Star smiled at Morningleaf. She smiled back and then fell back to sleep. Star gently lifted the black filly and set her next to Morningleaf. "Here Morningleaf can you nurse her she seems hungry?" He asked.

Morningleaf woke up again and gently moved the colt and pulled Morningstar closer and let her nurse.

Morningstar nursed till she was full and then she stood up and tried to walk to her sire but after taking one step she fell on her face in the soft grass. The black stallion picked her up and she tried again taking one step before stumbling and collapsing.

"Star honey pick her up ok?" Morningleaf asked.

Star picked her up and carried her too a wet spot in the ground and let her drink from a small creek that was there.

Morningstar stepped closer to her father and nuzzled against him loving how warm and strong he was. She fell asleep (Foals sleep a lot!) 2 hours later she woke up and she and Star walked home.

Back with Morningleaf when Star was gone:

"Mama!" Starleaf shouted happily as he nursed.

Morningleaf nuzzled him gently. "Lets go for a walk honey." She said happily as she helped him stand up. He tumbled over again and she helped him. They walked and took a long nap in the shade of a large elm tree.

Brackentail walked up to Morningleaf and said gently. "And who is this?" The foal looked like Morningleaf but his wings were white tipped in silver. His eyes glowed blue and he looked smart.

"Starleaf. This is my friend Brackentail." She said happily.

Brackentail winced when she said. 'friend' He recovered quickly and looked down at the foal again. "Hey Starleaf. How are you?" He nuzzled the foal gently and the foal squealed in joy.

Morningleaf felt oddly protective of her foal and nudged him closer to her side. Starleaf snuggled closer quickly.

Brackentail winced again and walked away. He saw Shadepebble and Clawthorn together and he winced. He had no one. He was all alone.
