Nyke:

She answered Zahir's question with a shrug, "As long as I can remember, I guess. But, I officially started runner training when I turned 4." She responded, watching as Hakan approached her. Nyke knew him as being a fellow runner, but she still didn't know him well.

Her ears pinned, but her expression remained calm with a spark of fire in her eyes.

She took a few steps back, obviously confused and surprised at his questions. "Why would he run with me? He has that other mare whom he was just playing with..."

She thought, ignoring his first question and flicking her tail at the second.

Nyke figured a gallop with the stallion wouldn't hurt. Before she replied, she caught a glimpse of the way Chip was looking at Zahir. Her stomach churned, but turned away to look up at Hakan, "I'd never say no to a gallop." She said simply, before turning on her heels and galloping away in the opposite direction, not even checking to see if Hakan was following her or not.

Zahir:

He snorted absentmindedly, proclaiming, “I don’t know, but they’ve disrupted my good spirits.” Then he cocked his head in anguish. “ And my meal...” he quickly added.

Being slow in conversations, he remembered her beautiful jump and glanced over to her. “So, how long have you been a runner?” He asked pleasantly, lowering his head to sniff at the clovers in dismay.

Nyke:

She curled up her lips at the stallion and frowned, offended. Someone always had to ruin her moment. But, she didn’t linger in her sense of disappointment, “I’m sorry. I’m a runner for WindAge’s Capital-I can’t help it.” She quirked, almost sarcastically, but sensible enough for it to sound profound.

She glanced at Chip and Hakan, then slightly pinned her ears. Not in anger, but in confusion, “What are they doing?” She asked.

Nyke was never the type to play. She liked to race, but never play.

Even as a young filly, she would much rather race her friends or go jumping logs instead of playing hide and seek or tag, like the other foals

Zahir (WindAge):

Zanier startled as a mare he knew as Nyke came bursting into their meadow. He trotted away, tossing his head and snorting in surprise. He didn’t like surprises. He pinned his ears as he stood still and looked at Nyke. “You startled me,” he snorted, flicking his tail in resentment.

Nyke(in WindAge Capital):

The sounds of her galloping hooves through the woods filled her ears. Her heavy breathing and rushing heart rate fueled her strong muscles.

She expertly weaved around tightly nit trees, her long black tail streaming behind her. Nyke’s eyes strained in front of her and she spotted the meadow stretching out a few strides before her. The sounds of happy whinnies replaced the sounds of her gallop, and she snorted resentfully. She was perfectly happy running and jumping. She didn’t need to play, like a newborn. Speaking of the thought of jumping, a fallen tree blocked her path. She pinned her neck and smirked-a tree? Not a problem. She pulled her legs to her chest and pushed off with her hind legs. She felt her muscles rippling and the wind whoosh through her mane. Nyke didn’t need wings- she was flying over the jump on her own.

She landed perfectly in the meadow and tossed her mane in triumphant glory.

She cantered around for a minut, showing off her gleaming coat and strong legs, before she finally broke into a trot and flicked her ears at the other horses in the valley.

Zahir:

In the distance, the lazy warrior heard squeals of delight. He lifted his head from the ground to see what was going on, only to see Chip and Hakan playing around.

With resentment in his eyes and composure, he turned away to continue grazing.
