, where are you?) He said again only louder and more desperate. Tears sprang into his closed eyes, but he wouldn't allow them to fall. "Rayla!"
Rayla:
She jerked awake, hearing Ben. "Ben? What's wrong?" she mumbled sleepily, she couldn't seem to understand what he'd said except for her name.
(Hey Windfeather! I feel like something needs to happen with Ben and Rayla XDD I feel bad for just making them sit there. So, read this and tell me what you think! If you want me to edit anything just tell me)
Ben:
As he fell asleep, he heard Rayla's voice telling him goodnight before his eyes closed and he relaxed against the wall of the Tavern.
He felt cold. Was it snowing? He was standing outside his family's stone house in his old herd's territory, which was farther north than the rest of the centaur herds. Voices came from the house behind him-his parents.
They weren't speaking Centak. They were speaking in their native tongue. His family had emigrated from the cold northern territory to find a warmer place to raise their two sons. But before this, they lived with a small tribe of other centaurs. It wasn't exactly a herd-more of just a group of travelers and outsiders that had grouped together to survive in the harsh climate.
Ben was a teenager as the memory played in his mind. His younger brother, who was about 10, was playing in the snow. Aaron looked up at his brother and squealed, "Sneachta! Tar imirt deartháir." (Snow! Come play brother) Ben smiled and wandered over to his younger brother, then helped him create a snowman. His parents suddenly exited the house...but something was wrong. Back when this memory was a reality of his childhood, his mom and dad looked happy. But, this time, their faces were dark with horror and panic. His father screamed at them as the white snow turned to ash. "Rith Benjamin. Rith!" (Run Benjamin. Run!) Blood red fire enveloped their house, taking his parents along with it. Ben cried out. He whirled to grab Aaron's hand, but his brother had disappeared. "No, no. This can't be real. This never happened...It's not what I remember...It was snowing, not raining fire." Ben thought to himself. He ran out of the fire and cried out again when he saw that their entire camp was burning.
Outside of his nightmare, Ben's coat was slick with sweat and he twisted in agony. He released a groan as he clenched his eyes shut tighter. "Rayla, cad atá ag tarlú? ...Dóiteáin!" He said aloud in his foreign language. (Rayla, what's happening? ...Fire!)
(So basically if this doesn't make sense, the first part of his area is a memory from his childhood with aaron and with his parents. But, then it turned into a nightmare as he watched his entire campsite, tribe, and family burn down (which didn't actually happen-he's just dreaming it)
Fig: “Great! Let’s go then.” he said happily, corralling the children towards the market.
Kelly:
She smiled softly and trudged after them, blowing back her hair, which kept brushing over her face.
She exhaled and stared up at the sky, wide eyed.
Merrick:
He smiled absentmindedly to Kelly’s awestruck reaction. “Wonderful, isn’t it?“ He whispered as he stood up once she was on her own hooves again. He briefly left Kelly to check on his father, who was resting a couple meters away from the top.
Aaron glared playfully up at Merrick. ”Don’t worry...about me-I’m fine. Totally fine. Just carrying your food...and working my flanks off climbing up this hill on my own.” Aaron spoke sarcastically through his labored breathing and slightly pained look. Merrick winced, but smiled at his father’s carefree banter, and moved back down the hill to help him. Merrick picked up the basket, slung it over one arm, then offered his other arm for his father to lean on. “Sorry Dad.” He mumbled as Aaron grabbed onto Merrick’s shoulder, and with his son’s help he scaled the rest of the hill. “The view’s worth it though.” Merrick said gently when they’d reached the top. “Nothing has changed.”
Valentina:
She grinned, "Sure! Why not?"
Kelly:
Her eyes widened. "Whoa," she whispered in shock, looking around. Her blue eyes were round with wonder, and she slowly slid off of Merrick's back. "This is..." She stared at the lush grass, and up the trunks of the tall, leafy trees. Each leaf looked perfect, and the rays of sun that shone down on them caused everything to glimmer.
She arched an eyebrow and rested her hind hoof, taking in the sight.
Merrick:
His blush reddened and he felt his ears burn from her tender kiss. “Heheh, sorry.” He mumbled gently then slowed and relaxed again to a normal speed. Merrick arched his neck around as far as he could and was able to get close enough to kiss her forehead.
He climbed up the remaining arch of the hill and exhaled deeply when he scaled it. The breathtaking view stole his breath away. The view which he had long forgotten. Rolling hills and meadows, streams and ponds, magnificent trees, the blue sky with puffy clouds-it was beautiful. The picnic memories with his sire flooded back to him. Not taking his eyes off the landscape, he slowly lowered to his knees to allow Kelly to climb off his back.
Rowan:
She looked at the bowl in front of her and took a bite. She raised her eyebrows in surprise. "This is the best thing I've eaten in several months," she chuckled.
Rowan:
Her hands played with the dragon charm around her neck, as they always did when she felt a certain way.
Rowan:
She tilted her head at him. She opened her mouth to say something, but closed it again. Rowan nodded slowly.
Kilroy: “Keep it.” he said, gently wrapping her fingers around the coins. “It’s not much. For you new home, right?”
Fig: “Well.” he said, rubbing of his hands. “I believe we have a just enough time for a nice stroll before it gets dark. Would you like to go to the market?” He harbored ideas about taking Val to confront Jerry about her treatment...
Rowan: She studied the coins in her hand, and shook her head. "I don't need them," she said, handing them back to him
Valentina:
She shrugged. "Eh, maybe. Hopefully."
Kelly:
She snorted and burst into laughter. "Stop that!" She blushed and stretched forward, kissing his cheek, before sagging slightly. She smiled softly and craned her head upwards, seeing that they appeared to be getting close.
She looked back at Merrick and tilted her head with a smirk.
Merrick:
He laughed and squeezed her fingers as she playfully pushed his head forward. “Alright! Alright, I’m walking. See? This is me, walking.” He said happily and purposefully picked up his knees and started marching more vigorously. This made his haunches and shoulders swing side to side more and he felt her gently away to the movement of his back.
Merrick glanced out the corner of his eye at her pretty face that rested against his shoulder. Now it was his turn to blush. He cocked his head and smiled affectionately.
(I'm back!)
Rowan: She shrugged in reply.
@Ashsong @Stormsun (Hi! So you guys haven’t commented on Fig, Espen, and Val in a while... are you still interested in continuing the scene?)
Kelly:
She tilted her head and blushed. "Eh, I guess you're right. Stop making me blush and keep walking," she snorted and turned his head away. She shifted and rested her chin on his shoulder, grinning from ear to ear.
A fly buzzed around her back leg and Kelly swatted her tail at it without looking back, smirking.
@Stormsun recomment!! Are ya here? Haven’t rped in a while)
Merrick:
He felt her stiffen up, then exhale. Worried something had happened, he looked over his shoulder again and saw her looking back the way they’d come. Merrick smiled, his brows creasing as he understood.
“Hey,” Using his free hand, he reached up and squeezed his fingers around her clasped hands. “Don’t worry about it. You’re injured and shouldn’t even be walking, much less climbing. Besides, it’s my pleasure.”
Fawnroot:
She finished up with the injured stallion-put his wingtip in a brace, gave him a heavy dose of pain medicine, and told him to only walk for about a moon until the break healed. Once she completed her instructions, she turned to go back to the cave, but the mare stopped her. “Why are you going back there?” Fawnroot glanced behind her and huffed.
I invited him here and he is just as welcome as everybody else.“ Fawnroot didn‘t allow the mare to respond. She spun back around and swiftly stormed back into the den.
Zayne:
"Yeah," he agreed, biting into his.
Sultaan:
He wasn't able to get all the opposing checkers. Sitting back, he took another carrot and munched on it thoughtfully as he gazed that the board.
Reba: As she watched Sultaan play, she plotted for one more challenge for him to solve before she sent him off to bed.
Kilroy: He ordered two bowls from a fast and cheap place he knew. As they waited, he said “We turned a profit of three coins. Not too shabby.”
