Patchfeather flew as fast as she could back to Snow Herd. The news was important enough that she didn't stop to rest that night.

Patchfeather was glad now that Beanwind had been so insistent about her going. She realized that the last few days she had not been her self, and now she didn't have to be around Coldfire all the time, Patchfeather felt relieved.

By the time Patchfeather spotted Snow Herd, she back to her old self. It was about another hour Patchfeather reached the herd.

When Patchfeather landed most of the steeds were sleeping, then she saw a movement out of the corner of her eye and Stormtail landed next to her.

"Do you have news for Icewing?" demanded Stormtail.

Patchfeather shuddered, Stormtail was huge compared to most of the Snow Herd steeds, and Snow Herd had some of the biggest steeds in Anok. Patchfeather worried that if she said the wrong thing sometime, Stormtail would be the one to kill her.

Patchfeather shook her head, that was crazy no one would kill her if she said the wrong thing.

"Are you deaf?" asked Stormtail, angary.

"N-no, I can hear." said Patchfeather. "And yes I do have a message for Icewing."

Stormtail snorted, "Follow me." He led Patchfeather around the sleeping steeds, and up to a small hill a little ways away were Icewing and Petalcloud were sleeping. Stormtail woke them both and told them a messenger was here to give them news.

Petalcloud snorted and walked away in disgust, she clearly wasn't happy about being woken up. But Icewing was fully awake in seconds.

"Beanwind, and Coldfire sent me to tell you we found signs of Mountain Herd activity along the migration route." reported Patchfeather.

"What did you find exactly?" asked Icewing.

"Feathers." answered Patchfeather. "Brightly colored feather scattered all over the bank of a stream, and there was Mountain herd stench on them."

"Good work....Patchfeather was it?" said Icewing, "You can stay here the rest of the night, but I want you headed back to your team at dawn."

"Yes sir." said Patchfeather as she left, she couldn't wait to see Dragonfrost and Smokemoon.
