Hello! Remember that I am always open to feedback and drawings (which can be put in the post “Morningleaf’s Filly: Fan Art”)! I would be really grateful if you used your time to make me a picture of Morningmist. You can even use Doll Divine. Please enjoy this chapter!
It was the morning and Morningmist slowly woke up. The sun was shining, and Bumblewind’s Memorial was as imposing as ever.
Riversun was already up and had fished a lump of seaweed out of the water. Starfrost was still sleeping. Morningmist got up and walked over to Riversun.
“Seaweed for breakfast? Yuck!!!” Morningmist neighed.
“Shhh!” Riversun scolded as she looked at Starfrost. “We need plenty of energy to continue our journey.” Riversun took a bug bite of seaweed but then spat it out in disgust.
“Didn’t realize it tasted so awful...” Riversun muttered. Morningmist chuckled and stretched out her wings but immediately pulled them back in.
“My wings are still so sore. Can’t we wait one more day!” Morningmist complained.
“No, I am sure Icefeather is still after us. We have to keep on going, and that means we have to eat this seaweed to stay strong.” Riversun took another bite of seaweed and quickly swallowed.
Morningmist rolled her eyes, but started eating her portion of seaweed.

Pebblewind looked into the distance. It would be logical for Riversun and her friends to be hiding in Crabwing’s Bay. There was food there and many places to hide.
After Riversun had bested him in a battle, he had wanted revenge. Several other steeds were with him who had grown tired of being pushed around by Icefeather.
One day when Riversun’s friends were not with her, they would strike and capture Riversun and have unlimited starfire!
Pebblewind smiled and directed his steeds to Crabwing’s Bay.

Once Starfrost was up and they had all eaten a good amount of seaweed, Morningmist and her friends prepared to leave. They decided to follow the vein between former Sun Herd and Snow Herd territory.
Morningmist took one last look at the memorial before they left. Instead of two thousand stones, it was now two thousand and three stones after Morningmist and her friends each put a pebble on top.
They had only just kicked off when they heard the sound of wingbeats. Riversun quickly projected a shield around them as they turned towards the attackers.
Pebblewind was leading the charge and he looked angry. The steeds began to throw stones at the shield.
“What do you want?!?” Morningmist whinnied.
“Revenge!” Pebblewind snarled as he threw a large stone at the shield. The stone bounced off the shield.
“I can’t hold this shield forever!” Riversun softly nickered to her friends. There was no where to run at this point. The steeds had covered every exit.
“Maybe they will leave?” Starfrost whinnied.
“I don’t think they will.” Morningmist sighed. Riversun swayed as Pebblewind threw another large rock.
~
The day stretched on and the rocks continued to fly. Try as they might, Morningmist and her friends could not think of a plan.
Riversun’s shield began to flicker. Soon, it disappeared altogether as Riversun fainted. Morningmist and Starfrost clung to each other as Pebblewind and his steeds attacked.
“Stop!” Morningmist screamed as a hoof whizzed through the air and smacked Starfrost in the face. However, no one stopped and feathers began to fly.
Morningmist was not an experienced fighter like Riversun and Starfrost, but she knew a few basic moves. She got down low and kicked her foes. Starfrost fought like a pro and protected Morningmist when he could.
However, two young fighters were no match for twenty experienced fighters. A bite to the leg made Morningmist unbalanced and a kick to her flank toppled her over. Starfrost was bleeding from a scratch of his ear and was being pummeled by attackers.
A hoof slashed through the scab on Morningmist’s back and blood drizzled from the wound. Wham! A hoof hit her head.
Darkness...
