Riversun hesitated before approaching Shadowblaze, remembering the night before. Shadowblaze running... She swallowed her fear and leapt forward.
"Hey, Shadowblaze!" she whinnied. "Want to play chase?" She felt herself relaxing when Shadowblaze picked up his head and grinned.
"Sure!" he said. He hurried toward her, then frowned. Riversun felt her heart sinking. "Are there anyone else in the herd who'll play with us?" He exchanged breath with her, but Riversun was too busy thinking to feel glad that he had forgiven her.
"I guess there's my milk-brother, but he's a jerk to you." Indeed, Windstorm, though outwardly polite, was a enormous jerk in private to all except Riversun. "Oh no," she whispered.
Windstorm came down with his neck arched and his chest thrown out. "Hello, Riversun," he said, pointedly ignoring Shadowblaze. "Come with me and leave this loser."
It was Riversun's turn to bolt. "He's my brother! Not a loser!" she screamed. Then she ran away from it all.
