that some of you have a lot of problems. I've been here for a while now and I've seen dozens of posts about such subjects.
So I wanted to… address? No that doesn't sound too… helpful, I want to say some things about what a lot I see in the most friendliest and non-patronizing way possible! XD
I'm not saying ANYTHING negative to ANYONE whosoever. I'm making this post to help you! To build you up! Like… as a friend.
Prepare for a somewhat long post here!
I've never rly experienced depression because I have God for comfort and my family, friends, and you guys too!
Anyway, after reading this, plz don't view me as a more-holier-than-thou kind of member. I'm still the same nutty, Ninjago, horse (etc) lover Ashsong that you all know… well, most of you anyway.
I have a question to ask all of you when you come up with unhappiness of any kind, big or small.
Are you thankful?
Imagine that all that you know and love were to be killed or the things you LOVE were to be destroyed. Or just suddenly died. Imagine that one day you hear on the news or from the officials that your dad and/or mom and/or sibling/s died in a car accident.
Don't get me wrong, I think about that a lot!
I'm sure a lot of you have seen Big Hero Six right?
If not then… SPOILERS ALERT!!!!!!!
Remember that part when Hiro's older brother, Tadashi, dies in the explosion in the building? I hate to admit it, but I really did cry a little. It wasn't because of how much I cared for the character Tadashi, but because I have older siblings too!
It made me more thankful for my siblings and other things I usually don't think about like…
What if my heart were to stop beating?? Or my lungs were to suddenly stop working???
To wrap this up, just as yourself:
Am I thankful?
Maybe try listing some things that are a blessing! Sounds boring right?
Well, once you RLY get into it, you can hardly come to the end of ALL the little things we pretty much NEVER think about!
Sorry this was SO long, a lot to read. Hopefully you didn't find this… patronizing or anything. XD
One more thing that I'M thankful for!!
TGH! WHICH MEMBER ON HERE ISN'T THANKFUL FOR THAT???? XD
You probably have no clue who I am, but what Nightmist said is true. Im sure at least one post youve seen is mine, and Ill be honest I had really bad depression and anxiety. It wasnt that I wasnt grateful, I just had a lot going on inside and around me. Im a Christian, Im very open with this info, just ask the older members lol, but its still hard. Im much better, have been for over 9months, very happy abt it.
Great speech and memo!
But, some people are born with depression and anxiety, and can’t so easily fight it off, so we can’t assume they wouldn’t be grateful for things if they didn’t have that feeling of sinking further and further into the Swamps of Sadness. ;(
I’m grateful for reality, and the fact that we can have seperate, non-existent realities within reality :) (AKA stories, books, etc.)
Awwwww!! Ashsong!!! This was a super nice and sentimental post and you're right! There's so much to be thankful for and even more things that we take for granted-like the clothes on our backs, the roof over our heads, friends, family, good education, AC(which is HUGE where i live XDD) and I often take the little things for granted. I"M THANKFUL!!! I'm thankful for this world, this life, this MB, and everything else in the world to adore.
