I tried to get a picture of eclipse this morning but it was really cloudy, my camera is really bad, and Alaska didn't have a total eclipse:

I can't tell if the black spot in the middle something on my camera or the moon:

I wonder what the pegasi in Anok think an eclipse is
Ikr
That's sweet.
Thanks, my mom says she wouldn't make it through the collage without me. I love her so of course I'm gonna help her.
That's really cool to help your mom out
To help me mom. Shes in collage to be a dentil hygenist
Why do u have to (or choose to) wake up so early pananah?
Hey I wake up at 4 in the morning every Monday. Thursday. and Friday, 6:30 isn't that bad, oh and I woke up at 4 today
You HAD TO wake up at 9:00? I get up at 6:30 to catch the bus! I know you're homeschooled Dragon, but it could be worse if u aren't a morning person.
Oh cool
I saw about 30 or 40 percent eclipse, it was really awesome
You mean solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse is when the earth blocks sun light from reaching the moon
Oh yeah happy lunar ecplise day :P
That would be so weird if the Hundred Year Star got eclipsed...
Thanks Dragon
Hey Jasper, were you in complete totality?
That would be awesome, I can't wait to read it
It would. Maybe I should add that into my story about Ravensong. I kind of forgot about it for a while... Sorry I left you guys hanging
That would make an awesome fan fiction story
So this is kind of a random thought, but what if the one hundred year star got eclipsed by the moon? I mean, can't you imagine how badly the pegasi would freak out? They would think that the black foal got the power and would flip out thinking that there was a new destroyer. Or is that even possible for the hundred year star to get eclipsed? I don't know. Sorry, my imagination started to run away with me...
Yeah, it was really cool. Especially since we didn't have to go anywhere to actually see it. The best part was when it was actually totality and you could look at the sun and see just the Corona and the chromosphere which is impossible to see except for when a complete solar eclipse happens. You can look up and see that without the glasses. It looked like a bunch of golden flames shooting out behind a big black circle(the moon.)
That's crazy
The traffic has been really bad this whole weekend because of the eclipse. I had heard that people were paying 350 dollars a night to camp in someone's backyard with no bathroom access. I can't imagine doing anything that crazy just to see the total eclipse. It was really cool, but it wasn't worth all of that mess.
The last time I saw a total eclipse was at least 6 years ago, when there was a total lunar eclipse that I could see from my bed room window
I couldn't see any planets from Alaska, and the only reason I was able to take photos was because my teacher (aka my mom) let me have my tablet before I did my chores
I was in the path of totality, but I couldn't get a picture because I was in school, and we're not allowed to have our phones. It was so cool!!! When we went outside to see it, the moon was already over half way across the sun. It was really interesting because before the sun was all the way covered it was light outside but it was kind of dark. It's really hard to explain. We were able to see a bunch of plants. The one we saw the best was Venus.
No it's true, in Alaska there's 24 hour sun light in the summer, but in the winter there's 24 hour night. So usually around Christmas time, we only get about an hour and a half of day light, and when there's not much sun is when it can drop to like -30 to (I think I saw it this cold one time a few years ago) -60
XD riiiight
I'll be telling you something completely different in a few months
I miss the dark......
The eclipse here was crazy! it had the moon in front of it and everything! and it got dark, it was...crazy :D
My fam watch on TV to, and we tried to look through welding glasses to but it didn't work very well. Also I found a map NASA made about where you could see the eclipse in AK:
P.S. the map mismarked Barrow, because they changed the name of the "city" a few months ago
But those pictures look awesome!!!!!!
We got around 80% of it. Not very much. I was kinda disappointed, because it didn't get very dark and when didn't have any special glasses to look at it. My dad said he used a welding helmet to look, and said it was pretty cool (he was at the farm and we were at home) But seeing it on TV in Oregon, Wyoming, and other places was SO COOL
I think I'll of have better luck taking eclipse pictures in January, because there is going to be a lunar eclipse that the only state that can see the whole thing is Alaska
Wow! that's so cool
And here's another through the mask.
Here's a picture through a mask.
The full eclipse is happening in 4 minutes! So excited!
Lol
Wow Lol, I got out of bed at 11:00am today, I'm so lazy
Yeah, I had to wake up at 9:00am to see it
Same. I was just curious to see if you were a day behind or something.
August 21, 2017
What day is it in AK?
2:27 now.
It's 10:26am in AK right now
We get a 70% eclipse! Not total, but still! It started at 2:00pm here. What time is it in Alaska right now? It's 2:25pm here.
