Reviving The Guardian Herd Wikipedia and Creating The Guardian Herd Headcanon

Hello! I am xLeadMarex, and I folded my wings and landed my hooves against this soil. I finally understand. This world, this land has so much potential that has yet to be unleashed, yet to blossom. Well, for no longer! The skies and the earth of this land will be burning bright with creativity! And I have come here to tell you what and how. This creativity will be used to revive The Guardian Herd Wikipedia and participating in creating a The Guardian Herd headcanons to use in artwork and roleplays!

To begin with unleashing this creativity, I'd like to mention the current condition of The Guardian Herd Wikipedia. Like a abandoned cottage out on the outskirts of many territories, it's in pretty bad condition. This condition is so bad that my attempt at reviving it wasn't enough. So, I will be planning on creating a new Wikipedia to not only replace but to also flourish long past the old Wikipedia's lifespan!

Then there is the headcanon part of this entire project. Anyone's assistance is GREATLY appreciated! These headcanons that I have came up with so far will be leaning more towards hardcore realism than what The Guardian Herd series offered.

(Keep in mind, these aren't considered canon facts, restrictions and qualities. Please research what the term "headcanon" means on your search engine before jumping to conclusions, thank you!)

1. Pegasi can only fly for one hour maximum, this enforces the fact that they are half horse and half bird.

2. Pegasi are specifically warmblood, thoroughbred and quarter horses. Light/medium builds like these are far more fit for survival than drafts. So all that were drafts or do not fit these breed classifications are twoleg-born and are subject to suffer in the wild as they can't survive long. (MAY BE CHANGED BASE ON FEEDBACK)

3. Mane lengths are medium and short, excessively long manes are twoleg-born and gives the steed 75% chance of getting it caught by things and won't survive long due to this. (MAY BE CHANGED BASED ON FEEDBACK)

4.Along with light/medium build pegasi, their wings are bald eagle wings only. Any other is subject as a deformity.

5. Pegasi are omnivores. A mostly vegetarian diet with eggs. (OFFICIAL)

6. Build differences don't exist. So no heavy chest and thin stomach or overly short, goat-looking pegasi.

7. Instead of big, massive herds, Star's mortalization has resulted in pegasi making herds of 30 members or less. And doesn't claim territory, instead, they roam around like real herd animals do.

8. Single stallions roaming to steal and claim herd mares is a thing now.

9. A herd consist of a max of three adult stallions, but this is generally rare. Only the over-stallion can have foals. All mares are the over-stallion's partners, if any of the under-stallions or captains show interest in the mares, they are attacked by the over-stallion and chased out.

10. The population of pegasi has drastically decreased. A max of 10, 30-member herds can be found on Anok.

11. Along with 10, 30-member pegasi herds, there are 10, 30-member unicorn herds, and 10, 30-member horse herds.

12. Horses, unicorns, and pegasi can communicate with one another in a language dubbed at Equus.

13. Not only do pegasi fight for territory and food quanity, but, unicorns and horses fight with one another as well.

14. Due to having a flight time length of 1 hour, landwalkers are now called twolegs. (MAY BE CHANGED BASED ON FEEDBACK)

15. The land of the twolegs (landwalkers) and Anok have changed to be East Asia and Japan's shapes due to map similarities. Mongolia, China, Korean and Taiwan are the land o the landwalkers. Japan is Anok.

THESE ARE NOT ALL THE HEADCANNONS. IF YOU HAVE MORE IDEAS, COMMENT BELOW SUGGESTIONS!

Feedback is greatly appreciated for these upcoming ideas and changes! I hope to see you sometime soon!

Who are you? Who died and left you in charge of this stuff? I normally try not to be rude, but it's clear you aren't Jennifer. Who says you can make up these restrictions?

It means the universe to me that you have taken the time to deliver your well appreciated feedback!

Who am I? I'm just a average person in this world with a lot of creativity waiting to be unleashed and enjoyed by many!

Oh my, nobody has became deceased, the Golden Meadow, no. I have not been left in charge of anything actually! No, I am not Jennifer Lynn Alvarez, you're right.

I say I can make up these facts, restrictions, and qualities. Thank you for your lawful good concerns though!

Dec 7, 2018Edited: Dec 9, 2018

Nope. I'm sticking to my views, and I find several of yours incorrect. I won't be helping.

It seems you have misinterpreted what the term "headcanon" means; let me help you! The term "headcanon" is a American slang term for elements and interpretations of a fictional universe accepted by an individual fan, but not found within or supported by official canon.

It's unfortunate you won't be helping.

this might be rude sorry if it is, but how i think if the different herds is,, i know they are all the same species but i think of them as different species because the different ones are meant for certain climates,,, I am referring to another book i read Wings of Fire because of the different dragons,,, or horses if you are talking about TGH or ROTR and if the Landwalkers are changed to Twolegs I would get really confused with Warrior Cats

I totally understand your concerns for the characters not having vastly different appearences. This is really okay to feel that way! If there seems to be more opinions going against this idea, I will probably change it. And it is also understandable to get confused over the term "twoleg" being used in The Guardian Herd when it is already used in Warriors. If more opinions go against this suggestion, it will be changed to the term "landwalker" or the term "primeape".

Dec 8, 2018Edited: Dec 8, 2018

Well, I agree with Flamefrost about many of the Headcanons being incorrect, but if you don't mind me doing so, here's my notes on them:

1. Considering the fact that there are several instances throughout the series that the characters fly for more then an hour without stopping, this one is false.

2. In my opinion, pegasi should not be classified as horse breeds, they should be classified as pegasi. Also, Snow Herd steeds have been described as having large stocky builds, witch is pretty much a description of a heavy horse.

3. I don't recall there being anything in the books about mane length being an issue, so I would have to say that would be an assumption, but I would be interested on hearing what Mrs. Alvarez's answer would be in it. Furthermore, the books don't say anything about landwalkers being responsible for breeding the pegasi in Anok.

4. I have a similar opinion on classifying pegasus wings as a type of bird wing as I do with breed , they should be classified as pegasi wings.

5. This one is 100% true.

6. This one is false. The books repeatedly bring up build differences between the herds: Snow Herd is large and stocky; Mountain Herd is smaller and stocky; Desert Herd is lean and skinny; Jungle Herd is small; and Sun Herd is kinda in between.

7. Interesting theory, but I think it will be unlikely to happen.

8. Again, this would make an interesting story line, but for now it is only a theory.

9. This one at the moment is false, and unlikely to happen.

10. Considering that just one of Anok's herds is made up of thousands of pegasi, it would be very horrific for this to happen.

11. Unicorns have never been mentioned in the books, and I really don't think pegasi care enough about horses to keep track of how many herds of them there are.

12. That would be way to similar to My Little Pony for that to happen, though it is a cool idea.

13. I've already said my peace about a Pegasus-Unicorn-Horse Anok.

14. To confusing to suddenly change the term used for humans after completing 2 series.

15. Japan can not be Anok for multiple reasons, the major two being that landwalkers do not live in Anok, and the lack of redwood trees being West of it's borders. There is a theory btw, that Anok is not isn't even on earth, and could possibly be on an alien planet in some other solar system.

Those are my thoughts on them, sorry if I'm being a bit rude, but I think if you do put in the effort to do something like this, facts would be better. If you would like fact seggestions, I would be happy to make a list for you (random TGH facts are kinda my thing).

Also, Welcome to the MB, and I hope the somewhat negative reactions to this post don't turn you away.

you are (no offense) untrustworthy sounding.

you use fancy words.

WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE

Dec 9, 2018

Every and each time you say,

" It means the universe to me that you have taken the time to deliver your well appreciated feedback !"

Dec 9, 2018

And then maybe " It seems you have misinterpreted what the term "headcanon" means; let me help you! The term "headcanon" is a American slang term for elements and interpretations of a fictional universe accepted by an individual fan, but not found within or supported by official canon. "!

Dec 9, 2018

Right?! Although, hey, I use fancy words and I don't have any ill intent.

Dec 9, 2018

That's a JPG file, I think. If it is, it won't work the same way as it does on other sites. A robot would be able to detect it.

Dec 9, 2018

yeah. Sadly, true. I got it from earching the web "robot check images"

Dec 9, 2018

How dare he say that TGH is in bad condition!

Checking your pronoun usage is greatly appreciated for I am a "she" not a "he" or "they". I am not saying the literature series is in bad condition. I am talking about the fan-made Wikipedia!

Dec 9, 2018

If you are trying to make a TGH Wikipedia, I think you should leave out any personal theories about the series. They would make an interesting fanfic, but I think facts would be better in this case

Dec 9, 2018

Fact based Wikipedia is exactly what I was going for.

Dec 10, 2018

There you go again, " It means the universe to me that you have taken the time to deliver your well appreciated feedback ! "

Dec 10, 2018

Well, it's not impossible to do copy and paste to make yourself presentable and look good. I want to look good for people.

Dec 10, 2018

@xLeadMarex yet using the same expression is unoriginal and vaguely discomforting. How about "Thank you"? It's the same thing, really.

  • I'm explaining why Frayan has a father and mother. His sire, Jadethorn, was originally the to-be-mate of Dapplesage, when she became pregnant by Frayan's star, before Jadethorn and Dapplesage had even become mates. Dapplesage was afraid, and suggested that they cancel being mates, but Jadethorn refused; and managed to convince her that having a star foal isn't be bad. So, a month before Frayan was born, Dapplesage and Jadethorn became mates. But the star colt's father, wasn't really his father, but Frayan still loves his sire with a son's love, and so did Jadethorn, with a father's love. The stallion wouldn't let himself abandon his mate, or his colt, just because Frayan was a star foal. Finally Frayan was born, he had a grayish cream colored coat, pure black mane and tail, and turquoise feathers, before his grayish blue star gave Frayan's power to him on his first birthday. Dapplesage didn't want to name Frayan, to prevent attraction, so that she won't have a big relationship with the colt. But Jadethorn already had a name for the star foal since the day he figured out his to-be-mate had been pregnant; the stallion provided the name, Frayan. (Fra-on, like when you say a bc's) The star foal and his sire had an inseparable relationship throughout the first six moon of Frayan's life. Six moons later, Dapplesage became pregnant again, at first supposed that Jadethorn was going to be a true sire... until a moon later, they realized that the pale orange star had been hanging there since the day Dapplesage became with foal a second time. It wasn't long until the mare gave birth to a filly, and a pretty one with pale orange feathers. Frayan was very proud of having a younger sister of his very own, the six moon old colt never left the filly's side unless necessary. It was this time Dapplesage who suggested the name, Jeray. (Jer-ay like say A like abc) Jeray was only two weeks old when her father was tragically lost in a wolf attack. And this is Frayan's story:
  • Alright! I have come up with two scenarios based around Dragon’s central idea of the herd of mares and whatnot. It would be the second thing she suggests in my FanFiction Debate..... post. So the first scenario is equally good to the second; 1.) A herd of mares manages to escape the grasp of Nightwing and travels all the way north where most pegasi have never traveled before. The only problem is that they believe the old lands are completely wiped out because of Nightwing, and the only stallion in the herd happens to be the over-stallion. To avoid in-breeding, the over-stallion and lead-mare suggest the mares find mates within the nearby horse herds. This idea works perfectly, and many healthy newborn colts and fillies are born to the herd, all of different lineage. Then, the over-stallion, seeing that they have recovered their population, decides to outlaw the breeding of pegasi and horses, and they are no longer to create the pegasus/horse mix where they are bigger, smaller wings, and better endurance. So, the pegasi occupy the southern part of this new land and the horses occupy the north. Eventually, the pegasus herds split because of their own differences, and the fact that they are supposedly made for war. The horses, on the other hand, have to split because of starvation and how big their population is becoming. There are four horse herds and 4 pegasus herds, and two capitals. MoonAge is the capital herd of the pegasi, and SunAge is the capital herd for the horses. Then, war erupts for whatever reason (haven’t figured one yet) and I‘m thinking of calling it the Ruptured War, inspiration taken from A Winter’s Promise. Nightmist is born to the over-stallion of MoonAge, and, because fate is utterly terrible, Flare is born to the over-stallion of SunAge :/ . AND, BECAUSE I’M SO EVILLLLLLLL, (Really, ‘twas Dragon’s idea lol) they fall in love, which is considered the highest offense in both SunAge and MoonAge. It can be punished with treason, or banishment to the lands south that is supposedly destroyed by Nightwing. 2.) Again, a herd of mares manages to escape the grasp of Nightwing and travels all the way north where most pegasi have never traveled before. The only thing different is that it’s a REALLY. SLOW. ROMANCE. XD Again, inspiration from A Winter’s Promise, one of the best series I’ve read so far. So, the Ruptured War has been going on for 2 years when Flare is born to the leaders of SunAge, and it has been going on for 3 years when Nightmist is born to the leaders of MoonAge. After another year of warmongering and terrible battles between the horses and the pegasi, the horses finally decide they are tired of fighting. They propose a treaty between the pegasi and the horses in the form of a marriage between the daughter of the leaders of MoonAge and the son of the leaders of SunAge. If the marriage doesn’t work and the two revoke the marriage, than the horses will either drive the pegasi from their land or wipe them out completely. The only problem is, the two hate each other. So, which plot line would you guys like better? I won’t state which one I’d prefer to write, because I don’t want to sway you, but please vote honestly! You don’t have to vote, but if you can give me feedback on a possibly different plot line from these two, than that would be great! Thanks guys! :D -Nightmist
  • "Momma!" I called out but all I could see was snow. I saw my brother. "Bubby!" He had a vine in his mouth. "Stand still" he said and he tied the vine around my neck. "Now I can take you to Foxfeather." he said and we flew across snow. "Um who is Foxfeather I said as we landed" "Me" said a fern voice "Thank you Aspenray. Tell your mother Icesong died" she said with a smirk "yes" and we were left alone.
