how Ashfur turned out was the reason I stopped reading the series (along with how long it got, I'd read an arc and it wraps up nicely and I'll think maybe that was the end, but then they add another arc!), if the authors want to do that, don't make it a character we know and love!
(although I knew it was Ashfur who helped Hawkfrost from my second time reading the series, it was so obvious! Firestar said Birchpaw told him Blackstar was waiting on their territory and wanted him to come alone. Let's think... Birchpaw would never listen to Hawkfrost, but he would listen to his mentor, someone who just so happens to hate Squirrelflight, who just so happens to be Firestar's daughter! It was there if you looked for it!)
