Finally finished this chapter!!! I haven't even had writers block! XD... have ever been like when your writing a story, and you know what's going to happen next, but for SOME ANNOYING REASON, you just can't write? that's what's been going on, lol.
"Your brother is SABLESTONE??!!" Riverglade sputtered. He'd never said anything about having a brother when Canyon Herd trusted him!
Redoak pricked his ears. "Yeah, why? Do you know him? Did he join Canyon Herd?"
Riverglade snorted. "Do I know him?" She asked sarcastically. "Sablestone is the reason I can't fly! The reason I'm even stuck here against my will in the first place!"
Redoak's eyes widened in surprise. "N-No, I don't believe you," He said, shocked. "He wouldn't do that...would he?"
She snorted again. "Oh, believe me, he would." Then she leaned in close to him, so their foreheads were almost touching. She narrowed her eyes, and said "But if you don't stop bullying Starsky, Lightbreeze, and all the other weanlings, I'm going to tell Hawkwing you've been bullying his daughter for the past 5 moons." She threatened.
"Watch me, I dare you."
Redoak snorted, realizing he was backed against a corner, and Riverglade really would tell on him. "Fine, have it your way."
3 moons later...
Riverglade walked out of Gingeroot's medicine cave with Starsky, her heart feeling empty and full at the same time. Today was her and Lightbreeze's 6 month anniversary of being brought to Plains Herd.
But it was also her birthday! She was officially a yearling, and had been in Plains Herd for the exact same amount of time as she had been in Canyon Herd. Six months.
She sighed. No matter how much time she spent in Plains Herd, it would never feel like home.
But she could fly! Gingeroot had just given her the ok to fly again, saying her flight feathers were fully grown back and restored. She was heading to The Cliffs on the western border right now with Starsky, so practice.
When they got there, they looked down to see a vas, empty grassland with a large lake surrounded by birds.
"You ready?" Starsky asked. Riverglade sighed. "As I'll ever be."
Simultaneously, they cantered towards the edge of the cliff, their wings outstretched, and ready to ride the wind. The edge came closer and closer, until it was right under their hooved.
Then behind them.
And then nothing but air.
