Shadowpath looked down at the grazing Rain herd pegasi, they seemed peaceful enough and not at all like the hard warriors that Goldenwing had portrayed them as,

The small patrol flew in and out of the forest that separated the herds making sure that no one was crossing the borders, Coraleaf soared a little lower then the rest of the patrol

scanning the ranks of Pegasi on the meadow below them, Shadowpath drifted into a thick cloud of thoughts, Darkstone and Sirenvoice had trained much harder then they used to do, and Wintertale had been collecting all the herbs in the whole forest ,

A sharp pain in his flank startled him "OUCH!" he looked at the stallion that had kicked him, he focused on big stallion bigger then the most steeds "sorry, I'm just distracted I guess." he squeaked, he had a very little voice for such a big Steed "what's your name."

The guy looked like he had a feather in his throat "Aspenblaze."

"well Aspenblaze you look a Mountain herd steed." Aspenblaze looked puzzled as if he didn't know if that was compliment.

"thank you, I think." Shadowpath snorted in amusement "I understand that the battle might be quite scary but it's a battle we have it in our blood."

This made Aspenblaze cringe as if the thought of blood made him didn't made his mood better.

"it's just that I don't like fighting, I wan't to be the first medicine stallion."

the whole patrol looked at him even Coraleaf that had been focused on the horizon looked back "I'm sorry to interrupt this budding bromance, but we need to head back to head back to Cloud herd if we wan't to have or part of the feast."

They soared the rest of the way in silence.

Shadowpath signaled to Aspenblaze to follow, they landed shortly after at the edge of the pine forest. "are you crazy!" Aspenblaze grumbled an answer "partly, look please listen." he raised a golden wing "just because it has never been done before, that does not mean it will never happen and there is another reason, it's because of." he stopped in the middle of the sentence just staring at something behind Shadowpath "what is the matter?" he turned to see Wintertale drag a branch of juniper berries out of the woods, Darkstone and Sirenvoice followed her clearly nervous, trotting back and forth

"attack from blind side answer starling kick would be powerful enough to knock out the enemy but not deadly." Sirenvoice mumbled to her self Darkstone started to practice moves on a bush "what is happening?"Aspenblaze called out. The three mares looked at each other "Gentlecloud's army is here." Aspenblaze's eyes widened "the Gentlecloud."

Wintertale rolled her eyes "yes the Gentlecloud, why she so special." the way she said

Gentlecloud made it clear that she wasn't a fan, But Aspenblaze looked horrified as if hating the lead mare was like hating everything "for the first She is independent, clever."

At that moment Wintertale tugged her feather up over her ears "la la la la I'm not listening! la la la!" She ran off with Aspenblaze on her tail "and not to mention she is beautiful,sneaky." trotting closer "and don't forget she almost got her whole herd killed more than once." Wintertale responded, Sirenvoice just stared, Darkstone began to giggle "we are on the brink of war and you are fighting over what how good or how bad an Pegasi can be?"

she shook head light grey head "we are given time before war and you are fighting such a thing, I'm going to figure everything, spill things I'll maybe will never say to the Pegasi I love, and tell my sister that she was wrong." She took off, into the peach colored sky, still shaking her head, Sirenvoice blocked her path "what!" Darkstone was raising her hoof's "I'm afraid you don't have more time, they are coming." she raised her head to point to the west, at the edge of the forest that was marking the borders, an army of Pegasi walked towards main grasslands of Cloud herd "we need to warn them." Aspenblaze blurted out "there is nobody to warn, Smokecloud says everybody must fight or die, though they somebody else we need to warn." Sirenvoice dropped to the ground and raced towards Cloud herd, Darkstone and Wintertale followed her in the same pace, Aspenblaze followed them in the air with Shadowpath behind him,

They reached the mares right in time to see them take off for the words with basic all the battle mares and a pair stallions along with the elders and pregnant and nursing mares.
