The fillies immediately spun around when they heard the foreign pegasi emerge. they were met with the shocked and amused face of the perlino Plains Herd captain, Cloudfire. Riverglade was so shocked that she was frozen in place.
But Cloudfire wasn't. "Get them!" He whinnied to his team.
Riverglade and Lightbreeze turned and bolted up, trying to fly away, but htey were no match for the sky herders. The red dun mare, Aspenglade, and a gray mare quickly wrangled them out of the sky and onto the ground. Riverglade bucked, reared, tried to do everything in her power to get away, but the mare had a grip like a python.
Two appaloosa stallions managed to get a grip on the base of her wings, forcing her to stay still. She looked over and saw Lightbreeze not faring much better. The palomino filly was being held by a gold-dun pinto stallion and a chestnut stallion.
"Why would you this, Sablestone?" Riverglade screamed at the stallion. Sablestone just shook his head, sadly, and seemed to feel guilty. Then he addressed Cloudfire.
"Don't be too hard on them," He said. "They're only just weaned."
"Hawkwing will keep them healthy. If the plan with Canyon Herd doesn't work out, then he will most likely trade them to another herd. Over-stallions like to have pretty mares in their herd." Cloudfire said.
Sablestone recoiled, appalled that someone could think of the fillies as if they were simply for power gain. He simply nodded to Cloudfire, enjoying knowing that Riverglade would make it as miserable as possible for whoever was guarding her. Cloudfire shrugged his dark purple wings, noticing Sablestone's disgusted expression. "Hawkwing's a manipulator. If there's an opportunity for him to gain more power, he's going to take. He doesn't care at whose expense." He explained.
Sablestone sighed. "I know that." He said.
"Alright, then" Cloudfire said. Then he turned to his team. "Move out" he ordered. And they began their trek to Plains Herd, carrying Riverglade and Lightbreeze by their wings.
