6 Years After The Incident

Thundertail woke up to an annoying little sister nudging him awake. He got up. "What?" "Why do you always oversleep, your so boring." His younger sister Iceblaze complained. "I had to train late this night okay?" But he usually slept late to stay away from his life. Ever since his sire and dam were executed for treason he stayed away from the pegasi of Anok not wanting to lose another loved one. He didn't get how Iceblaze got over it. Iceblaze studied his expression. "Don't be so gloomy Thundertail. Let's fly over to the lake and play, it'll clear your mind." She kicked off and Thundertail followed. Typical Iceblaze, always trying to cheer him up. She was only one year younger than him and she acted like a weanling. But he had to admit her joy usually took his mind off things. When they arrived Iceblaze settled in the water and folded her wings, floating on the water like ducks followed by Thundertail. She slapped her wings at the water and splashed it on Thundertail. "Hey!" Thundertail threw a wave of water with his wings and soaked Iceblaze. "Oh you really did it now!" Iceblaze flew on of the water and dived back in, then made a huge wave coming straight for him. It consumed him. Iceblaze didn't see a serious brother come out. She perked her ears worried. Then Thundertail popped his head out of the water, his long forelock covering his eyes. "Seriously?" He complained. "Seriously." She said smug. He nickered. Suddenly time slowed. He tensed and then shivered suddenly out of breath. Iceblaze flared her nostrils "You okay?" Time fell back in place. "Yeah. Fine." It was probably just nothing. "Lets head back." He whinnied. They shoot the water out of there wings and kicked off heading back to Lake herd, What Elmwing called his herd. No one knew why the black foals left anok. Was it shame? Was it grief? No one knew. But they must have did it for a reason. And so Thundertail held hope in his heart. They will come back. When they arrived his was face to face with Elmwing. "Your late." He snapped. "Yes Sir. Sorry Sir." "Sorry isn't enough." One of his bodyguards said. "I- I-" Iceblaze covered for him "He was sharpening his hooves!" Elmwing tucked his wings. "Very well, go practice drills with the others. Don't be late again." Thundertail lowered his head. "Yes, Sir." And so, he trotted off with the others, doing his daily routine.
