It is the second to last chapter! Please enjoy!
Morningmist raised the bead in her wing, prepared to release the golden starfire within, but a blast of silver starfire from Spiderhoof’s bead sent her crashing for the ground.
The silver starfire wasn’t hurting her, but it kept her in place as Icefeather stalked towards her.
“You stupid, stupid filly. Why do you fight? The situation is so hopeless.” He smirked.
“You can’t win.” Morningmist neighed, still trapped by the beam of starfire. Icefeather’s eyes grew cold.
“We already have won.” He gestured his wing towards Riversun.
Spiderhoof was using the silver bead to drain Riversun’s starfire. The bead grew brighter as the gold and silver tendrils of starfire from Riversun’s mouth stopped.
“She will never be able to use starfire again.” Icefeather commented, and moved his wing towards Starfrost.
The colt’s rear legs were broken, and his flight feathers were removed.
“He will never be able to walk again.” Icefeather commented and smiled at the look of horror on Morningmist’s face as she looked at her two friends. “And you...” he smiled and gestured with his wing.
Morningleaf and Pebblewind, under the control of the silver bead, walked forward and grabbed Morningmist’s wings. They pulled her up so she would be standing.
“You will never be able to fly again.” Icefeather smiled as Morningmist gasped in fear.
Morningleaf and Pebblewind grabbed her wings from the roots, and broke the bone. Morningmist cried out, tears running down her face, and slumped to the ground.
“Leave her there. Let’s get moving.” Icefeather ordered.
Pain. It filled Morningmist’s thoughts and mind. Just endless pain.
A faint whisper reached her ears. “The bead. Use the bead.” It ordered.
In agony, Morningmist reached out her hoof, finding the golden bead.
The starfire surged through her body, straightening her wings and mending her cuts.
Slowly, Morningmist stood up, and released the starfire in the bead to all the pegasi surrounding her.
Eyes and hooves that glowed silver returned to normal. Bones mended, and hides glistened.
Others joined Morningmist and watched Icefeather and Spiderhoof run. Morningleaf, Riversun, Starfrost, Pebblewind, and Lakeroot all stood beside her, their wounds healed.
The silver bead was gone, no one knew where it was. The golden bead was now clear, all it’s power used to heal Icefeather’s former minion army.
“It’s midnight.” Morningleaf muttered as she looked into the sky. “It’s time.”
The clear bead lifted into the sky. Morningmist following. There was a flash of golden light, and both pegasus and bead were gone.
The silver bead rolled towards its destination. A small grave in a desolate plane. No one lived here anymore, but it used to be called the Interior of Anok.
The bead finally reached the grave. It rolled inside. There was a burst of silver light, and the bead used the last of its magic.
The rocks covering the grave moved as a pegasus climbed out of the grave. His name was Shadowsun, and he was Nightwing’s colt. The bead had used the last of its starfire to bring him back to life.
Shadowsun’s eyes and hooves briefly flowed silver, and then returned to their natural color.
He looked to the distance, cursing the name of Star and the pegasi of Anok.
I am thinking about writing a fan fiction or short story about Shadowsun called Nightwing’s Colt after I finish Morningleaf’s Filly. Do you think I should work on Nightwing’s Colt it the sequel to Morningleaf’s Filly first?
