Okay, so in response to a discussion that I was involved with yesterday regarding Lightfeather's relationship with Silvercloud/lake. I'd first like to say that I am not throwing anyone under the bus, I am merely wanting to continue the conversation about Lightfeather on a post created specifically about this issue because I think there can be some very interesting points made about this topic, as well as allowing us to look at the books from different prospective.

My 'mane' stance on this issue, is that Lightfeather's relationship with Silvercloud/lake was a mother-daughter relationship. The first thing that I would like to argue in defense of this, is the age gap between the two mares. Lightfeather arrived in Sun Herd only a few days old, and was immediately taken in by Silvercloud/lake and Thunderwing/sky. It's a fact that Lightfeather was far from being a weanling when this happened and in order for it to make any sense for Silvercloud/lake to adopt her in the first place would mean that she would have had to have been nursing a foal of her own (aka Hazelwind) at this time. This would have to mean that there is, at an absolute bare minimum, a 3 year age gap between them. However, I believe that this is likely that is a much larger age gap between them.
