Jeray snapped her head toward her name being called by a familiar and loved voice, "KIFO!" She screamed, and bolted toward her best friend, crashing into him, "Kifo! Oh Kifo! I missed you!" She cried, sobbing into his mane, and clutched him with his wings, not anywhere close to letting go, "I thought you would- I thought I would never see you again!"
He heard a faint call, sounding for miles. The voice sounded familiar, "That's Frayan's call! I have to go help them, Silren." He said anxiously.
He pranced nervously and lifted off, but when he noticed Silren wasn't following him immidiatly, returned back to face her and said, "If you don't want to come with me, that's fine. Head back to the herd and see if Thea is awake...If not, then please bring backup!"
He whinnied, before turning and flying towards the noise that still reverberated in his ears.
(Perhaps, maybe can we do part 10? This has gone for 23 pages, and me a million yr old computer can't seem to comprehend this)
Frayan:
Frayan thrust out his wings and gracefully landed into the deep lush green grass of the Vein. He turned and watched his yearling sister descend from the heavens, just hovering before trying to land. Suddenly, Jeray faltered, and rocketed to the ground.
"JERAY!" Frayan screamed, and dove for the filly, but was too late. She crashed into the the earth, sobbing as she lay on her side. The young stallion crept to his sister's side and nuzzled her.
"I'm sorry, Frayan," she choked, "I can't- I miss Kifo."
Frayan lifted his head toward the skies, looking hopefully to see if his friends were flying overhead. But, of course, there wasn't a single life evident in the air. The young stallion pushed off the ground, keeping his head up pointing toward the heavens, and let out a long and loud neigh for help. His call echoed for miles, the sounding carrying throughout the territories, sadly.
She shook her head. "Iden no! Go home! I dont want you here! If you care about me at all then you will go home now!" She glared at Iden as best as she could with her eye sight being so bad.
"Dont worry!" she shifted to the medicine mare she saw. "I can hide here. Even if I cant help you right now. I need to scout, I need to make sure your okay. Plus, Ive learned how to hide my eye." Normally her eyes would stay the same and it made it obvious with her white eye. But she had learned how to hide it. Her forgiveness from the animals helped boost her. She did discover a new weakness though. She couldn't shift into things from a long time ago. While she had an excellent memory for memorizing animals, she still forgot what some animals and pegasi she had met looked like. "Im not leaving you Vida."
"No! He will hurt my herd if I leave! I am staying to regrow my powers and get strong again!" She turned and flew to Iden. "Iden! What are you doing here!?" Vida whisper shouted. Her wings were flapping gently trying not to move the cloud too much. "Iden go home! I am staying here for a while but if Duskwing finds you than he will keep us both here!" She snapped.
She flicked her ears at Vida's outburst and sudden change in behavior. Mossroot followed Vida's gaze and saw another Star foal who disappeared behind a cloud.
Mossroot glanced from Vida to the dark blue filly, "If Duskwing sees that filly, he'll capture her, too. You need to leave..now." She scrambled to say. Her face was desperate, but still in control.
She looked up, checking to make sure Duskwing wasn't in hearing range, "I don't think he saw her. You and your friend need to leave, or else you'll both be stuck here." Mossroot whirled, grabbed the last remaining moss from the Trap and gave it to Vida, "Take this last bit of moss and go!"
"They wont be my friends. I like you because you have been nice to me. Can I learn about plants? The trap is full of plants." She ate some of the moss. "Thats good!" She looked around and almost fell over when she saw Iden. "No!" She thought. She felt something like Iden was trying to communicate with her but her powers being shut off blocked it.
She smiled at Vida's words, but her expression was hesitant, "Healing is a hard subject to teach. It's very different from flying-you can't learn to heal in one day. But, you seem like a nice filly with good intentions, so I'll teach you." Her ears pricked at the sound of a healer,
"A healer you say? Well, if there's a healer in the Star foals, then he/she'll need all the help she can get."
Mossroot said, her face stiffened and stern,
"You don't want to be friends with an old mare like me. I'm boring and nonchalant. They're are several nice colts and fillies in the meadow who'd be your friend, while you stay here."
Before she gave Vida a chance to interrupt or protest, Mossroot continued, quickly dropping the topic,
"There are several branches of healing. What would you like to know first? Heal broken bones, the inner workings of a pegasus, different plants do different things-I could go on and on for days." She said, looking at Vida inquisitively.
She reached the border of Ash Herd and dropped in alttitude. She spotted her friend with another mare. Vida's powers seemed to be turned off. She couldn't send messages, but im sure she could recieve them.
Vida, I am here to your left. I have come to help. I wont be able to help right now, it may be a while. I need to think of a plan.
She nodded her thanks. "Can you teach me somethings about healing? My friend is a healer and I want to help. I understand people not wanting you for anything but to do what they want. I want to be friends. If you do....." She looked down concerned that she had overstepped some boundarys.
Bumbleberry:
He sighed. The pain hurt worse as he tried to communicate with her. "Ok.... Thea I..... Will try...... ugh..." He fainted. The pain from his head mixed with too much use of his power. He slipped into a dreamless sleep. His last words as he slipped away were. "Bakari.... She... loves.... you... too..... much..... to... hurt... you-......." And he was out.
She chuckled, "I don't mind your chatty behavior. Besides, it is nice to have someone to talk too. Pegasi only come to see me, their healer, when they want something or they are injured. None ever walk in to say hello or ask if they could help with anything. So, it is good to hear a voice who isn't pleading for my help."
She said, scoffing at her own words and swishing her tail.
"And this plant will help with your eyesight. It might not fully restore it, but it will help you to see better and take some of the pain away." Mossroot described, laying a small triangle shaped leaf in front of her.
She rolled her eyes inside her eyelids. "The sun is out-I can feel it. I'm getting better because my power comes from the sun. The sun is recharging me, as we speak. I appreciate your effort, but I can feel that you're in pain and I won't have more brought unto you." She said, her fierce expression softening.
Her breathing slowed and her heart rate beat normally. "It's okay, Bumbleberry. I'm fine, really. If you really want to help me, tell Bakari that I love him too much to keep feeling him in pain..." She said, sending a warm, half smile at Bakari.
"I am so sorry. I understand.............. My..... I..... I did not get a chance to see her before she died. My sight is still kinda um spotty. I got it injured when I went into hibernation. She died before I got to see her again. Um yeah sorry i talk so much."
Bumbleberry:"No Thea I wont drop it! You need to heal if we can take some of the pain so you can heal some and then slowly give it back giving you time to heal in between then maybe you will get better!" He shook his head trying to get rid of the stabbing pain behind his eye.
She inhaled sharply. Bumbleberry's words had offended her, but Thea was good at hiding it. "No need to be rude about it, Bumbleberry." She quirked in a sarcastic tone of voice.
Then, her nostrils flared and her ears pinned. "These are MY powers, Bumbleberry, not your's. This is MY Starfire and my descision."
She snapped, obviously annoyed. "You don't need to do anything for me. I'm not giving this up- no matter how hard you try," she concluded, hoping this colt would let it go.
While the others were fighting she used this commotion to sneak away. She shifted to a simple bird, so they couldn't tell it was her. She fluttered out of the trap and into the sky. Once out of view she shifted back. "By the Ancestors, why me?" She focused on the path ahead. She decided not to take the jet stream. She didn't want anyone who followed her to follow her into the stream.
He snorted when he felt the pain leave. "Thea he cant hear you! Dont be an idiot! Give it back or I will take it by force! I have the ability! We need to do this for you! Thea please!" He begged silently knowing she would hear him. "It will be easyer for us to suffer if you let it happen Thea." He was aching from the stress on his powers
He grinned, relieved that Silren was enjoying the view and happy that he had chosen to wake her up. He continued to watch the rainbow and enjoy the peaceful morning, then he remembered the rest of the Star foals.
He stretched his wings again and said, "We should probably head back." But, he noticed that Silren was still admiring the rainbow and he smiled, "When you're ready, of course."
She heard Bakari's voice and she forced herself to flash her legs markings twice in protest. "I'm sorry Bakari, but you know I can't let go. I can't watch you, Iden and Bumbleberry suffer in my place any longer." She thought, hoping Bakari would understand what she was trying to say.
"Yes, Bakari, it does hurt. But, at least it's not hurting you." She thought, managing to flick her ears towards Bakari, before her body went limp from the effort of trying to communicate. Everything was an effort now and everything hurt, but Thea didn't care. All she cared was that her friends, her herd, wasn't sharing her pain.
Bakari gasped awake, stumbling to his hooves as he felt his breathing return to normal. His heart no longer fluttered from itâs cage, but instead chirped patiently. âThea,â he croaked, his throat dry and cracked. He swallowed down the frog inside of it, and then dragged himself over to Thea, plopping down beside her.
âThea, let go. Itâs hurting...â Bakari snorted, unable to finish his sentence because his throat was dry.
She was still unconscious, but she felt better. She was able to move more parts of her body, but she still couldn't speak or open her eyes.
She still felt trapped in her endless pit of darkness, but at least she wasn't in pain.
Guilt washed over her at the thought of someone taking her pain and experiencing it. It was her fault that Bumbleberry, Bakari, and Iden are now suffering, but she couldn't do anything about it.That's when a sudden idea hit her.
"Wait...If they can take my burden and my pain and split it amongst themselves...Maybe I can take it away..." Thea thought. "I'm so stupid! Why didn't I think of this before??"
She heard Iden's and Bumbleberry's voices, but they were distant and quiet. However, she could still feel her pain writhing within them.
Thea tensed her muscles and inhaled deeply, summoning all her burden and pain back into her own body. She took most of it, even from Bakari, who she didn't think had even awakened. She felt the pain slam into her as it returned into its rightful place. The pain engulfed her, leaving her friends entirely, and all coming back into Thea.
Her breathing quickened and her heart thrummed inside her chest, but she didn't let the pain go. "I'd rather have myself suffer than my friends." At this thought, the connection between her and her friends disappeared. The strange bondage of pain that held them together was gone, and it was now simply Thea's pain.
"No Bumbleberry, she gave herself up by force. And this will not be for the worst of Vida. Vida is strong, she can fend for herself during her captivity. I will go wether you like it or not. Ill wait till she is healed and make a plan. If I need more help, ill come back. Your not going to change my mind." She had been persuaded out of things before, but she stood confident. Her bestfriend needed help. She was going to help her.
"Yes but you will make it worse for Vida. If we dont do this when and or if her powers come back then we can help her escape trying now would be fool hardy! If you go now you risk everything she went for when she gave herself up! Dont do that! Iden please!"
"Yes but if you go you will be like Echofrost! You will get captured and then be of no use to her. They will use you to manipulate her or the other way around! Please trust me! We cant do that to save her we all miss her and we want her back but she is my sister and I dont want to lose you too. Please Iden please!"
"Ahhhhh... So she's in Ash Herd. Great thats one step down. Now I need someone to come with me. Bumbleberry, do you remember the old legends of the Storm Herd Pegasi? Remember how they NEVER left anyone. If one was in trouble they stuck together. That means we have to get her!"
He woke up with a smile on his face. His pain was less and he knew where his sister was. If only he found his brother. He heard Iden and said softly. "I know where Vida is. You cant go after her she has a deal that will keep us safe if we leave her. The medicine mare will help her I think. If I tell you you cant go after her!" He gently whinnied (ok see you then if I am home from shoping)
She awoke the next morning, and unconsiously searched for her friends through starfire. A low hum marked Thea, a conection through the plants marked bakari, a cool breeze marked Tulli, and she opened her eyes to see Bubleberry sleeping. They were all here. She searched for the calming warmth of Vida. She was left with cold emptyness. For a couple days she had searched from the clearing for Vida. She had always been able to feel her, but never locate her. But with her trace cold, she must've left the Trap. She needed to go after her. She wanted someone to come with, but she knew they might try and stop her. She tred over to Tulli.
"Tulli. I need to go find Vida." She whispered.
"You cant go out alone." Tulli said snapping out of sleep.
"Then can you come with me?" she asked.
"I uh...." she bit her lip, "I have to stay and whatch for Frayan........ and Jaray! You can ask one of the others."
"But..... do you think they'll stop me?" Iden asked.
"Your stubborn. They cant STOP you. But you should go with someone, dont you think?"
She sighed, "Yes. I'll wait. But I need to find her."
"I am so sorry. I understand.............. My..... I..... I did not get a chance to see her before she died. My sight is still kinda um spotty. I got it injured when I went into hibernation. She died before I got to see her again. Um yeah sorry i talk so much."
Silren groaned as she was racked from a very deep sleep that had left her head numb. âIâm up, Iâm up,â she mumbled as she opened her eyes and pricked her ears. It took her a moment to adjust to the light, but once she did, she stood up, shaking her head to clear the glimmers.
When she stepped out from under the cover of the yew tree, she gasped. Before her stood a plain of happiness, relief, productivity.
And a rainbow.
She sighed in awe, now glad that Anblick had woke her up.
A bird chirped loudly in his ear and he instantly awoke. His eyes fluttered open and he lifted his head. A few rays of dawn crept through the tree's leaves. He carefully stood up and stretched his wings and legs.
He emerged from the cover of the tree to find how much damage there was. Pine trees and oak trees had fallen over from lightning strikes and the ground was wet and flooded by all the rain.
He glanced up and saw a massive rainbow reaching as high as the stars. He nickered happily at the sight of the rainbow and he remembered something his mother had told him after a huge storm had passed, "Keep walking through the storm- the rainbow is waiting for you on the other side, because after every storm you will find a rainbow."
He whirled around and saw that Silren was still asleep and he rushed towards her. He desperately wanted to share the beautiful arch of colors with her- he thought she'd like it. Anblick gently shook her awake with his wings, "Silren? Silren! Look! There's a huge rainbow outside." He nickered again, and trotted out from the tree and pointed with his golden wing.
Her heart went out to this filly. "So young to be experiencing all this..." She thought and lowered her head to look into Vida's eyes.
Mossroot gently wiped away Vida's tears with her wingtip, "Let's go into my den, and I'll tell you something." She said, leading Vida towards her medicine mare cave where all her roots and healing remedies were stored.
Once they were inside Mossroot stood quietly next to Vida, staring up into the sky at the few remaining stars that gleamed brightly in the night sky. Mossroot sighed deeply,
"I know your pain, my dear. About 3 weeks ago, I lost my son. There was a wolf attack and my son was terribly injured in the fight. I tried to heal him, but his injuries were too great and he died within an hour."
Mossroot said, holding her composure while she told the filly her story. "Imagine being a medicine mare, but you can't even save your own foal..." She said aloud, the question more rhetorical.
She suddenly turned away from Vida, shook her head to clear it, and began sorting her piles again without another word.
"I was never cold in the trap. I loved being with my herd . We kept eachother warm and we were all friends and now I might never see them again." Tears stung her eyes. "My dam passed away a few days ago. I I miss her more than anything." She let out a sob
"Just because you were born with the Starfire's power, doesn't mean I should be afraid of you, nor does it not mean I help an injured filly." Mossroot said, her expression softening.
"I know and that storm that just passed with bring snow, which will just make things colder. Hopefully your time here in Ash herd won't be as cold as your time in the Trap." She said, gently laying a comforting wing over the filly.
"I just thought..... If you knew who I was you would not be helping me right now........ Thank you for your kindness and for the food that I needed. I cant regain my powers for now I dont think. Its really cold over here." (Night)
She frowned, like she was thinking. Then, her eyes flashed brightly and she nodded, "Yes, I think I do have some moss from the Trap."
The mare found the dark gray moss at the bottom of her moss pile and gave it to Vida. "It's not much, but it should be enough."
At Vida's second statement, Mossroot cocked an ear at Vida and nickered, amused by this,
"My dear, of course I know you're a Star foal. Look at yourself-your coat is most unique and strange. Why else would you be coming from the Trap? No one else lives in the Trap, but the Star foals." She said, flicking her tail gently, the corners of her mouth hitching upward in a smirk.
"Duskwing did not do this ma'am. It was his head captain Stormfire. My powers stoped working and I made them promise not to hurt shadow herd. My life for my herd's I would do it again. Do you have any food from the trap? If not I will just take some moss please." She said meekly. Her eyes flashing a gentle orange. "You do know I am a star foal right?"
"Of course you can stay by me. Duskwing had no right to take you from your home and your friends, so I apologize for my over-stallion's actions."
She said, then paused to look Vida in her eyes, "You must eat something. I have flowers, grass, more apple tree leaves, and a collection of mosses. Any of that sound good?" She nickered, fanning her feathers and arching her neck.
She gently shook her head. "I cant eat that ma'am. Can I stay by you? I dont think the herd will be kind to me....... I miss home....." She looked down
She smiles down at Vida, and gently nuzzled Vida's forelock out of the little filly's eyes.
"Yes, you will be fine. Come see me whenever your muscles and head start to hurt again, and I'll give you a painkiller. But for now, you should eat and rest." She said, nodding towards the meadow filled with grass and good places to sleep.
Her eyes darted around in her eyelids, and her ears flicked in all directions, feeling more and more pain leaving her body and transferring into her friends.
She felt her heart being pulled to them, like they were connected somehow.
"Please, stop! It's ripping you all apart! Give it back! You aren't healers. This pain wasn't meant for you!" She screamed, hoping they would hear her and listen to her, because they were all somehow bonded by her pain. "Bumbleberry, Bakari, Iden, please stop! Give some of it back! All of you!"
She said, her voice demanding and steady.
Thea wasn't about to let her friends feel so much of pain, especially since it's her fault.
Silren rolled her eyes, amused. She looked back up at the yew tree, hoping she had been kind. She wished for her mother. Or for her mother to at least be safe.
When Silren felt satisfied that she had wished hard enough, she gently laid back down next to Anblick, just not as intimate as last time. She closed her eyes, once again seeing whirring colors that sped into a whirring dream.
He nickered to the foals playing in the snow. "Keep an eye on them, they're troublemakers." he joked. The mare's laughed in response and he trotted over to Mossroot and Vida. "How is she?"
He stared up at her, wondering what she had just been previously thinking about.
"No, you didn't. I woke up by myself." He said kindly, flipping his short mane to the other side of his neck. "How are you feeling? Better, I hope?" He asked, noticing that the rain had subsided and that it was very pleasant outside the shelter of the tree.
Silren craned her neck back and looked up at the long, spindly, and twisted branches of the tree she stood under. It was a yew tree. She could only tell because her mother ad shown her one, told her a story about it. She had said each and every yew tree was born out of multiple kindness, hence why so many different trunks twisted together at the base.
Marlcloud had said that if kindness, or any form of it, was shown beneath the yew trees rough leaves, then a wish would be granted. Of course, this seemed like nonsense, so she shook her head gently and looked back down at Anblick.
Only to find him awake.
âOh,â she exclaimed softly, taking an involuntary step backwards. âI didnât mean to wake you...â she said gently.
He had been asleep, and probably wouldn't have awoken until he felt like something was amiss. Something told him to wake up. Instinct? No, it was something different.
One eye cracked open, expecting to see sunlight, so he was surprised when he saw only darkness.
He slowly lifted his head, his eyes still adjusting to the blackness, and he yawned quietly. He saw a familiar figure, about a winglength away, looking lost it thought. "Silren? What's she doing?"
Anblick watched her quietly, not wanting to disturb her since she looked so intent on whatever she was thinking about.
Silren awoke in the middle of the night, warm and feeling alive. Then she realized where she was.
Next to Anblick, his wing draped over her. She immediately felt guilty for some reason, like this was a crime, and she gently stood up attempting not to wake him up.
Silren stretched her wings, vaguely reminded of the morning she woke up after that terrible fire, where everything was scorched, but birds were singing, flowers had been blooming. The rain had subsided almost completely, and there was a beautiful hushed silence upon the land, like snow had fallen.
"You're welcome, Vida." She said, and noticed how oddly Vida was holding her head.
"Don't try to hide anything from me." She scolded, and grabbed a thick, but small leaf that was shaped like a football.
Mossroot placed the leaf against Vida's bleeding wound and grabbed aspen tree bark and set it at her hooves. "Not going to lie to you, this is going to hurt. Bite down on this aspen tree bark."
She instructed, and once Vida had a good hold on the bark, Mossroot pushed down. The thick leaf stopped the bleeding from Vida's head and to make sure the wound didn't get infected, Mossroot smeared crushed up orchid petals over the wound as well.
"There we go...are you okay? I'm sorry about that."
Thea wasn't about to let her friends feel so much of pain, especially since it's her fault..
Bakari turned slowly to look at Iden, his eyes rimmed white and his lip still curling. He looked away, still unable to answer as he fought the pain and felt a tether forming from him to Thea. He could hear her thoughts, gently. He shook his head in response, attempting to clear it.
"No!" He drew some of the pain from Bakari as he focoused he thought of a filly he had met in ash herd. She had been kind to hime. He and Bakari shared the pain leaving Thea with very little of it. He gave some to Iden
Vida:
She nodded slightly whincing at the pain in her skull from the stallion's attack. It bled but she triewd to hide it. "Thank you"
She felt useless. She needed to do something. She called for her friends asking forgiveness. One by one animals returned. She stood up her powers full and strong. She walked over to Bakari, Bumbleberry, and Thea.
"Please, I want to help. Im charged up. Please let me help."
(Windfeather? You here? In case you didn't see it, I commented this:
Mossroot:
She paused in her inspection, flabbergasted that Duskwing could be so cruel.
"Oh you poor filly. Since it's Winter, I don't have good grass, but here is some apple tree leaves that I found over the spring. Eat them-it'll make you stronger." Mossroot said, and laid the leaves down in front of Vida.
While Vida ate, Mossroot grabbed a pink colored root and broke it in half with her hoof. A yellow filling that had the consistency of sap, spilled out of the weird looking root.
Mossroot smeared the yellow filling over Vida's forehead, wings, spine, and legs. "There you go. Hopefully that feels a little better. That root is supposed to be a painkiller, so it should help your aching muscles."
Bakari had understood what caused her such pain. He understood that being a healer meant giving, giving up a little bit of herself, every time she healed, to make the pegasi she was healing more alive.
He understood her pain. Heck, he felt her pain- and it was excruciating.
Thea could feel her pain increase inside Bakari and Thea's ears pinned, "Bakari! I know you would take all my pain if you could, but you can't. I'm a healer, you're not. You can't take something that wasn't designed for you!" She screamed, managing to rattle her feathers in protest.
Bakariâs lip curled and his neck arched in pain and tension. He managed to catch Theaâs bright flashes and to hear her nicker. He wished he could respond, but he was fighting back the pain, imagining it wasnât there.
Bakari stamped his right front hoof, losing a little bit of control. His ears pinned and his wingtips curled in agony. How could one yearling experience so much pain?
Then it came to him; Thea was a healer. Healing was hard, because healing meant giving. Thea must have healed so much, given too much, that she was now experiencing all this inner torment.
She felt her pain slipping from her body, like someone else was absorbing it all.
She immediately felt better and like she had more energy and a will to live.
She felt alive, for the first time since she'd passed out.
Thea flashed her legs markings twice, each flash a bright light of her pretty tan color. She flashed once more, hopefully showing to however had taken the burden of her pain, a show of thanks and gratitude.
But, something was off. Bumbleberry didn't have her pain. Someone else did-she could feel it writhing within the steed, causing them greater pain.
"Bakari. Bakari has it..." Her heart swelled at the idea and pink blush rose in her cheeks, bringing color back to her face.
A soft, loving nicker escaped her lips, and her wingtips of deep purple feathers curled in Bakari's direction.
Bakari bit his lip as pain rushed through his muscles and an adrenaline he couldnât explain took hold. It hurt, badly, and he felt a tether to Bumbleberry. He could almost see itâs aura, in a way. He drew on that tether, taking more pain than that was required and left Bumbleberry with a small headache type of pain.
Whereas Bakari felt like he was dying.
Bakari couldnât believe Thea was going through this much pain, and he immediately wanted to take all her pain and distribute it between every evil pegasus out there.
Silrenâs mental state returned to normal as soon as she closed her eyes. She saw flashes of color, all of them in tune with the noise around her. Bright, fast colors for the lighting. Striking, but constant colors for the rain, and soft shades of yellow for Anblickâs breathing.
The rain soon softened into shades of brilliant purple in her mind, and she imagined what it would be like to become water. She didnât know why she imagined it, but it calmed her, and it calmed her that Anblick was beside her.
"My name it Vida I am the daughter of Strikewing and Dovefrost. Sister to Kifo and Bumbleberry. Kifo is my twin I was kidnapped threatained and I am hungry and tired and scared!" A tear slipped down her face
"Of course you do, my dear." Mossroot said, feeling pity toward this little filly. "Duskwing has no mercy to the foals born from the stars..."
She looked up at the guards, "Bring her forward so I may inspect her wounds." The guards pushed Vida forward, no matter how much she resisted, these captains were much stronger than this yearling.
"Very good, captains. You may leave us now." Mossroot looked down at Vida, and smiled warmly, "Tell me, little one, what is your name?" She asked, walking around Vida in a slow circle, her observant eyes scanning Vida's body.
He m,anged to slow the rain and wind to a gentle mist. Then tired he fell asleep.
Vida:
"I will do what I want to!" She planted her hooves in the ground. She was hungry and tired but she would not could not surender. She needed the moss that grew in the trap to regain her powers. Normal food would leave her powerless. (She has to eat the food that grows in the trap to get her powers back but no one knows yet)
She still couldn't hear much, other than the thundering storm happening outside her prison of darkness.
She felt more relaxed and less burdened by pain, "Bumbleberry..." She thought, cocking an ear in Bakari's direction, desperately wanting the storm to end so she was able to hear his voice again.
But, from the way things sounded, the storm seemed like it was going to last for a while, so Thea settled into her newfound fear of lightning.
She notices a commotion coming from a few winglengths away. She was sorting roots and leafs' for her remedies, but she left her organized piles to go to Duskwing to see what was going on.
She looks down and sees a young, strange looking filly with a fiery look in her eyes, being led towards her by two captains.
Mossroot glares up at Dusking, "Who is this? Another foal you have captured and taken from home, I presume?" She snapped, her face twisted into a sneer.
(Bumbleberry He stayed with ash herd for a while then came back to the trap)
Vida:
"DONT CALL ME THAT! My brother is Bumbleberry the son of Dovefrost past lead mare of Sky herd mate of Strikewing!" (Gtg be on tomorrow at 8:15 ish am CA time)
"Good for her! She cant talk and feel emotion!" he spat sarcasticly. "Well you wont have to check her tounge, thats working just fine." He indicated to the medicine mare. (SOMEONE PLEASE BE THE MEDICINE MARE. I fyou dont like being bad guys, you can make her good. Also I just realized everyone has a ship besides Iden and Lilith)
"I have to see a medicine mare?" She snapped sarcastically. "The only thing wrong with me is. I have been kidnapped, abused my the stallions who stole me. Threatened and manipulated! I am starving and thirsty. Also I am missing home and my herd and if you are rude to me I will so lose it!" She snarled angrily
He shifted his position gently, trying to make things more comfortable for her. He tensed slightly as he felt her weight leaning into him, but he accepted it and wrapped his wing tighter around her.
Anblick didn't hear her say anything more- but she didn't need to say another word. Silren didn't need to speak for him to understand.
Lightning cracked across the sky, followed by a deafening boom from thunder, but Anblick stayed still and only his gut churned with nervousness.
Anblick closed his eyes and tried to relax, and felt himself slowly drifting off to sleep, no matter how hard he tried to fight it.
(Okay, Dragon, forgive me! XD)
(I say just make it. I wish dragon was here but she is not so I guess..... Idk. Bye rb!)
(I can make it, if it's okay with Dragon of course)
(gtg should be on later bye!)
(Maybe we should make part 10 my computer is having a hard time and keeps crashing)
Kifo:
He woke up when he heard Frayan. He darted and after flying for 30 minutes he saw them. "JERAY!" He shouted as he landed
Anblick:
Vida:
She shook her head. "Iden no! Go home! I dont want you here! If you care about me at all then you will go home now!" She glared at Iden as best as she could with her eye sight being so bad.
Iden:
(Iden is needed)
(hereeeee hooolaaaaaa)
( Here lol )
(Ollo? Anyone?)
Vida:
Mossroot:
Vida:
"They wont be my friends. I like you because you have been nice to me. Can I learn about plants? The trap is full of plants." She ate some of the moss. "Thats good!" She looked around and almost fell over when she saw Iden. "No!" She thought. She felt something like Iden was trying to communicate with her but her powers being shut off blocked it.
Mossroot:
Iden:
She reached the border of Ash Herd and dropped in alttitude. She spotted her friend with another mare. Vida's powers seemed to be turned off. She couldn't send messages, but im sure she could recieve them.
Vida, I am here to your left. I have come to help. I wont be able to help right now, it may be a while. I need to think of a plan.
Vida:
(I gtg night guys!)
Mossroot:
She chuckled, "I don't mind your chatty behavior. Besides, it is nice to have someone to talk too. Pegasi only come to see me, their healer, when they want something or they are injured. None ever walk in to say hello or ask if they could help with anything. So, it is good to hear a voice who isn't pleading for my help."
She said, scoffing at her own words and swishing her tail.
"And this plant will help with your eyesight. It might not fully restore it, but it will help you to see better and take some of the pain away." Mossroot described, laying a small triangle shaped leaf in front of her.
Thea:
She rolled her eyes inside her eyelids. "The sun is out-I can feel it. I'm getting better because my power comes from the sun. The sun is recharging me, as we speak. I appreciate your effort, but I can feel that you're in pain and I won't have more brought unto you." She said, her fierce expression softening.
Her breathing slowed and her heart rate beat normally. "It's okay, Bumbleberry. I'm fine, really. If you really want to help me, tell Bakari that I love him too much to keep feeling him in pain..." She said, sending a warm, half smile at Bakari.
(Recomment
Vida:
"I am so sorry. I understand.............. My..... I..... I did not get a chance to see her before she died. My sight is still kinda um spotty. I got it injured when I went into hibernation. She died before I got to see her again. Um yeah sorry i talk so much."
Bumbleberry: "No Thea I wont drop it! You need to heal if we can take some of the pain so you can heal some and then slowly give it back giving you time to heal in between then maybe you will get better!" He shook his head trying to get rid of the stabbing pain behind his eye.
Thea:
She inhaled sharply. Bumbleberry's words had offended her, but Thea was good at hiding it. "No need to be rude about it, Bumbleberry." She quirked in a sarcastic tone of voice.
Then, her nostrils flared and her ears pinned. "These are MY powers, Bumbleberry, not your's. This is MY Starfire and my descision."
She snapped, obviously annoyed. "You don't need to do anything for me. I'm not giving this up- no matter how hard you try," she concluded, hoping this colt would let it go.
Iden:
While the others were fighting she used this commotion to sneak away. She shifted to a simple bird, so they couldn't tell it was her. She fluttered out of the trap and into the sky. Once out of view she shifted back. "By the Ancestors, why me?" She focused on the path ahead. She decided not to take the jet stream. She didn't want anyone who followed her to follow her into the stream.
(hello?)
Bumbleberry:
He snorted when he felt the pain leave. "Thea he cant hear you! Dont be an idiot! Give it back or I will take it by force! I have the ability! We need to do this for you! Thea please!" He begged silently knowing she would hear him. "It will be easyer for us to suffer if you let it happen Thea." He was aching from the stress on his powers
Anblick:
He grinned, relieved that Silren was enjoying the view and happy that he had chosen to wake her up. He continued to watch the rainbow and enjoy the peaceful morning, then he remembered the rest of the Star foals.
He stretched his wings again and said, "We should probably head back." But, he noticed that Silren was still admiring the rainbow and he smiled, "When you're ready, of course."
Thea:
Bakari:
Bakari gasped awake, stumbling to his hooves as he felt his breathing return to normal. His heart no longer fluttered from itâs cage, but instead chirped patiently. âThea,â he croaked, his throat dry and cracked. He swallowed down the frog inside of it, and then dragged himself over to Thea, plopping down beside her.
âThea, let go. Itâs hurting...â Bakari snorted, unable to finish his sentence because his throat was dry.
Thea:
She was still unconscious, but she felt better. She was able to move more parts of her body, but she still couldn't speak or open her eyes.
She still felt trapped in her endless pit of darkness, but at least she wasn't in pain.
Guilt washed over her at the thought of someone taking her pain and experiencing it. It was her fault that Bumbleberry, Bakari, and Iden are now suffering, but she couldn't do anything about it. That's when a sudden idea hit her.
(Yikes we REALLY need a new part. @Dragon WHERE ARE YOUUUUUU)
Iden:
"No Bumbleberry, she gave herself up by force. And this will not be for the worst of Vida. Vida is strong, she can fend for herself during her captivity. I will go wether you like it or not. Ill wait till she is healed and make a plan. If I need more help, ill come back. Your not going to change my mind." She had been persuaded out of things before, but she stood confident. Her bestfriend needed help. She was going to help her.
Bumbleberry:
"Yes but you will make it worse for Vida. If we dont do this when and or if her powers come back then we can help her escape trying now would be fool hardy! If you go now you risk everything she went for when she gave herself up! Dont do that! Iden please!"
Iden:
"Yes but Echofrost did what was right. Hazelwind agreed that he should have never abandoned Shysong! Even if I get caught, I would've tried."
Bumbleberry:
"Yes but if you go you will be like Echofrost! You will get captured and then be of no use to her. They will use you to manipulate her or the other way around! Please trust me! We cant do that to save her we all miss her and we want her back but she is my sister and I dont want to lose you too. Please Iden please!"
Iden:
"Ahhhhh... So she's in Ash Herd. Great thats one step down. Now I need someone to come with me. Bumbleberry, do you remember the old legends of the Storm Herd Pegasi? Remember how they NEVER left anyone. If one was in trouble they stuck together. That means we have to get her!"
Bumbleberry:
He woke up with a smile on his face. His pain was less and he knew where his sister was. If only he found his brother. He heard Iden and said softly. "I know where Vida is. You cant go after her she has a deal that will keep us safe if we leave her. The medicine mare will help her I think. If I tell you you cant go after her!" He gently whinnied (ok see you then if I am home from shoping)
Iden:
She sat restless waiting for the others to rise.
(I gtg ill be back around 2:30 (central time))
(Morning!)
Vida:
"I am so sorry. I understand.............. My..... I..... I did not get a chance to see her before she died. My sight is still kinda um spotty. I got it injured when I went into hibernation. She died before I got to see her again. Um yeah sorry i talk so much."
Anblick:
He grinned, relieved that Silren was enjoying the view and happy that he had chosen to wake her up. He continued to watch the rainbow and enjoy the peaceful morning, then he remembered the rest of the Star foals.
He stretched his wings again and said, "We should probably head back." But, he noticed that Silren was still admiring the rainbow and he smiled, "When you're ready, of course."
Silren:
Silren groaned as she was racked from a very deep sleep that had left her head numb. âIâm up, Iâm up,â she mumbled as she opened her eyes and pricked her ears. It took her a moment to adjust to the light, but once she did, she stood up, shaking her head to clear the glimmers.
When she stepped out from under the cover of the yew tree, she gasped. Before her stood a plain of happiness, relief, productivity.
And a rainbow.
She sighed in awe, now glad that Anblick had woke her up.
Anblick:(the following morning)
Mossroot:
Vida:
"I was never cold in the trap. I loved being with my herd . We kept eachother warm and we were all friends and now I might never see them again." Tears stung her eyes. "My dam passed away a few days ago. I I miss her more than anything." She let out a sob
(should we skip to the following morning? anyway, i gtg goodnight everyone!)
Mossroot:
"Just because you were born with the Starfire's power, doesn't mean I should be afraid of you, nor does it not mean I help an injured filly." Mossroot said, her expression softening.
"I know and that storm that just passed with bring snow, which will just make things colder. Hopefully your time here in Ash herd won't be as cold as your time in the Trap." She said, gently laying a comforting wing over the filly.
Vida:
"I just thought..... If you knew who I was you would not be helping me right now........ Thank you for your kindness and for the food that I needed. I cant regain my powers for now I dont think. Its really cold over here." (Night)
Mossroot:
Vida:
"Duskwing did not do this ma'am. It was his head captain Stormfire. My powers stoped working and I made them promise not to hurt shadow herd. My life for my herd's I would do it again. Do you have any food from the trap? If not I will just take some moss please." She said meekly. Her eyes flashing a gentle orange. "You do know I am a star foal right?"
Mossroot:
"Of course you can stay by me. Duskwing had no right to take you from your home and your friends, so I apologize for my over-stallion's actions."
She said, then paused to look Vida in her eyes, "You must eat something. I have flowers, grass, more apple tree leaves, and a collection of mosses. Any of that sound good?" She nickered, fanning her feathers and arching her neck.
( Bai )
(Gtg be on later hopefully)
Vida:
She gently shook her head. "I cant eat that ma'am. Can I stay by you? I dont think the herd will be kind to me....... I miss home....." She looked down
Mossroot:
She smiles down at Vida, and gently nuzzled Vida's forelock out of the little filly's eyes.
"Yes, you will be fine. Come see me whenever your muscles and head start to hurt again, and I'll give you a painkiller. But for now, you should eat and rest." She said, nodding towards the meadow filled with grass and good places to sleep.
( Sorry lol..... I guess we could roleplay on the O.C. Chat? )
Vida:
"Yes ma'am thank you. Will I be ok?"
Bumbleberry:
"Thea its ok! We can handle it." He said softly
( Yeah, I did, I just wasnât sure what I could comment xd
(Did you see this comment?
Thea:
Sorry if Im being annoying XDD)
Silren:
Silren rolled her eyes, amused. She looked back up at the yew tree, hoping she had been kind. She wished for her mother. Or for her mother to at least be safe.
When Silren felt satisfied that she had wished hard enough, she gently laid back down next to Anblick, just not as intimate as last time. She closed her eyes, once again seeing whirring colors that sped into a whirring dream.
Anblick:
He cocked an ear at her response, and grinned. He yawned again and felt his eyes droop,
"I'm going back to sleep. When you're ready as well, don't worry about waking me up." He nickered, then laid his head down onto the dead grass.
His eyes flickered upward towards his bright, gleaming golden star. "1 more moon and I'll gain my powers...I hope I'm ready..."
He thought, before looking away from his star, and closing his eyes.
Mossroot:
She glanced up to Duskwing and snorted, slightly irritated at this stallion,
"She'll be fine. She's exhausted and under fed, but she'll survive." She informed him, preening her dirty feathers.
Duskwing:
He nickered to the foals playing in the snow. "Keep an eye on them, they're troublemakers." he joked. The mare's laughed in response and he trotted over to Mossroot and Vida. "How is she?"
Silren:
Silren nodded, and then, not sure if he could see her, said, âYes, doing much better. Just wishing,â she snorted, looking up at the yew tree.
Anblick:
He stared up at her, wondering what she had just been previously thinking about.
"No, you didn't. I woke up by myself." He said kindly, flipping his short mane to the other side of his neck. "How are you feeling? Better, I hope?" He asked, noticing that the rain had subsided and that it was very pleasant outside the shelter of the tree.
Silren:
Anblick:
He had been asleep, and probably wouldn't have awoken until he felt like something was amiss. Something told him to wake up. Instinct? No, it was something different.
One eye cracked open, expecting to see sunlight, so he was surprised when he saw only darkness.
He slowly lifted his head, his eyes still adjusting to the blackness, and he yawned quietly. He saw a familiar figure, about a winglength away, looking lost it thought. "Silren? What's she doing?"
Anblick watched her quietly, not wanting to disturb her since she looked so intent on whatever she was thinking about.
Silren:
Silren awoke in the middle of the night, warm and feeling alive. Then she realized where she was.
Next to Anblick, his wing draped over her. She immediately felt guilty for some reason, like this was a crime, and she gently stood up attempting not to wake him up.
Silren stretched her wings, vaguely reminded of the morning she woke up after that terrible fire, where everything was scorched, but birds were singing, flowers had been blooming. The rain had subsided almost completely, and there was a beautiful hushed silence upon the land, like snow had fallen.
Mossroot:
Thea:
Her eyes darted around in her eyelids, and her ears flicked in all directions, feeling more and more pain leaving her body and transferring into her friends.
She felt her heart being pulled to them, like they were connected somehow.
"Please, stop! It's ripping you all apart! Give it back! You aren't healers. This pain wasn't meant for you!" She screamed, hoping they would hear her and listen to her, because they were all somehow bonded by her pain. "Bumbleberry, Bakari, Iden, please stop! Give some of it back! All of you!"
She said, her voice demanding and steady.
Thea wasn't about to let her friends feel so much of pain, especially since it's her fault..
Bumbleberry:
He almost screamed with the pain coursing through his veins. His small body shook. He gave some more to Iden
Bakari:
Bakari turned slowly to look at Iden, his eyes rimmed white and his lip still curling. He looked away, still unable to answer as he fought the pain and felt a tether forming from him to Thea. He could hear her thoughts, gently. He shook his head in response, attempting to clear it.
(Sorry I had chores to do)
Bumbleberry:
"No!" He drew some of the pain from Bakari as he focoused he thought of a filly he had met in ash herd. She had been kind to hime. He and Bakari shared the pain leaving Thea with very little of it. He gave some to Iden
Vida:
She nodded slightly whincing at the pain in her skull from the stallion's attack. It bled but she triewd to hide it. "Thank you"
Iden:
That root is supposed to be a painkiller, so it should help your aching muscles."
)
Thea:
Bakari had understood what caused her such pain. He understood that being a healer meant giving, giving up a little bit of herself, every time she healed, to make the pegasi she was healing more alive.
He understood her pain. Heck, he felt her pain- and it was excruciating.
Thea could feel her pain increase inside Bakari and Thea's ears pinned, "Bakari! I know you would take all my pain if you could, but you can't. I'm a healer, you're not. You can't take something that wasn't designed for you!" She screamed, managing to rattle her feathers in protest.
Bakari:
Bakariâs lip curled and his neck arched in pain and tension. He managed to catch Theaâs bright flashes and to hear her nicker. He wished he could respond, but he was fighting back the pain, imagining it wasnât there.
Bakari stamped his right front hoof, losing a little bit of control. His ears pinned and his wingtips curled in agony. How could one yearling experience so much pain?
Then it came to him; Thea was a healer. Healing was hard, because healing meant giving. Thea must have healed so much, given too much, that she was now experiencing all this inner torment.
Thea:
( IKR??! )
Bakari:
Bakari bit his lip as pain rushed through his muscles and an adrenaline he couldnât explain took hold. It hurt, badly, and he felt a tether to Bumbleberry. He could almost see itâs aura, in a way. He drew on that tether, taking more pain than that was required and left Bumbleberry with a small headache type of pain.
Whereas Bakari felt like he was dying.
Bakari couldnât believe Thea was going through this much pain, and he immediately wanted to take all her pain and distribute it between every evil pegasus out there.
Silren:
Silrenâs mental state returned to normal as soon as she closed her eyes. She saw flashes of color, all of them in tune with the noise around her. Bright, fast colors for the lighting. Striking, but constant colors for the rain, and soft shades of yellow for Anblickâs breathing.
The rain soon softened into shades of brilliant purple in her mind, and she imagined what it would be like to become water. She didnât know why she imagined it, but it calmed her, and it calmed her that Anblick was beside her.
Vida:
"My name it Vida I am the daughter of Strikewing and Dovefrost. Sister to Kifo and Bumbleberry. Kifo is my twin I was kidnapped threatained and I am hungry and tired and scared!" A tear slipped down her face
Anblick:
Before he knew it, his breathing slowed and his eyes fully closed. His muscles relaxed, but he stayed still so Silren would be comfortable.
He subconsciously felt his head droop and his muzzle curve toward Silren's.
Anblick tried to stay awake, but he slipped into a calm, dreamless haze and sleep welcomed him.
Mossroot:
Kifo:
He m,anged to slow the rain and wind to a gentle mist. Then tired he fell asleep.
Vida:
"I will do what I want to!" She planted her hooves in the ground. She was hungry and tired but she would not could not surender. She needed the moss that grew in the trap to regain her powers. Normal food would leave her powerless. (She has to eat the food that grows in the trap to get her powers back but no one knows yet)
Thea:
She still couldn't hear much, other than the thundering storm happening outside her prison of darkness.
She felt more relaxed and less burdened by pain, "Bumbleberry..." She thought, cocking an ear in Bakari's direction, desperately wanting the storm to end so she was able to hear his voice again.
But, from the way things sounded, the storm seemed like it was going to last for a while, so Thea settled into her newfound fear of lightning.
Mossroot:
She notices a commotion coming from a few winglengths away. She was sorting roots and leafs' for her remedies, but she left her organized piles to go to Duskwing to see what was going on.
She looks down and sees a young, strange looking filly with a fiery look in her eyes, being led towards her by two captains.
Mossroot glares up at Dusking, "Who is this? Another foal you have captured and taken from home, I presume?" She snapped, her face twisted into a sneer.
(I'll be the medicine mare since no one else is doing it (hope that's okay with everyone)
Duskwing:
"Hmm odd. And filly. Dont ever talk to me that way!" He spat then walked away.
He flicked his tail ordering the guards to take her to the medicine mare.
(Bumbleberry He stayed with ash herd for a while then came back to the trap)
Vida:
"DONT CALL ME THAT! My brother is Bumbleberry the son of Dovefrost past lead mare of Sky herd mate of Strikewing!" (Gtg be on tomorrow at 8:15 ish am CA time)
Duskwing:
"Look sweetie I dont even know who your brother is so your barking up the wrong tree" (what is Vida talking about?)
(Can the medicne mare be nice to Vida and feel bad for her? Frayan has a crush on Iden I think)
Vida:
She snarled. "Really! You would take in my brother. You took in my brother who is also part star foal! BUT YOU WONT BE KIND TO ME!?" She shouted
Duskwing:
"Good for her! She cant talk and feel emotion!" he spat sarcasticly. "Well you wont have to check her tounge, thats working just fine." He indicated to the medicine mare. (SOMEONE PLEASE BE THE MEDICINE MARE. I fyou dont like being bad guys, you can make her good. Also I just realized everyone has a ship besides Iden and Lilith)
(We need a new part :P)
(Ollo I am back)
Vida:
"I have to see a medicine mare?" She snapped sarcastically. "The only thing wrong with me is. I have been kidnapped, abused my the stallions who stole me. Threatened and manipulated! I am starving and thirsty. Also I am missing home and my herd and if you are rude to me I will so lose it!" She snarled angrily
(i knowwwww i love them XD)
( I sooooo ship it XD )
