Summary:
The Elementals have been meeting each other, but none have learned about their powers yet. Flurryheart and Moonstorm met Rapidrage while going exploring, and decided to explore Night Herd territory. Darkbreeze, Riversun’s daughter, was sent on the mission every Night Herd weanling is set on, to capture a pegasus from another herd to prove their worth. Reluctantly, Darkbreeze set off on the mission, but was found by Flurryheart, Moonstorm, and Rapidrage before she could get far. With her identity revealed, Darkbreeze is in big trouble. Riversun is getting worried that her daughter hasn’t returned yet. Meanwhile Windstorm is walking towards Night Herd. Earlier in the day, he had been bullied and bet up by Flurryheart’s older brother, Goldenlight. Elsewhere, Dusk, the black foal, watches the pegasi of Freedom Herd go about their day. Shadowheart and Solarmoon, both in Freedom Herd, are talking. Sparkflame and Creekwood are talking about their few memories before they got captured by Night Herd.

She sighed, conflicted. “Do you think we should take her to Skunkwing, let her go, or maybe hide her somewhere ourselves?” A horrible thought suddenly occurred to her. “Do you have the starfire?”
Darkbreeze:
"I-I don't think so," She said.

Dusk:
He got up from the tree. There really felt like nothing to do, none of the foals were really his "friend" if you could even call it that. But that was just the curse that comes with being "different". Dusk stretched his legs. Although, his stomach seemed to twist as it was riddled with the feeling that something bad was going down. It was impossible to tell what though. It most likely wouldn't be his business. Though, he still couldn't shake the feeling
Windstorm:
He trotted toward Night herd

He shook his mane slightly.
Solarmoon:
She flicked her tail at some flies
Night Herd:

”We can’t get to far ahead of ourselves. One hoof in front of the other. First, we have to see what Riversun will do if Darkbreeze doesn’t come back.”
Creekwood:
He nodded, knowing it would be best to do that. Still, his mind was already racing with ideas on how to escape and stay away from Night Herd, and how he would get his revenge.

(Since this is getting long, I’m going to make a new part quickly, though I won’t be able to do an in-depth summary.)
Lilyvine:
"Are you ok?" She asked him. "You just bolted out without an explanation."
Darkbreeze:
She glanced at the ground and lightly pawed it with her hoof, feeling more uncomfortable and out of place than ever.
Flurryheart:
”We have to decide our next moves.” She nickered to the group. “Skunkwing and his warriors could be anywhere.”
Skunkwind:
He nodded at his crying mate, and slowly turned.
Hopefrost:
"Let's go."
Rapidrage:
"I... I don't really care. I mean, I'm fine. Sort of." He shrugged trying to be casual, but really he was scared. He turned and saw Lilyvine, and sighed with relief of the change of subject.
"Hey!" he said, and waved his wing.
Flurryheart:
”What are we going to do about your long recovery time?”

Hopefrost:
She sobbed into her mate's mane
Wintercrash:
"I am NOT your son!" he roared
Skunkwind:
"Apparently not any more." He saddened and looked at his son. He hoped to embrace him one last time before leaving, but he knew that would never happen. He looked at Hopefrost, wondering how he had ever ended up with such a wonderful mare like her.
Lilyvine:
She saw Rapidrage and Flurryheart in the distance. "Hey," SHe called to them, wishing she could fly so she would be faster. She trotted up to them.
Windstorm:
He shook with fear, what was happening?!
Autumnmoon:
"It's ok," She nickered. SHe hugged WIndstorm. Her mind was racing with worry over Lilyvine.
Hopefrost:
"I can't just leave him! He's our son."
Skunkwind:
He flattened his ears. "Come, Hopefrost."
Rapidrage:
He put his wing on his chest, his other wing sagging. He flared his nostrils, and lowered his head sadly.
Windstorm:
"Scared."
Wintercrash: He rattled his feathers at his parents
Autumnmoon:
She walked over to WIndstorm. "YEs?" SHe nickered, nuzzling him.
Windstorm:
He whimpered. "Mama."
Lilyvine:
"We should go look for them," SHe told Darkbreeze, heading out of the cave.
Darkbreeze:
She glanced around nervously before following Lilyvine.
Flurryheart:
Another part of the prophecy made her feel uneasy. Supposedly, she had a heart of ice. How could she even love anyone, not to mention a fire elemental?
Sunwing:
He looked on.
Hopefrost:
"Don't do this, Wintercrash!" she pleaded.
Wintercrash:
"I SAID LEAVE! If you do not leave I will kill both of you," he growled
Skunkwind:
"Son, please! We are your parents," he said softly.
Rapidrage:
His ears drooped and his wing slipped off her shoulder. He folded his wings, mad at himself. Why did she have to be the Ice Element? And why did he have to be the Fire Element!?
Flurryheart:
”Sure.” She muttered. Fire and ice could not stick together. She shook the thought out of her mind.
Wintercrash:
"Leave, NOW." he snarled at his parents.
Scatteredcloud:
She hissed.
Rapidrage:
He closed his eyes. Defeat the determined. How? Why? His eyes flew open and he looked at Flurryheart. "Hey, it's going to be alright. We just need to stick together." His ears got hot and he flattened them. He fanned his wings slightly, before reaching out and laying his wing on her shoulder.
Skunkwind:
He flared his nostrils.

He turned to his daughter, a small smile on his lips.

She bounded over to her father, her eyes wide.

He nodded crisply. "Yes, sir."
Sunwing:
”Scatteredcloud.“ he nickered, beckoning his mate, then turned to Wintercrash.
”See Skunkwind and Hopefrost off our lands.”
Wintercrash:
"What are your commands, Sunwing, sir?"
Skunkwind:
His heart squeezed. He looked at his colt, but he was blurry. Skunkwind blinked and a tear rolled down his cheek.
Scatteredlight:
"I... I don't know."

Her eyes were wide as she leaned into her mother, "Mama...what happens now?" She asked slowly.
Hopefrost:
She sobbed, even their own colt had turned against them
Sunwing:
He stood proud and tall.
Flurryheart:
She closed her eyes, thinking. Trusting, leading, prices. That was what she had to face.
Skunkwind:
He looked at his colt. He pricked his ears and side stepped closer to Hopefrost, carefully putting his wing on her back.
Rapidrage:
"The leader of the elements will have the power of ice
she will learn that every action comes with a price.
All her life, she has been forced to hid in the shadows
She yearned to take flight
But now she has turned that darkness into light
Her ice cold heart doesn’t let strangers in
But she will find that she has to trust in order to win."
Wintercrash:
He glared at Skunwind.
Skunkwind:
Skunkwing, now Skunkwind, looked at his colt. Be glad you have a good name, Wintercrash. He backed away and looked at his mate.
Scatteredlight:
She looked at her mate and squeezed her eyes shut to hide her anger.
Rapidrage:
He pricked his ears and listened. That's me. Me and my dark heart, he though, his heart pounding. He looked at Flurryheart.
Moonstorm:
Her eyes were wide, "O...ok, Papa..." She squeaked, retreating back to her mother.
Wintercrash:
He saluted Sunwing. "Sunwing, sir."
Sunfire:
”Stay back!” He repeated. “This is for your own good. I won’t let you be treated like an enemy of the herd any longer.”
Flurryheart:
”The fire one will charge through the flames
Feel the anger but destroy hate
His neigh will rumble
Defeat the determined
His dark heart will protect him
From fear and loss”
She mummered.
Hopefrost:
She froze when she saw her colt, Wintercrash, walk up to Sunfire
Wintercrash:
He glared at Hopefrost and Skunk____ as he took his place by his new overstallion
Moonstorm:
She butted her father's leg with her head, "Papa! Stop!" She nickered, pinning her ears back angrily.
Rapidrage:
He nodded. I'm the fire element. But Flurryheart is ice. Opposites. He looked at her, not realizing how sad he was until he saw the look in her eyes. But why do I care! I shouldn't care. But he did.
Sunfire:
”Stay back, Moonstorm.” He warned, not looking at her.
”I advise that you two leave now. If you are still here by sunrise, I will have my army go after you.”
Moonstorm:
Her face fell, "P...papa?" She squeaked.
Skunkwing:
His ears drooped. He looked at Hopecloud. "He's right." He blinked rapidly and lowered his head, his lower lip quivering slightly.
'Ha! Skunk! What a stinky skunk, guys! Look!' A colt pointed at Skunkwind and all the others laughed. Skunkwind backed away, his eyes wide and glassy.
'Stop!' Skunkwind screamed at them, and bolted. He ran for a miles. He collapsed and sobbed into his ugly wings.
Skunkwing panted as memories swarmed through his head, of being bullied and teased, and pushed into the lake.
His ears pounded and he could barely hear.
Hopefrost:
She paled. "W-what?"
Sunfire:
He looked at Hopecloud with a shrug of his wings. ”You aren’t Lead Mare any more Hope____” (Her first name)
Hopecloud:
"LEAVE MY MATE ALONE!" she sobbed
Sunfire:
He pushed Hopecloud away with his wing. “Relax, I won’t kill him.”
Moonstorm:
"Papa! Why are you doing this!?" She squealed.
Hopecloud:
"NO!" she ran in front of Sunfire
Sunfire:
”That weanling was right. (Referring to Flurryheart.) You are just like a skunk. I could do a better job then you could ever do.“
Flurryheart:
”Should we head back to the others?” Her wings drooped sadly.
Skunkwing:
"You were one of the colts who used to bully me, and tease me. But when I became overstallion things changed." He barred his teeth. He didn't want things to change again.
Flurryheart:
Her heart sank. How could they ever be together now? Fire and ice were complete opposites.
Sunfire:
”I’m tired of doing things for you.” He nickered. “I’m ready to rise up.”

Moonstorm:
"That's not like Papa..." She murmured sadly.
Scatteredlight:
"I don't know. He wants power... ?"
Moonstorm:
"Then wh...why is papa doing it!?" She squeaked out loud, her ears pinned back.
Scatteredlight:
She flared her nostrils. "What your father is about to do is dangerous. I believe he shouldn't do it. It's not right, I've known Skunkwing since I was filly like you." She sighed. "The poor stallion," she murmured.
Moonstorm:
She galloped to her mother's side, trembling, her ears pinned back.
Scatteredlight:
She whinnied softly for her filly.
Moonstorm:
She was terrified now, what was going on!?

Skunkwing:
He arched his neck and flared his wings. Memories swarmed before his eyes, colts teasing him and bullying him, fillies laughing at him and flicking there tails at him, older stallions snorting at him and telling him he'll never be a real stallion. But then... he became overstallion. But now he was about to lose it all.
Rapidrage:
"I guess I am," he choked out. He looked at Flurryheart. "Fire and Ice."
(this is the SECOND time a Sunfire challenged his overstallion ;)
Darkbreeze:
She stared at the ground in the cave, still partly concealed by a shadow.
Moonstorm:
"I...I didn't do anything!" She squeaked.
Sunfire:
”Look at yourself. You can‘t lead a herd like that.”
Flurryheart:
”You must be the fire elemental.”
Rapidrage:
He nodded and squeezed his eyes shut, his wings spread out. Fire. Flames. Come back. All of sudden there was a huge POOF under him. His eyes flew open to see the fire under his wings.
"Rise," he said. The fire shot towards the sky. Rapidrage hissed and folded his wings, and the fire came back. (This is fun XD)
Skunkwing:
He looked at Sunfire, and then at Moonstorm and Windstorm. "Look what you've done." He hissed and looked back at Sunfire. "I trusted you," he gasped out.

Moonstorm:
She gaped at her father, "Wha...WHAT!?" She squeaked.
Sunfire:
He stared at Skunkwing, an idea forming in his mind. “Skunkwing.” He nickered. “I challenge you for leadership of this Herd.” It was a good time, since Skunkwing had been weakened by his fall and the geyser.

She was breathing heavily, terrified and agitated, had SHE hurt Skunkwing?! B...but HOW!?
Windstorm:
He stared at Skunkwing
Skunkwing:
He slowly got to his hooves. He glared at everyone.
Sky Herders:
They were prancing in agitation, rattling their feathers as well as they called for the Medicine Mare.
Skunkwing:
He lay there. How much more could he take?
Moonstorm:
She was trembling now, folding her wings neatly onto her back. Had SHE done that!?
Skunkwing:
He screamed. The second he touched the ground he barred his teeth, before falling over, unconscious.
Sky Herders:
With a whistle, they launched into the sky, surrounding Skunkwing and grabbing his wings, getting him gently to the ground.
Hopecloud:
She screamed in fear
(Should I kill Skunkwing? I honestly feel bad for him)
Skunkwing:
He squealed in shock as he flew into the air.
Moonstorm:
She dropped her wings to her sides sadly, realizing that she COULDN'T help Windstorm. The moment her feather tips hit the ground, the ground started to rumble and shake. Shocked, she squeaked in terror, scrambling backward as a huge geyser appeared RIGHT under Skunkwing, sending him flying into the air.
Moonstorm:
K...KILL him!? NO! She couldn't let that happen! But...what could she do?
(OOOOOOH! IDEA! SHOULD MOONSTORM UNKNOWINGLY MAKE A GYSER ERUPT RIGHT UNDER SKUNKWING?! SENDING HIM FLYING INTO THE AIR, XD))
