Moongleam woke up to the screeching of birds and the rattling of trees. Wind was blowing hard, and rain was stinging her wings. Moongleam lifted off, trying to find a place with shelter. And then a bright light blinded her. Moongleam looked up, wanting to see what it was, but she had to look away. It was as bright as the Sun, getting brighter in a way that made it seem like the light was coming towards her. Moongleam felt her mouth forced open, and the light flooded her as if she were drowning. Moon felt herself being pushed to the ground by the light. She couldn't let it touch her. She threw open her wings, and something like a bubble appeared around her. She didn't have time to marvel, because the light was still flooding her body, and still pushing her to the ground. First, she was a yard away, feeling like she was a pufferfish, one that was about to pop, and then she was a foot away, feeling like the light was a soft blanket gently settling on her, tipping her towards her doom, and then she was an inch away, feeling nothing, anticipating the pain, and then...
