Riverglade watched her mother leave, then went to go find Lightbreeze. As she was walking, she heard someone sneek up behind her.

"BOO!"

She didn't even flinch.

"Is that REALLY the best you can do, Ashwind?" Riverglade asked her friend, Ashwind, who was also a weanling.

"Aw, C'mon, Riverglade, can't you at least pretend I startled you?" he pleaded. The two weanlings have been in a prank war since they were 3 months old.

"Sorry, but I can't do that. Saying you startled me would take away my 5 month winning streak, and I can't have that happen." Riverglade was one of the best practical pranksters in Canyon Herd, and it was a goal of all the other foals to try and prank her. But she always managed to make them backfire.

"So, where ya headed?" Ashwind asked, quickly changing the subject. He was still sour about Riverglade beating his winning streak when they were still nursing.

"Off to find Lightbreeze" Riverglade responded.

"Why?"

"Do I need a reason to see my best friend?"She said with a smirk.

"No, but I just saw you two together, and then you galloped off" He reasoned.

"I had to go find my mother"

"What you need to get your mother for?" Ashwind asked. Riverglade was starting to get extremely exasperated.

"Lightbreeze and I saw some Plains Herd patrols near our border in the Void"

"Why were you in the Void?"

"Why do you care if we were near the Void?" Riverglade countered.

"I don't, I'm just curious."

"You ALWAYS say that!"

""Well, I am!" Riverglade was starting to get on his nerves.

"Ugh, haven't you ever heard the Landwalker term, "curiosity killed the cat"?"

"I can't help that!" He whinnied. "Anyways, if Lightbreeze was with you, you couldn't have done anything THAT bad."

"And what's that supposed to mean?" Riverglade said, surprised.

"Please. Even you know that Lightbreeze keeps you from doing your worst pranks" Ashwind snorted.

"Did I hear you guys talking about me?" Lightbreeze nickered as she trotted up to them.

"Just about how apparently, you stop me from doing my wort pranks." Riverglade said.

"Yeah, that's true." Lightbreeze said. Riverglade gave her an annoyed look. "What? Someone has to be the voice of reason, and it certainly isn't going to be you or Ashwind. By the way, how ma was Brightcloud when you told her we were near the Void?"

"Not at all. She just rushed off to find Flamefire and my father. I expect I'll be in big trouble when she gets back, though." Riverglade said.

"I still don't get why you were near the Void!"Ashwind interrupted.

The two fillies filled Ashwind in on their story, and were soon after joined by the twins, Nightshade and Sunfeather.

"Want to play chase?" Nightshade asked.

"Sure!" They all replied.

The weanlings played for a bit, and then were interrupted by the trumpet of an overstallion. Nightshade, who was currently being chased by Lightbreeze, suddenly stopped, causing her to bumb into him with a loud "OOMPFH!"

"Hey Riverglade, isn't that your sire?" The bay colt asked.

"Yeah, it is. Maybe he's done scouting the border, and has news?"

"How about we stop talking, and actually go find out?" said an irritated Ashwind, too curious to wait.

"Race you there!" Riverglade said.

When the foals got to the meadow, with the rest of Canyon Herd, Stormwing had an announcement.

"We will begin the migration tomorrow, to our winter grazing lands. The walkers leave at sunrise." said the overstallion.

A large commotion started among the newly weaned foals. This would be their first migration! Riverglade could hardly believe it! This will be her first time leaving the place she was born! She could hardly wait.
