Shadowblaze glared at Windstorm. "Good job!" he said sarcastically. "You've chased her away." Just when we were happy.
"It's not my fault you're a little wimp!" Windstorm stomped a foot in irritation. "You're always around when I want to charm her!"
"You what!?" Shadowblaze advanced on Windstorm. "You stay away from my sister!"
"Or what? You'll die of sadness?" Windstorm said mockingly. "I'm going to find Riversun." And with that he strutted away.
Shadowblaze curled up into a ball. Somehow, Windstorm always got the better of him. A soft voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Can I graze here?" Shadowblaze looked up into the amber eyes of a sleek dun filly.
"I...uh...sure." She was amazingly pretty, with dark amber feathers and and a wavy dark reddish-brown mane and tail. Shadowblaze took a deep breath. "What's your name?"
The filly looked up. "My name is Amberstone." Her eyes were large and shy. "I'll go away if I'm disturbing you."
"No," Shadowblaze said. "You aren't disturbing me. Not at all." She looked up again, and this time she smiled.
