Hoping to confuse them, Riverglade flew north, instead of going southwest to Canyon Herd's territory. But the sky-herders caught onto her quickly, wrangling her out of the sky, all the while communication using the series of whistles and clicks known in the sky-herder language.
Riverglade wanted to be a sky-herder when she was older, and used to watch them train in Canyon Herd. The agile mares soon noticed her, and had given her some pointers on understanding their language.
But this sounded different. All she could pick up on was that the gray sky-herding mare's name was Graydawn. The rest sounded different, and garbled. She assumed that each herd's sky-herding language was slightly different, so the enemy wouldn't understand them.
Riverglade must have slowed down while realizing this, because the next thing she knew, the small mares were right above her head. Suddenly they swooped down in front of her, blocking her path, and forcing her to turn around. She flew hard and fast, hoping to lose them and head back towards Canyon Herd's lands. That was the problem. She was flying so fast, her eyes were tearing up, and everything was blurry, and she couldn't see where she was going.
Then Cloudfire and a heavily spotted dark bay stallion darted up and grabbed out of the sky.
(sorry this one was so short, I'll probably post another chapter later today)
